Grandmother who objected to Gay march is accused of hate crime...

After witnessing a gay pride march, committed Christian Pauline Howe wrote to the council to complain that the event had been allowed to go ahead. But instead of a simple acknowledgement, she received a letter warning her she might be guilty of a hate crime and that the matter had been passed to police. Two officers later turned up at the frightened grandmother's home and lectured her about her choice of words before telling her she would not be prosecuted. Mrs Howe, 67, whose husband Peter is understood to be a Baptist minister, yesterday spoke of her shock at the visit and accused police of ' wasting resources' on her case rather than fighting crime.

A lot of these are freaky...and she’s entitled to her opinion. Hate?? It’s not a “hate” question.

'I've never been in any kind of trouble before so I was stunned to have two police officers knocking at my door,' she said. 'Their presence in my home made me feel threatened. It was a very unpleasant experience. 'The officers told me that my letter was thought to be an intention of hate but I was expressing views as a Christian.' Mrs Howe's case has been taken up by the Christian Institute, which is looking into potential breaches of freedom of speech and religious rights under the Human Rights Act, either by Norwich City Council or Norfolk Police. And homosexual equality pressure group Stonewall has branded the authorities' response ' disproportionate'. Mrs Howe claims she was 'verbally abused' while distributing 'Christian leaflets' at the march in the centre of Norwich in July. She said someone 'whispered something in my ear and disappeared'. She fired off a letter to the council describing the march as a 'public display of indecency' that was 'offensive to God'........... She wrote: 'It is shameful that this small but vociferous lobby should be allowed such a display unwarranted by the minimal number of homosexuals.'

The forgotten clause, “. . . (N)or prohibit the free exercise thereof.”

I gotta hand it to the Left. In order to build their socialist Utopia it is necessary to eradicate Christianity. Starting about fifty years ago, with the federal courts on their side, they have made extraordinary progress.

Ah, but you’re thinking that the Socialist Utopia is the end goal (which it might be with SOME of the secular humanists) and that Christianity stands in the way.

No, my FRiend, the eradication of Christianity has always been the ultimate goal. Socialism and humanism are just palatable vehicles to do so. See tagline.

It happened in the UK, where Christians have no rights.

That clause doesn’t apply in Britain. Our own version of speech suppression is now on the President’s desk though.

I wonder what the homosexuals are going to do WHEN Sharia law takes hold in the UK.

They will find that Christians are far more tolerant of homosexuals than Muslims.

The day my commander tells me to go give someone a hard time because they voiced their peaceful opinion/dissent on the grounds of their individual beliefs is the day I turn my badge in. Then I will go out and voice my own opinions and if one of my fellow officers wants to arrest me over it, well, sorry brother, you are about to have the worst resisting you ever had. Stretch out first.

Oath Keepers may need to add another line.

Your collective comments are certainly correct.

I would only add that free exercise of religion is a Natural, unalienable right given to all, no matter where they live, by God.

There is no moral obligation to obey the law of a government which violates the Natural, God given law. St. Thomas Aquinas discussed this at length 800 years ago.

William Blackstone wrote, “Those rights, then, which God and nature have established, and are therefore called natural rights, such as are life and liberty, need not the aid of human laws to be more effectually invested in every man than they are; neither do they receive any additional strength when declared by the municipal laws to be inviolable. On the contrary, no human legislature has power to abridge or destroy them, unless the owner shall himself commit some act that amounts to forfeiture.”

Governments eventually fall when they deny their people too many of their Natural Rights. Among other highly controversial issues in which the courts are on the wrong side involve private property, free radio political speech and public expression of one's faith. Soon to follow will be severe limitations on providing for one's health care.

Our government should be careful, for pressure in the boiler is building, and they have wired the relief valve nearly shut.

In high school my best friends dad got a bit confused and all of a sudden there were queers at his house all the time. I was 16 years old and at some of the parties they had some of the guys would hit on me and my friend. We thought that was pretty funny. Except the one time one of them touched me and I thew him in the pool.

Anyway, the queers (that's what they called themselves) were really pretty amusing. Some were like swishy girls who lisped so much I could not understand them. Others were pretty normal acting. Some, those guys that wore the leather pants (sometimes with almost no back side) were kind of scary. At some parties they would all get drunk and I'd always get in trouble for asking them questions about physical stuff. Something along the lines of "OK, you put your thing back there then he turns around at some point after that and puts that in his mouth. And you do the same? And you think that makes perfect sense?"

Oh gosh, they would get all upset about that kind of question. They would prefer to talk about "love" and "caring" and stuff a normal human would. I say normal because almost 100% of them were not "right". And I met a lot of them. And just about always once you got to know them a bit they were all kind of self-loathing and somewhat self-destructive. I kind of felt sorry for them.

Keep in mind that this was the mid 70's. Just when "gays" in the Montrose area of Houston were getting organized and figuring out how they would get the rest of the world to not look at what they did but how they "felt". Since then they have been very successful haven't they? You hardly here anyone say what this lady did. At least out loud. Which makes sense because as it always has been one one group that is out of the norm gets in to power they usually do to others what they think has been done to them. The Democrats and Obama are that way. The "black" Democrats and Obama are especially that way. To the point of being frightening. Which is exactly why they comport themselves the way they do. And a good example of why some gays think that they are "minorities" like "blacks". That is except when they want to make the point that there are a lot of queer folk. Then they want you to believe every other guy taking a leak in a mens room with 5 urinals is "totally gay", uh, dude.

What have I learned from all of this? I've learned that the most dangerous people around are those that seek power so they can do to others what they think has been done to them. Unfortunately, they usually find out that unless pushed nobody cares if they are black or blue or gay or whatever. But they now have the power to take others freedoms away from them. So they use it. They have the power to tax or jail or just place a scarlet letter on someone. And that is what they do. Why? Because they know they are devoid, lacking, faulty. To forget that they go after the innocent, the lambs. Like this lady. Because it makes them feel better. But not for long. Not until they can do the same thing to someone else, then another, then another. But at the end of the day what are they? Who are they? Nothing in my opinion. They will never be fed because deep down they know they are not normal and nothing will ever make them so. So to become normal they must delete what is normal.

Someone should organize a political movement to replace the council members who called in the police. It seems to me that that would be the most effective response.

Do a majority of the voters in that town support that kind of attack on a decent person? Maybe so, but I really doubt it.

The elitists that infest our government, to be more precise.
And they think they can force us to obey their superior goals. This is the "wiring shut of the relief valve".

They have the same viewpoint toward us "infidels" as the Muslims do - we have three choices.
1) Convert and be like them
2) Live as their slaves
3) Die

I think, though, that they're going to have a lot harder time enforcing these choices on us than they imagine.

Fellow FReepers, I did not read all of the article and thought that this happened in the U.S. What troubles me is that I WAS NOT SURPRISED that it “happened” in the U.S.! I was going to comment that this lady should raise holy you-know-what and go to all the media outlets with her story. So I wonder if her Baptist preacher husband can preach on certain passages in the Bible? I’ve had it up to here with the bellyaching of the ragheads and the gays.

Heavens forbade she speak out against the perversion of homosexuality. These perverts will teach her a lesson in tolerance.
Isn’t tolerance all about accepting people with different beliefs?
It is clear the only belief perverted homosexuals will accept is theirs.

Hey faggots! Do one simple thing for me. Have sex with your same sex lover and created a child!
A simple frigging deed.
So simple a caveman can do it.
