Don’t know where you heard that story. It’s not true, to say the least. I have friends who work for Nationwide and the local media is small-townish here. Nationwide built the arena, and has never taken any tax dollars.
How much money could we get putting the HSA’s deluxe catered box seats up for sale to raise funds?
Not enough, but I like your thinking...That sure would take the wind out of their sails though...
Heck I had seats at an Aeros hockey game (last season) next to Cardinal DiNardo...I’d met him a few times in the past at some political functions...
That is one solid guy who I have a tremendous amount of respect for, and I’m not even Catholic...
He wouldn’t want luxury box seats from what I can tell...
So for the most part, I believe you have a better time at ballgames if you are out in the crowd...Sure it can get testy sometimes, but you just have to roll with it...
It may not cancel out the debt but there is no reason they should own the largest skybox.
