Vladimir Putin to be cast in bronze for Arnold Schwarzenegger

A BUST of Russia's muscle-flexing strongman Vladimir Putin is being created as a gift for ex-Hollywood bodybuilder and California's current governor Arnold Schwarzenegger.

The bust is currently being made in Putin's home city of Saint Petersburg on an order of Russia's Bodybuilding and Fitness Federation and will be delivered to the movie star-turned-politician in March.

"Putin is such a complex personality. He's left no one indifferent," Alexander Chernoshchyokov, a Saint Petersburg-based sculptor who has been working on the Putin bust since June...

In 1991 the Russian artist made a sculpture of Schwarzenegger and Vladimir Dubinin, the president of the bodybuilding federation, personally delivered the gift.

The two Russian men soon learned the Hollywood action hero collected sculptures, Dubinin said.

His collection however lacked figures of Communist-era leaders, so a few years later Chernoshchyokov made the sculptures of Stalin and Lenin.

Capturing Putin's features proved difficult however. "He's changing every day. His features even change during the day," said Dubinin.

Putin, who famously declared earlier this year that he and Medvedev were "of the same blood", hinted earlier this year he might be back in the Kremlin in 2012.

That's how it is with Soviet Revisionist History.

Sounds like Schwartzy and Putin have a gay thing going on. Come to think of it, that would explain a lot of Schwarzy’s behavior in CA these days.

I wonder if Putin will be wearing a shirt. Is this a colossal man-crush, or what?

I am thinking Putin has a very small penis, and is compensating.

Or he wet the bed or something.

America could use a guy like Putin right about now.

Seriously.

Vladimir Putin to be cast in bronze for Arnold Schwarzenegger

How will they keep him from thrashing around once the molten brass starts to cover him?

I think they should go for something like this:

Either that or Putin is in some subtle way making fun of Arnold by making it seem as if Arnold is a friend of Putin’s.

Putin’s a certified BAD ASS.

I bet you could dunk him in molten brass and it’d coalesce around his balls.

No, I’m thinking it’s a mutual man-crush. Putin has bigger fish to fry, ridicule-wise.

Putin is a interesting guy.

At least he has no problem in dealing appropriately with people who get in his way.

You have to admire a guy who has a black belt in karate at his age and uses a tranquilizer gun on a tiger to save a kid.

On the other hand, when I look into his eyes I see three letters - KGB.

He may be our enemy but he is a manly enemy, unlike the harlots who populate our offices here.

You never know. Arnold has pretensions to being a world player, I mean, this is an actor we’re talking about. All of them have shameless egos and pretensions.

Putin is tougher than Arnold and a hell of lot smarter. An idiot like the Gubernator would never have survived in Putin’s Russia.

He would have been sent to the gulag for mismanaging a state enterprise

And don’t I know it. I have no idea why, but I don’t think Putin is evil so much as someone who has had to survive and succeed in the environment he lived in. He’s had a lot of tough choices and made them. I plan on reading his autobiography and I’m interested in knowing more on how his mind works.

Over there, politics is chess and so is life.

“Arnold has pretensions to being a world player”

Well, he’s hit the glass ceiling here in America, where else has he got to go? I’d say he should go back to Austria and become king, or whatever they have. But then he’d be one of 30 or so water-carriers for the EU, so what’s the point?

He’s not just some dude who used to work for the KGB and fell into politics. He’s a Bad Ass Machiavellian with the Eye of the Tiger, for lack of better terms. He’s a power-a-holic statist. Don’t be lulled by his exoticness.

""Putin is such a complex personality. He's left no one indifferent,"

So has Lenin, but he was no complex personality. He said what he would do and did it, and quite single-mindedly at that. It's not Putin's personality but his deeds that don't leave people indifferent.
