The new totalitarians - ALAN KEYES
WorldNetDaily ^ | October 30, 2009 | Alan Keyes

Posted on 10/30/2009 5:13:57 AM PDT by EternalVigilance

"Congress has never before required citizens to purchase any good or service, but that is what both House and Senate health bills would mandate." With these words, Donald Lambro of the Washington Times reports the unprecedented destruction of liberty that is the real aim of the Obama faction's so-called health-care plan. Because most Americans have never thought much about the doctrine of unalienable rights that has until now been the presumed basis for America's form of government, the politicians and the controlled media may get away with treating the central goal of the health sector takeover as a secondary issue. Such ignorance-induced nonchalance won't change the devastating new reality that will emerge if the Obama faction's totalitarian philosophy of government is allowed to stand.

Not yet.

But, of course, your point is well taken.

If I were a conservative Supreme Court judge, I’d be ensuring the proficiency of my security detail right about now. (might not be a bad idea to put a food taster on the payroll either)

Yeah, Justice Thomas should do that.

Excellent article with sound, well-reasoned arguments about why government forced health care puts us on the slippery slope to totalitarianism. These are frightening times, friends.

Please consider what you will do if a couple of suits from Washington come to your door to collect your “fair share” of the nation’s health care costs. I would never want to hurt the people in the suits, and I would do everything I could to avoid hurting them. But if they come, I’ll do my best to hurt and hurt and hurt the one(s) who send(s) them.

Romney put exactly that in Mass. Buy health insurance under government requirement or be fined. I think that government has already done this with Auto insurance though . . . as usual we should have fought this decades ago to keep the principle intact.

Justice Thomas and his wife spend court down time touring malls, apparently without security. Several of the justices have (until now) chosen anonymity over protection. I hope those who have are reconsidering that choice.

One response to replies 10 through 12: driving our roads is a privilege licenced and regulated by the states. We “buy” the right to drive. The federal government has never made us buy services we don’t want, let alone fined us for refusing to buy it.

Interesting that analogy, because the insurance executive that I talked to said “mandatory” insurance is a joke. Why?
Because there are always a certain percentage of people who will never purchase insurance no matter what the law says. Maybe 10 or 15 per cent of the population, dunno. Or, they buy it but let it lapse. Everyone seems to think that the insurance companies just love mandatory laws, but this guy pointed out it’s a big pain, lots more record keeping and they are required by law to send by mail cancellations and all that. If it’s “mandatory”; then the insurance company can’t derive a functioning risk pool, either. Maybe that’s the point. Hm.

The commies now running everything will twist that to mean the medical field is a public 'utility' or public institution so accessing it is just like using the public roads, the federal oligarchy dictates the system/institute/utility.

The demcorat party with their cappo in the Oval Office are now fundamentally transforming America, from a Constitutional Republic to a federal oligarchy run by the 'progressives' ... read federal oligarchy run by the communists now in control of the nation.

This one will be "overseen" by the IRS. If you get a pay check, your "insurance" will never lapse.

I’m surprised to see some real “hope and change” coming over the horizon. (I won’t say “through the tunnel”.) Numerous formerly lap dog MSM are beginning to criticize BHO. I doubt that he can take it. Even if you can’t beat a bully, punching him in the nose does wonders to improve his behavior, and laughing at him works almost better. BHO is a bully, a middle aged adolescent, and a pathological narcissist, which means that he’s fragile from many sides.

Truth-telling emboldens others.

It’s amazing how fast the charade can collapse once even one person has the courage to say: “The emperor has no clothes.”

Driving on state maintained roads is a privilege not a right.

Whole nother ball game.

Its the invention of rights by the left that has caused this confusion as so eloquently described by the author.

Sorry, JohnQ, they are going to steal our wealth through the usual backdoor means. There are “fees” imposed on medical device manufacturers. Their costs go up, so they recoup them via higher prices on equipment sold to hospitals who recoup them in payments from the government who recoup them by income taxes on us.

The entire boondoggle will be funded through so many circuitous routes that you’ll never see anybody showing up to shake you down personally.

That’s one of the most insidious aspects of this entire thing.

One, two, three, four, one, two.
(One, two, three, four)

Let me tell you how it will be
There’s one for you, nineteen for me
‘cos I’m the Taxman
Yeah, I’m the Taxman.

Should five percent appear too small
Be thankful I don’t take it all
‘cos I’m the Taxman
Yeah, I’m the Taxman.

If you drive a car, I’ll tax the street, ((car))
If you try to sit, I’ll tax your seat, ((sit))
If you get too cold, I’ll tax the heat, ((cold))
If you take a walk, I’ll tax your feet. ((walk))

Taxman.

‘cos I’m the Taxman
Yeah, I’m the Taxman.

Don’t ask me what I want it for (ha ha Mr. Wilson)
If you don’t want to pay some more (ha ha Mr. Heath)
‘cos I’m the Taxman
Yeah, I’m the Taxman.

Now my advice for those who die (Taxman)
Declare the pennies on your eyes (Taxman)
‘cos I’m the Taxman
Yeah, I’m the Taxman.

And you’re working for no-one but me (Taxman).

excerpt ...
“The supposedly compassionate pleas for access to health care were ‘cover’ for the aim of forcing some people to buy health insurance they don't want, and others to pay for providers of health insurance they have chosen not to patronize. (That's the real effect of the language that allows states to “opt out” of the government-controlled health scheme. People in the states that do will be taxed to pay for it anyway.) By the same token, will the supposedly compassionate pleas for access to abortion services provide cover for the aim of forcing women in certain circumstances to murder their children, and forcing all of us to pay for the government institutions that coerce them into doing so?”

we must reject these men and their totalitarian/communist, ideas.

Else we will be in another period of the “dark age”.

As for me ... I look for Jesus to come during my lifetime. It does not mean we are not going to experience the wrath of God for a time first. America has turned away from God in many ways; and we all have gone along with it ... grudgingly or idle or what. Then comes the GREAT TRIBULATION. Be warned.

“Watch and pray.”

Neither of which is a command to be passive, by the way. Far from it.

I know they won’t show up at our doors, but have you ever tangled with, for example, the IRS? Miss crossing a “t” or dotting an “i” on any of their forms, and they will extort payment of additional taxes or fees you never heard of.
