WASHINGTON -- Internal investigations into the conduct of several House members have been exposed in an extraordinary, Internet-era breach of security involving the secretive process by which Congress polices lawmaker ethics.
Revelations of the mostly preliminary inquiries by the House Committee on Standards of Official Conduct -- also known as the Ethics committee -- shook the chamber as lawmakers were immersed in a series of scheduled votes Thursday.
The panel announced that it was probing two California Democrats -- Reps. Maxine Waters and Laura Richardson -- even as its embarrassed leaders took pains to explain that several other lawmakers also identified in the leaked confidential committee memo may have committed no wrongdoing.

Times, they might be finally changing at the MSM...
Please do not alter headlines in order to avoid duplicates.
Well Pelosi is certainly keep her promise to run the “most open and most ethical Congress in history”.....
Sorry but the political class will pay no penalty for being the most corrupt government in history.
I didn’t, they changed the headline just after I posted it and added the word Congressional.
Look at me, NOT being surprised that
MaRxine Waters is corrupt, and stupid enough to get caught.
Look what Friends in “Low Places” can do for you.
“...lawmaker ethics...” Prime example of an oxymoron.
And, since the dim-bulb-crats are in control, get serious. Is Rangle still there? Is Pelosi still there? Is Reid still there?
‘Nuff said.
That was stunning.
Only a DemonRAT kool-aid drinker would believe this.
she’ll take this opportunity to brag about how many investigations are ongoing and how she won’t tolerate misdeeds.
Meanwhile, Charlie Rangel continues to make tax policy...

This is on top of the ones that are public knowledge, like Rangel.
Nanci’s house if full of corruption and she refuses to answer any questions about it. Even the democrats are starting to see to what depths our House has sunk to.
Waters really is a dim-witted witch. The only reason she’s in congress is because she’s black.
Looks like Nancy’s efforts to ‘drain the swamp’ aren’t working out too well. Must be beavers.
It took $90,000 cash hidden in a freezer to get Jefferson out of Congress. Anything less and the media will give thema all a mulligan.
They didn’t go after Rangel. They didn’t care about a lot of crooked crap. The fact that this has gone this far is telling, this was apparently a REALLY bad breach of something.
LOL, don't get your hopes up yet.
I was talking to one of those believers of “government is just the personification of the collective will of the people” people who believes that, inherently, government is made up of the best and brightest and has the best interests of the people in mind,
and she’d never heard of Ma(r)xine Waters.
The problem with the Obama/MSM strategy of not reporting ANYTHING detrimental to Rats is that bad news sells papers, not good news. The Rats are in power, so all this corruption is THEIR responsibility now - they own it. If you are reporting on politics, warm fuzzy stories about Michelle or Barry wont pay the bills for long. Hope & Change don't make outstanding headlines. The editors want dirt, pure & simple. So do the readers & viewers.
This puts the MSM in a quandary: Either report the bad news emanating from the Rats & sell newspapers; or report the rosy (fantasy) projections of Obama/Pelosi/Reid & sell only birdcage liners.
For YEARS now, they have ignored an incredibly juicy story of corruption: Charlie Rangel. In NY alone, they could have pocketed a lot of cash covering this story, but they basically ignored it. Many other stories have been ignored, or glossed over.
How is the MSM gonna survive 3-7 more years of this? Nobody is BUYING the lies anymore. Fiction is not nearly as interesting as fact. "Nothing to see here folks" is not a sell-able story.
I’m not, but it seems lately there is a slight shift towards neutral reporting, not much, but noticeable compared to a few months ago.
I think all the alternative media pointing out how bias it is has perhaps forced them to throw a bone out every now and again for impartiality’s sake.
THIS SO... So... socio err... liberal shouldn’t be in orfice. I bee the first one to gradulate her replacement.
That’s true, hence the attempt by Rep Grayson to gin up some stuff with “Republicans Want You To Die Quickly”, and Bobamas feud with Fox News. But everybody knows Republicans are out of the picture for now, and everybody WATCHES Fox News.
I can’t bear to even talk to those people anymore. I want to scream at them.
They are so out of reality, they should have a net thrown over the lot of them and be carted off to the asylum. Then the White House folks need to join them...
Tee Hee.

Good.
No more F22’s because they cost to much money (sigh), but lets spend money for planes for congress to fly around on. I don’t think so.
Smells like bait.
Wheres the hook?
Not paying taxes is no big deal for members of congress, their peers look the other way and reward them with chairmanships.
Citizens not paying taxes is a very big deal, as the IRS will come take everything.
I emailed dear Maxine last year about her actions in regard to Fannie Mae/Freddie Mac. Not a peep did I hear from her until yesterday. Could this be the reason she is suddenly reaching out to her constituents? LOL

This whole process is something of a conundrum. Is it ethical to keep secret the names of ethical violators? Doesn’t the public have a right to know? Criminal prosecutions are not done in secret, it’s out in the open. So what if the defendant is not guilty, they still have the open and public process.
Taking it a step further: How do you ethically square an unauthorized leak of an ethics investigation? Is it unethical to leak the ethics charges because they are confidential? Or is it ethical to leak them because proper ethics requires transparency in the process?
Hmmm.....

there’s a lot of people like that sadly in this country who are really dumb when it comes to politics.
I’ve come across idiots who support dumbo and yet have never heard of Rev wright or even Ayers.
When it was explained to them they just say they have never heard it and it would have been reported if it were true.
I swear the Dems would never get in power ever in this country if they had to get 5 questions on the issues right before voting.
I really do not know why but Dems really are a thick bunch and really ignorant when it comes to the facts.
History will show that those who went overboard for obozo will be seen to have had a cult like mind.

The wonder twins of Spending other people's money:
The same can be said of The Messiah.
It’s not the evidence, it’s the seriousness of the charges! (/s)
I thought Nancy Pelosi promised us the most ethical congress in history. She needs to resign. NOW.
Perhaps the investigations should not be confidential. After all, they work for US!
And Christopher Dodd and Barney Frank continue to make fiscal policy.
At least Imelda was easier on the eyes in her younger days.
Sarcasm, huh.
Sorry 'bout all the pings, folks.
But it's the beginning of our weekend news cycle!
And that always brings out the best confession(s), revelation(s) or otherwise red meat. ;^) LOL
