Suit claims East St. Louis passed up white police chief over race

EAST ST. LOUIS — City officials seeking a new police chief passed up the former director of the Florida Highway Patrol, who formerly was a top commander of the Illinois State Police, because he is white, two former members of a city board claim.

Wyatt Frazer and Della Murphy allege in a federal lawsuit that they were forced off the Police, Fire and Civil Service Board for their advocacy of a white candidate when the chief's job was open in 2007.

Their lawyer said Tuesday the spurned candidate was Ronald Grimming, a Metro East resident who rose to be deputy superintendent of the State Police before taking the top spot in Florida in 1993. Grimming could not be reached for comment.

The suit against Mayor Alvin Parks, City Manager Robert Betts and the city itself does not identify Grimming by name or qualifications.

But the plaintiffs' lawyer, Thomas E. Kennedy III, said it was Grimming, and that Parks told his clients "the city wasn't ready to hire a white police chief."

East St. Louis has a 97.7 percent black population, according to U.S. census records...

So, they passed on a guy who was the head of Florida's Highway Patrol and head of the Illinois State Police for a guy who was a detective in a town of 700 people. Yikes! And they also alledge that not only was race a factor but the political affiliation of the candidate as well. So, apparently, in order to get a government job in East St. Louis, you have to be black and Democrat. So much for "I Have a Dream!"

Thanks for admitting the obvious: That most blacks are openly, in-your-face racists, and hostile to whites.

For those that don’t know, the open sewer that is East St. Louis is in the downward spiraling state of Illinois and has nothing, nada, zip zilch to do with the city of St. Louis, MO.

This happens a lot, but most victims just take it. It’s time for people to stop being sacrificial lambs on the altar of political correctness and to fight back against racism.

It is time for the majority of Americans to stop being suckers (or suckas) and ignore the intimidation of the Left. What if we started ignoring all that PC baloney? It is outrageous for Bob Griese to apologize for a taco joke that was immediately condemned as racist and even more outrageous for him to be punished for it. We should write to the network and let them know what we think.

Why do we tolerate blacks using the n word among themselves but accept their threatening us with bodily and financial harm if we do? My complaint is with the double standard and our acceptance of it rather than any interest in the n word.

What if the companies whose CEOs have been denied their agreed upon compensation would just ignore Washington and pay them anyway?

We have allowed a small but vocal and rabid minority to intimidate us into accepting their destruction of our great unique society. In addition that same group has spent years telling minorities how mistreated they have historically been and how they "deserve" compensation and special treatment. They then teach them how to game the system to get that special treatment.

Most frustrating is their ability to get us to pay them to do it to us. ACORN et al., are prime examples of it but the fact that many of them are in academia, government, unions, churches (or being reverends with no churches like J Jackson and Sharpton) or on boards of foundations and trusts which are tax exempt are other ways they ride on the taxpayers' dime.
