The last member of Adolf Hitler's notorious inner circle has died at age 96, leaving behind instructions to publish a manuscript about his time spent alongside the German dictator, the Telegraph reported. Fritz Darges was present for all major conferences, social engagements and policy announcements during World War II and experts believe his memoir could disprove claims by some disputed historians that Hitler never directly ordered the extermination of the Jews, and that the "final solution" was the brainchild of SS chief Heirich Himmler. Darges rose to the rank of lieutenant colonel and thought Hitler was a genius. It was rumored that the dictator's sister-in-law Gretel Braun was interested in him, but he "didn't think he should become the brother-in-law of the Fuehrer."

Oh, so now we are going to make Hitler into some victim of Himmler’s Jewish hatred.
Rot in Hell, Fritz.
As the “only the good die young” saying goes...
Hitler wrote in Mein Kampf what his intentions were toward “inferior races”.
Pat Buchanan is deeply saddened.
.......and nothing of value was lost. May he rot in hell.
I read “THE RISE AND FALL OF THE THIRD REICH” twice as well as Albert Speer’s memoirs. I don’t believe this guys name ever appeared in either. Whovere he is, he certainly can not be considered “inner circle”
I think you misread it: “his memoir could disprove claims by some disputed historians that Hitler never directly ordered the extermination of the Jews, and that the “final solution” was the brainchild of SS chief Heirich Himmler.”
Some revisionist historians have already said that Hitler wasn’t the one who tried to kill all Jews. This guys memoirs could end that talk.
On 18 July 1944, during a strategy conference in the Wolfsschanze, a fly began buzzing around the room, allegedly landing on Hitler's shoulder and on the surface of a map several times. Irritated, Hitler ordered Darges to dispatch the nuisance. Darges suggested that, as it was an airborne pest, the job should go to the Luftwaffe adjutant, Nicolaus von Below. Enraged, Hitler dismissed Darges on the spot and had him banished to the Eastern Front. Another version of this story claims Darges was merely snickering as Hitler looked up from the map.
Of course Hitler would never have asked for what purpose all those trains were being diverted for. /s
Who would’ve guessed Hitler didn’t have a sense of humor?
Apparently Adolph didn't have much sense of humor. Who knew?
Oh, Jeez, I’m embarassed. Now I’ve read the post from Fox News and I see that the fly story is right there. I’m a dumkopf!
Whovere he is, he certainly can not be considered inner circle
Certainly not from the Russian Front....
That’s where I was headed to begin with....
Good point. It seems to me that Hitler was a micro-manager (one reason he lost) and certainly would have known about something on the scale of the camps and the movement of people into (and out of) them.
Off to the eastern front with you.
It'd would have been like claiming FDR knew nothing about the Manhattan Project.
I just checked and you are correct, he is not mentioned. He must have been the janitor.
I see a future musical.
this is going to be quite a book. sounds about as close to hitler as you can get.
I wonder if he was portrayed in “Downfall” and all of those parodies, thereof.
Have you also read Shirer's "Berlin Diary"? Good follow up to his most known work.
Biggus Dickus.
Well then Darges never heard of air defense artillery. Its an army (Wermacht) branch, with the motto, “If it flies, it dies”.
Certainly the Wermacht had 88mm antiaircraft guns?
Just a thought, but does this forshadow Rahm Emmanuel’s memoirs?
Historical note. Darges couldn’t have served in the 5th SS Panzer Division, “Wiking” [or ‘Viking] in France. It hadn’t been formed yet.
Gretl Braun wound up marrying Hermann Fegelein, the SS officer who was Himmler’s liaison to Fuehrer Headquaters. Hitler had him shot on either April 28th or 29th, 1945. after Fegelein deserted the Fuehrerbunker, and was captured in civilian clothes.
Posthumously Written By Hitlers Favorite composer, Wagner.
The revisionist ignore an entry in Himmler’s diary from a Dec. 18th meeting with Hitler[I believe, either 1940 or 1941, where the entry refers to one of the topics being extermination of the Jews.

End quote.
Claims that Hitler never directly ordered the extermination aren’t important to anyone who understands how leaders manage organizations. What matters is not that the leader specifically in writing or in speech stated “exterminate this specific group”, what matters is that the leader promotes a well-defined ideology and populates his administration with people to implement that ideology. Hitler specifically wrote of his ideology regarding races and groups. He classified people into groups and did not seem to consider them as individuals or to consider them much on their individual merits, except as models for their particular group. He staffed his administration with people who agreed with and promoted his ideology and who were extreme in the degree to which they would act to implement his views. That created an organization which was evil in its accomplishments, he intended those accomplishments, and was pleased with those accomplishments. It isn’t important that he may or may not have said something specific regarding any specific act regarding his ideology. Besides, his writings, speeches, choices of staff, and policies clearly and broadly indicate his ideology and the manner and degree of zeal with which that ideology was to be applied to the groups into which he classified humanity. Anyone trying to argue that Hitler did not specifically say he wanted to exterminate a group of people is focused on an issue of triviality and unimportance and has suspect motives.
I am not criticizing the person who illuminated this point by posting this quote, of course, but rather those people who raise such arguments.
I think they already made his memoirs into a play, “Springtime for Hitler.” The guy who played the Fuehrer was exceptional.
Nah. By Lorenzo St. DuBois
Obamas inner circle......
The several chapters on the Fly will fill up the middle of his book, followed by the secret of the “wasp in the bunker” which has been kept from the public since Hitler’s death.
Thanks for posting! This evil POS gets to die in the comfort of his own home, and directly due to him and his kind, millions, including innocent children, were murdered in the most horrific conditions. And it’s interesting that it is left unsaid where the profit from his “book” will go. I hope he rots in hell
The history books will look at Obama’s inner circle as traitors to the Constitution.....
Yes, but will the last member of Obama’s inner circle left alive write a book?
The door closes on tryanny in one country and opens in another.....
No....I don’t think any of them will ever do that.
“...experts believe his memoir could disprove claims...”
Who are those so-called experts? Anyone that bothers to read the extremely boring “Mein Kampf” knows what Hitler’s attitudes were towards “inferior” races.

"Hitler...now THERE was a painter...he could paint an entire apartment in one afternoon....TWO COATS!"
I doubt his memoir will add anything new.
Off to gladiator school!
“So, Bobby. Do you like gladiator movies?”
