Over the past few weeks, MSNBC host Rachel Maddow has had a serious fascination with the grassroots advocacy group Americans For Prosperity (AFP) and how a "news organization" should be defined when it comes to press policy at the Obama White House.
But Maddow, on her Oct. 28 show, was able to merge the two topics in an attack on Fox Business Channel's John Stossel. Stossel recently came from ABC as a host of "20/20" to host a weekly opinion show on the Fox's business channel. But in Maddow's infinite wisdom, Stossel's participation in AFP activities somehow taints him.
"But first, one more thing about health reform and its politics," Maddow said. "Last week, we reported that Fox News contributor and soon-to-be Fox Business Channel [sic] host John Stossel will be headlining protest rallies against health reform staged by Americans for Prosperity, the lobbying group which refuses to disclose donors while rabble-rousing about the dangers of government-forced health care."

Rule 1: Power is not only what you have, but what an opponent thinks you have. If your organization is small, hide your numbers in the dark and raise a din that will make everyone think you have many more people than you do.
Rule 2: Never go outside the experience of your people.
The result is confusion, fear, and retreat.
Rule 3: Whenever possible, go outside the experience of an opponent. Here you want to cause confusion, fear, and retreat.
Rule 4: Make opponents live up to their own book of rules. You can kill them with this, for they can no more obey their own rules than the Christian church can live up to Christianity.
Rule 5: Ridicule is mans most potent weapon. Its hard to counterattack ridicule, and it infuriates the opposition, which then reacts to your advantage.
Rule 6: A good tactic is one your people enjoy. If your people arent having a ball doing it, there is something very wrong with the tactic.
Rule 7: A tactic that drags on for too long becomes a drag. Commitment may become ritualistic as people turn to other issues.
Rule 8: Keep the pressure on. Use different tactics and actions and use all events of the period for your purpose. The major premise for tactics is the development of operations that will maintain a constant pressure upon the opposition. It is this that will cause the opposition to react to your advantage.
Rule 9: The threat is more terrifying than the thing itself. When Alinsky leaked word that large numbers of poor people were going to tie up the washrooms of OHare Airport, Chicago city authorities quickly agreed to act on a longstanding commitment to a ghetto organization. They imagined the mayhem as thousands of passengers poured off airplanes to discover every washroom occupied. Then they imagined the international embarrassment and the damage to the citys reputation.
Rule 10: The price of a successful attack is a constructive alternative. Avoid being trapped by an opponent or an interviewer who says, Okay, what would you do?
Rule 11: Pick the target, freeze it, personalize it, polarize it. Dont try to attack abstract corporations or bureaucracies. Identify a responsible individual. Ignore attempts to shift or spread the blame.
Rule 12: No Pooftahs!
Communist lesbians are truly evil.
so where is his step about the truth?
She still has a show....whom actually watches!?
Its pretty funny when a leftwing advocate host on MSNBC is accusing the FBC of bias because of a guy with a weekend show.
Maddow will be highly disappointed when she finds out that Stossel sides with most of the Free Trade Globalist platform advocated by George Soros.
“Gee, now I know why ABC kept him for so long...”
freak show
Nobody watches MSNBC. Their formula for ratings is to attack successful conservative shows and draw attention to their mediocre porgrams.
Yes, she just met with Obama, got her marching orders
I don’t have TV. But now I know why they call it pMSNBC.
That was pretty funny. She thinks Stossel is a newsman. Last I checked, 20/20 was not the 6:00 news.
And is Stossel not allowed to participate in whatever events he wants in his free time. Does he not have the rights you and I have.
The really comical part is that they are discussing it, only increasing Fox’s ratings yet again!
The truth gets stepped on................
I’m 63 years old. Rachael Maddow is the creepiest person I’ve ever seen or heard.
Shouldn’t they take her off and try someone else ? Geesh who could possibly watch RM?
They can’t because she is Keith Olberman’s protege and he demanded Dan Abrams be fired and she be given a show.
How much you want to bet that Rachel Maddow can sing Janis Ian’s “At Seventeen”. She is one sad and bitter dude.
Her “boyfriend” watches just the commercials.
Broadcastings 1st Rule: Don't constantly draw attention to your competition. Your audience will tune you out.
I’ve never known John Stossel to do anything BUT advocacy journalism. He just doesn’t advocate for Obama, so he needs to be silenced.
I agree, and would add that she/he/it is pure hateful malice personified.
I also love how this vile humanoid thing was recently secretly feted and honored by Obama along with a Star Wars Cantina of other media creeps, including Olbermann.
her boyfriend....!? hahaha...
If anyone is "keeping them honest", it ain't Anderson Cooper or Campbell Brown or CNN. It's John Stossel. That's what makes him such a good journalist. He doesn't play favorites.
