Orly donates to Democrats...at least she did until 2006
opensecrets.org ^

Posted on 10/28/2009 10:44:03 AM PDT by conimbricenses

I don't know if anyone has brought this up yet, but it certainly raises some questions about her in my mind - especially since she is taking such a prominent role in the "birther" movement. It appears that Orly Taitz is a very recent convert to the Republican Party. Prior to 2008, her donation history was Democrat including a very hefty check to the DSCC in 2006. From the FEC database...

TAITZ, ORLY LAGUNA NIGUEL,CA 92677 SELF/DENTIST AND ATTORNEY 10/22/08 $500 Republican National Cmte (R)

TAITZ, ORLY DR Laguna Niguel,CA 92677 SELF-EMPLOYED 9/17/08 $2,000 Republican Party of California (R)

TAITZ, ORLY LAGUNA NIGUEL,CA 92677 SELF/DENTIST AND ATTORNEY 10/10/06 $500 Lieberman, Joe (I)

TAITZ, ORLY LAGUNA NIGUEL,CA 92677 SELF-EMPLOYED/DENTIST & ATTORNEY 5/31/06 $500 Campbell, John (R)

TAITZ, ORTY LAGUNA NIGUEL,CA 92677 SELF-EMPLOYED/DENTIST 6/30/06 $1,000 Democratic Senatorial Campaign Cmte (D)

So why the sudden and drastic change in her donation patterns?

So why the sudden and drastic change in her donation patterns?

Zero can do that to people. The Trumps, for example, were dems (albeit like most people of their 'ability' donated to both sides), however, they came out strong against Zero. We even deemed Ivanka the spokesmodel for PUMAS.

She probably just made a mistake in the donation paperwork.

She isn’t very competent.

Berg was big Hillary supporter.

It doesn't surprise me that she has some liberal tendencies. That doesn't necessarily mean that she doesn't believe in following the constitution.

Wait your items are not in date order.

On 5/31/06 she donated to a Repubican.

On 6/30/06 she donated to a democrat.

On 10/10/06 she donated to Lieberman, an Independent. Looks to me that she just evaluates the individual candidate and doesn't blindly vote a straight party line.

Berg was big Hillary supporter.

The entire birther movement was originally started by Dems questioning McCain's eligibility, it then moved to Obama when Hillary's camp through Berg started going after it. That's why I laugh when I read it is a "Right Wing Kook" conspiracy.

Whether Obama was born in Kenya, has a different father, or has Islam listed as his religion on his birth certificate, Orly has plenty of explaining to do. Specifically, she’s acted like such an @ss in the litigation that I fully expect she’ll lose her law license before it is over. Simply amazed that the judicial sanctions so far have been monetary rather than a stay in jail for contempt of court. Good thing she has her dental practice as an alternative career.

Berg was also a lifelong Democrat and is still a lifelong Democrat. There’s something a tad suspicious about anyone who goes from dropping five-figure checks to the DSCC to dropping five-figure checks to the Republican Party in only one election cycle.

I think I read something about this long ago, really long ago -- it was so long ago, that it's really hard to recall, but I think it was in some online article about Orly Taitz being a member of AIPAC, or... something like that.

Maybe I can find you a link.

Really? Cause dropping a thousand dollar check to the DSCC is pretty much as straight as you can get when party lines are concerned.

It is true that she did the same thing to the Republican Party in 2008, but neither signifies a voter who "just evaluates the individual candidate"

yeah but she donated $500 to a republican just 30 days before she donated to a democrat. So you can’t say that she was donating to democrats and then changed. She donated to a republican, then a democrat, then more republicans.

Maybe so. I'm just saying its odd that so many self-described right wingers would seemingly follow this lady off a cliff...especially given her dubious background and, shall we say, eccentricities.

Let's put it another way, if Orly Taitz were running for Congress in...say...a special election in upstate New York and you discovered this about her donation history, would you be comfortable making her our standard bearer?

SO what’s your point? Donating to 50 or so Democrat Senators is a lot worse than donating to a single Republican congressman who represents your home district.

I found this on a forum discussing a TV show (Colbert Report, iirc). Didn't think much of it at the time. Later, the name rang a bell...

It looks to be Orly Taitz's high school-aged son on August 25th, 2008 at the California Democratic Caucus breakfast, serving as a "Junior Statesman".

Orly is no crackpot and her political views past and present are not relevant to her convictions that the Constitution of the United States is more important than any political party. The fact she has donated to more than one political party is a credit to her and shows she is not blindly following any political party or politician. The eligibility issue is not a partisan issue.

She also donated to Bush:

TAITZ, ORLY MRS
LAGUNA HILLS,CA 92653 APPEALING DENTISTRY/DENTIST & LAWYE 3/26/04 $300 Bush, George W (R)

Really nothing so see here, seriously one D donation in 2006?? Lame

The Democratic Senatorial Campaign Committee represents every single Democrat in the Senate. In 2006, the year when Orly Taitz dropped a THOUSAND DOLLAR CHECK to them, one of those Democrat Senator recipients of her benevolence was none other than Barack Hussein Obama of Illinois.

Of course you're free to flippantly dismiss that since she's also given to Republicans, but in the very best scenario for you it proves that she's a flake...though that's not particularly hard to do either, as her tv interviews usually suffice.

She donated to the general campaign fund of the DSCC. That is the very essence of blindly following a political party as it makes no differentiation between any of the Democrat members of the Senate. And the Democrats (including recipient Democrat Senator Barack Hussein Obama of Illinois) just happened to be her party of choice that year. Since she's a flake, she flipped over to the Republicans the next year. And she'll probably flip again at some point in the future when it suits her.

No. $20 to 50 Democrat Senators )including one named Barack Hussein Obama) is still a total of $1000.

Besides what exactly have you done about the ineligible president??? A hell of a lot more than the appropriately dubbed professional whack-a-doodle Orly Taitz, who has been a net detriment to the birth certificate issue by way of (a) her complete ineptitude in the courtroom and (b) her projection of the "birther" movement as a collection of nutcases like herself.

I’m not defending her, I just don’t see where she donated that. I guess I didn’t look in the right place but it does seem like she donates all over the place to all parties. I don’t believe she ever claimed to be a big conservative Republican donor, did she? I think she just hates Obongo with a passion and believes he is not legit.

Undoubtedly now, but who's to say she didn't love him 3 years ago when she was dropping $1,000 checks to the DSCC of which he was a member and recipient. Flakes do that sort of thing.

Please cut her some stack. There is/are so many crappy hurdles in the legal system I don’t believe there is any one person in the world that can migrate the crap on our books today. My whole family has been savaged by the legal system with regard to social workers and family courts. It is a ‘make it up as you go’ scenario where the judge is god and all the lawyers go to the same country club and leave the family members involved out in the pasture to rot.

There’s a difference between cutting an attorney some slack and having a self-imposed blindness to an attorney who has filed dozens upon dozens of typo-ridden motions, incorrect filings, botched paperwork without proper signatures, and who, on top of that, comes across as a complete buffoon in court who intentionally antagonizes not just Obama’s lawyers but also the judge and, even more incredibly, the other lawyers on her own side of the case.

This woman has gotten far too much slack as it is. Her loyalists are turning into cultists with a victim mentality who think anything that goes wrong the the cases is the fault of everyone BUT the inept Orly Taitz. She may mean well, she may truly believe in her cause, and her heart may even be in the right place. But none of that matters if she can’t win the case because of her own flakey personality.
