KNOXVILLE - A jury this afternoon convicted Lemaricus Davidson of first-degree murder in the January 2007 torture slayings of a Knox County couple.
Davidson, 26, faces a potential death sentence for the deaths of University of Tennessee student Channon Christian, 21, and her boyfriend Christopher Newsom, 23.
Jurors will consider his punishment in a separate proceeding that will begin Thursday. The jurors also could choose life without parole or life in prison, a mandatory 51-year sentence.

Well, if he does not get the death penalty, there is no reason to have one. One could not imagine a more heinous crime or a more evil criminal.

You have to search a bit on the internet to find a picture of the convicted criminal. That explains why the media is suppressing all news of this and scrapping the picture. Also the media is not calling this a hate crime.
We can only hope for some measure in justice in this.

Because none of the killers are admitting racist motives or racist language, and the victims can’t, it won’t be tried as a hate crime.
In any other area than crime, the media and the elite will prove racism by patterns without explicit statements. People with black accents are more likely to be told the apartment is already rented; resumes with black names on them are less likely to result in an interview, etc.
But there is a screaming PATTERN of differential victimization that the media and the sociologists and the government do not touch, that they in fact obscure to present the impression that the predation runs the other direction.
Maybe you don’t punish individuals for the trend when you can’t prove racial hate, because the killers don’t admit racial motives and the victims can’t testify. But the whole notion of hate crimes is dubious anyway - and these torture-rapist-destroyers have earned their deaths a dozen times over, regardless of race.

Considering the crime, I cannot think of a form of capital punishment that would seem cruel. Crucification might be appropriate in this case.

An insulting and implausible defense is worse for the client than sitting down and shutting up.
They said that Channon and Christopher went to house of horrors to buy drugs and that Channon had consensual sex with the defendant(s)in exchange for drugs.

I agree but when you willfully put forth a story that you know is false and it brings unimaginable pain to the victim’s loved ones, that is beyond the Pale and should be punished.
