Article II, Section 4 of the United States Constitution tells us that “The President, Vice President and all civil Officers of the United States, shall be removed from Office on Impeachment for, and Conviction of, Treason, Bribery, or other high Crimes and Misdemeanors.” In the history of the United States there have been only three Presidential impeachment proceedings:
Following the assassination of Abraham Lincoln, his successor, Andrew Johnson, served some two years, seven months, and six days before the first articles of impeachment were lodged against him.
Richard Nixon served four years, three months, and ten days before the Washington Post published a report tying the Watergate burglars to his 1972 reelection campaign. There were immediate calls for his impeachment.
Bill Clinton served five years, six months, and twenty-eight days before perjuring himself before a federal grand jury and before a federal judge. There were immediate calls for his impeachment.
In more recent times, Democrats seized upon the Iraq war as a means of doing political damage to George W. Bush. And although Democratic congressional leaders had been privy to the same intelligence reports that the Bush Administration used as the basis for the invasion of Iraq, their support for the war quickly turned to calls for Bush’s impeachment. Bush was in office for two full years on the day that American troops invaded Iraq and Democrats began calling for his impeachment.
Now it appears that Barack Obama may be setting a new record of sorts.

Before you can impeach him for anything, you have to establish that he is legitimately the president of the United States.
However, before you can legitimize his presidency, it has to be successfully challenged in court to the highest levels and withstand the test of scrutiny unless he is forthcoming with irrefutable proof that he is a natural born citizen on his own.

Do not even begin to try and tell me that the people smart and powerful enough to put him into office DIDN’T KNOW that he was born in Kenya... DAMB STRAIGHT THEY KNEW!

because if it is ever discovered and exposed that he has violated his oath of office, he has the perfect means of escaping justice on a technicality that can be tied up in court indefinitely.

The first act of a republican controlled house AND Senate should be to force the president to establish his legitimacy as president.

Second, although I truly “feel” his dithering behavior with regard to the troops being slaughtered in Afghanistan is treasonable, the most I can prove is he has terrible judgment — hardly an impeachable offense.
Third, he is distancing himself from the “unconstitutional acts” of an out of control Congress by “letting them” draft unconstitutional policies and programs into law. He slips the punch, again, by saying he can only veto, he has no say in what he's given to sign.
I can see nothing being done unless or until the complexion of Congress changes drastically. Then we'll see if his judgment improves, he'll certainly wait until then to put his name on any legislation, so he can honestly say to his loyal constituents, “See I tried to give you hope and change, but the far right wing made it impossible.” He's an empty suit, but that is the beauty of the puppeteers who put him up and got him elected.
We need to change the make-up of the House and Senate, if we're going to do this without civil unrest.
We need to wait and see who wins in the '10 elections.

Andrew Jackson and Bill Clinton were IMPEACHED. That is impeachment preceedings were brought against them, the full House voted, and the articles passed. Both were not convicted in the Senate, and so remained in office. To be removed you must be Impeached and Convicted.
Nixon was not impeached.
How someone can write an article about this and confuse the facts and definitions so completely is a mystery.
For what? taking powers on to himself that are not granted by the Constitution? for seizing control of private companies? for forcing private businesses to pay what the government dictates?
He should be, although with dim majorities in Congress it isn’t gonna happen.

One minor correction: It was Andrew Johnson (Lincoln’s second VP) and Bill Clinton who were impeached although Jackson probably could have also been impeached if the dems had not ruled congress at the time.

That is how I see it too. How can a man, NOT QUALIFIED to even hold the Office, be allowed to be the COMMANDER AND CHIEF of the entire United States, signing sweeping laws into existance? The major upheaval would be the exposure of the biggest fraud perpetrated against the American people in it’s entire history. If he is not qualified to be POTUS, he knowingly committed fraud in all 50 states.
