When the nation's gross domestic product comes out Thursday morning, it'll show the first quarterly improvement since the April, May, June period of 2008.

But I dare you to try telling your family or acquaintances that the recession is over.

So, what's going on?

The answer is an oxymoronic “jobless recovery”. Millions of jobs have been lost and they’re not coming back even with small positive GDP gains. 3% GDP growth means nothing if you can’t find a job to feed your family.

” Why everyone is depressed about the economy? “

Because, unlike the ‘experts’, we can look at the soaring deficits and the stratospheric national debt, and see the 600# gorilla sitting on the back of the elephant in the room, ready to drop any number of ‘other shoes’.....

So why does everyone still feel so freakin' miserable?

Having no job and eating Kraft Dinner, and regarding it as a feast?

Do I win? Am I a rocket scientist now?

And something unhappy about unemployment, rising gasoline and food prices, more government regulation, and on and on.....

Because we all know in our gut n heart that this “recovery” is all a fraud.

“A big financial firm sniffles and Washington is immediately dabbing its nose.

Americans all over the country are lying on the ground hemorrhaging and Washington is still dabbing Wall Street’s nose.”

Throw in the monkey-wrench of Government wanting to manage our health care, and we’re REALLY in trouble.

Maybe people are upset/scared/enraged that a totally inept, America-Hating Commie is in the White House? Whose going to ‘invest’ in that? Why NOT hunker down, circle the wagons and pray for the storm to pass?

Why is everyone so miserable??? Please tell me this is a rhetorical question. Nobody can possibly be that out of touch. We’re miserable because in spite of the state run media telling us we’re in the midst of a recovery, our disappearing jobs are telling a different story.

It's downright patriotic to spend money right now to help the economy

reading stupid comments like this is (ad-nauseam) depressing.

“Have we simply become a nation of complainers?”

Are they kidding us? Unemployment is through the roof, the commies are taking over the government, our liberties are being attacked every day, and WE are a nation of complainers now????

I believe the 600# gorilla and the 1200# elephant will drop as soon as the November elections are over.

As a small business owner, recently and thankfully retired, why would I want to work and hire hard working folks just to redistribute the economic growth I have created under the Obama socialistic plan?

People feel bad because they know the government is lying to them. The economy is bad, and many of the jobs that were lost will never come back. In the auto industry alone you have lost over 100,000 jobs that paid $80,000-$100,000 per year. Masses of people making that kind of money will never be seen again.

“Why everyone is depressed about the economy.”

Because we know families who have lost their homes. We know people who have divorced because of severe financial pressure, we know people who have lost their jobs and have drunk themselves to death, we know single moms who have lost their jobs and who now stay with friends. We know people who have lost their jobs because they can’t get their car fixed. We have hosted people in our homes who have hit the financial wall and can’t even feed themselves.

And we know that there are few if any foreclosure signs in DC.

Any questions?

3% GDP growth means

All of which resulted from government spending and printing money. So to get to 6% they just need to triple the printing and borrowing. LOL, sort of a dig faster when you are in a hole!!!

If it weren't for faith and family, I would have gone postal months ago.

Try telling your kids to work hard and study, when they see their father who has a Masters Degree and a CPA, out of work for much of the past year.

My wife thinks there must be something wrong with my resume...and she is right. I've been told on my last few interviews my resume is "too strong".

I'm working on a plan for the future, one that entails being very flexible. Make hay during tax season, and then work part-time/night jobs such as a substitute teacher or bartender.

I did receive some good news this morning...my unemployment benefits hit my account. Took a couple of weeks longer than expected, as my previous "employer" tried to claim I was an independent contractor. Good thing I kept all of those emails from the powers that be.

We are depressed because almost every other country is already out of trouble, and gaining jobs, because they didn’t have an idiot for President who spent a trillion dollars while making the economy WORSE, and who thinks he knows how to run businesses better than people with decades of experience.

A year and a half ago I could go in the store and buy a box of tissues for $0.99.
Now that same box of tissues has a price of $2.89.
That is just one example and I find that just about everything I put in my cart has jumped in price.
The experts in the government keep telling me that there is no inflation.
I guess they have never been shopping a day in their lives.
I get depressed when I think about these clowns controlling the future of this once great country.
