In little noticed remarks, Michelle Obama stated at a public event that her husband's mother, Ann Dunham, was "very young and very single" when she gave birth to the future U.S. president.
Her comments further undermine the official story as told by Barack Obama – that Dunham was married to his father, Barack Obama Sr., at the time of birth.
The remarks were made by Michelle Obama during a July 2008 round table at the University of Missouri. Obama was responding to criticism of her husband's presidential campaign speeches about fatherhood and faith-based initiatives.
Michelle Obama explained her husband understands the struggles of low-income families.
"He understands them because he was raised by strong women. He is the product of two great women in his life. His mother and his grandmother," she said.
"Barack saw his mother, who was very young and very single when she had him, and he saw her work hard to complete her education and try to raise he and his sister," Michelle Obama said.
Her remarks about Dunham being "very single" when she gave birth to Barack Obama were also quoted last year on a blog posted at MSNBC.com. The remarks, however, contradicted previous claims President Obama made about the circumstances of his birth.

And I could have sworn, but have never seen again, that during this same time frame Barack himself made the statement that he was “born in Kenya to an unwed mother.”

I am not sure whether this is positive development on the issue of eligibility. If the mother was single when she gave birth to zero, i.e., she was unmarried at that time, would not he automatically follow his mother’s citizenship?
An education at Princeton and Harvard and she still doesn't know the correct usage for he/him in subjective and objective cases.

I guess it was her CHOICE. Women do have choices. But if she was so SINGLE, and so ALONE, why did she give him the name, “Barak Ismail Akhtar al-Sulaiman bin Saddam Mohammed Hussein Obam”, making no mention of her surname, her father...or someone in her line... Something doesn’t match.

Where was his sister born? What does her birth certificate say if she was born out of the country too? They probably haven't hid her real birth records yet like O.
Not if dad signed the birth certificate, or acknowledged him in some way. Something to that effect would have to happen for him to have his last name I’d think.

Big time. The media was crowing about a newly minted Kenyan born US senator back in 2004. Now, not so much. Then ozero makes the claim he was born in Hawaii. Then we get an attitude filled statement from some elected hack from Hawaii saying he has seen all the documents and they are in order, but you can’t see them. How many lawsuits are swirling to prove or disprove his story? Wasn’t the first lawsuit filed by a democrat? They claim that he is legally “barak hussein obama jr”. Ok prove it. Now michelle is making the claim that his mom was single at the time. We are dealing with a serious issue here as to who is this man who is sitting in the White House? There is NO consistancy, there is no information on his college carreers, no information on his illinois senate experience, nothing on who funded his campaign. Add in to this, he is actively working to become a ruler with the power of a chavez or castro.
I do not hold the circumstances of any person’s birth against him, as he had no control over it. It is the lying about it that is objectionable.

It is very clear that Stanley Ann Dunham and Barack Obama were married. Although there was no record of a ceremony taking place, a marriage license was issued, and a divorce was filed for and granted. Why would one go through the expense of filing for a divorce if no marriage existed? Being dishonest seems to run in the family. I think we can chalk this one up to another one of the Obama’s tall tales, along with having been in 57 states, and claiming his birth was a result of the Bloody Sunday March, that took place several years after his birth. Also as a side note, this article also states that the Obama’s were not living at the address listed in the Newspaper birth announcements, and that the home at that address was owned by a third unrelated party at the time. It seems that WND has forgotten that they claimed, in a prior article, that Obama’s Grandparents were living there in 1961.
This is really stupid. It goes to show the extent to which birthers are grasping at straws.
In casual conversation, "single" can refer to legal marital status, or it can refer to de facto living arangements. A woman who is legally married, but permanently separated from her husband is often referred to as "single" in an informal setting.
By all accounts, Obama's parents split shortly his birth, and perhaps eariler. That would make his mom "single" in the informal sense of the word, even though her divorce hadn't been filed yet.
Please provide a link, and evidence there was a marriage license.

I believe Loren Davis and his wife on Obama’s full name. In fact we may find out that he is hiding his BC because of his full name that he shortened because middle names not necessary. But American voters would have a tough time with the name Mohammed and Hussein.
As missionaries in Kenya I am sure they heard a lot of stories. And everything Obama has done since he was elected fits right in with what they warned us about.
