Hot Air's AllahPundit recycles a tired argument about conservatives sitting down and shutting up when the RNC sticks the goobers in the sticks with a liberal weenie candidate.
It's all about being on the winning team, donchaknow? A variation of "My tired Republican hack can beat up your tired Democrat hack!"
There's no debating these types: a philosophical difference of opinion spells doom for the Republican Party.
But make no mistake: this debate must be held and now's as good a time as any.
We agree with AllahP. more than we disagree. But that doesn't mean that it's not getting tiresome for conservatives/libertartians to be endlessly lectured about supporting--well, somebody, anybody, long as that magic "R" is tagged alongside the name.
Apparently, AP listened to some Glenn Beck and now sees disaster if conservatives decide they're tired of generic politicians and elect to stand on principle.
It's all mental shorthand for avoiding what used to called 'fighting the good fight'.
One crushing defeat away from total victory, in perpetuity. A question for Beck fans, borrowing a line uttered here by the man himself: What is the endgame? There’s a sense I get from watching Beck that he thinks there’s a supermajority out there willing to return to Founders-style libertarianism if only he and other conservatives hammer the message hard and long enough. I don’t think there is. And if I’m right that there’ll always be at least 40 votes or so in the Senate and 45 percent among the population for progressivism, how does he presume to enact the libertarian agenda while confronting the realities of congressional compromise?
Ahhh. The "endgame". What does the endgame for people like the good Allah turn out to be?

Let the rinos and diablos compromise. If not, they can go to their beloved rat party.
His take on the NY election, this evening, was very well thought out. You’ve got the liberal RINO, supported by ACORN, pro abortion, and you have the Democrat...then there’s an independent.
He said always before he was told he’d be wasting his vote on the independent, but in reality, he realized that voting for a RINO, who would then vote with the Dems is truly wasting his vote.
On the other hand, you’ve got Newt who says, he doesn’t care if she’s a RINO, vote party lines. Well, I for one am with Beck. What do we get from the wishy washy Republicans in Washington anyway, more of the same. So vote the “bums” out be they Republican or Democrat.
And in the NY race with no incumbent, we’ll see how things go.

I’m not a ‘scorched earth’ conservative. There are times, depending upon the district when hybrid candidates have to work—because that’s what is available, etc.
BUT, there’s too many instances where conservative Republicans are sacrificed for the likes of Lincoln Chafees, Arlen Specters or Dede Scozzafavas.
THAT’s where the RNCs and Newt Gingriches have to be called out and the battle joined over core principles.
...in my opinion, of course.
The party leadership have completely lost it.
There is a place for RINOs in liberal states where no one else can get elected. In that case, what I call a “good” RINO is one that talks as liberal as she likes, and votes liberal most of the time, but VOTES WITH THE LEADERSHIP WHEN THE VOTE IS NEEDED.
Snowe and Collins used to be good RINOs. They voted with the party when one more vote was needed to pass or defeat critical bills.
They don’t do that any more, however. Why not? Because leadership is no longer doing its job. Snowe voted for porkulus, which would not have passed without her critical vote. And the leadership did NOTHING to punish her for that violation. So, why shouldn’t she vote for Obamacare, since evidently there will be no punishment for that, either?
So, you lose your good RINOs because the leadership don’t know how to run a party any more.
And there is NO EXCUSE to run a flaming RINO in a safe Republican district. NONE. Sure, Scozzafava was stuffed in there by a corrupt local politician. But she wouldn’t have done that if she hadn’t known that the national leadership would back her, no matter what she chose to put forward. And she was right. The national leadership has revealed itself to be weak, corrupt, and stupid. Michael Steele announced that pro-abortion Republicans were just dandy, as far as he was concerned. That was an invitation to anoint someone like this for the job.
Well, as far as I’m concerned, the Republican party has about one more week to live. If they don’t straighten out, fire these losers from the RNC and the rest of the party apparatus and start making some sense, then they are done. They will follow the Whigs down the drain of history, and another party will rise to take their place.
I hear that. I know the GOP has to be strategic. All day rinos in lib districts. But run a lib in a conservative district is ludicrous and highly insulting.

AP gets it sometimes and needs to leave the stage most times. In the end, all AP cares about is getting hits on the links it seems.
Wrong. Now is the only time left. If we don't prevail in the present contests we and the Constitutional free market USA are finished.
If the Republican party disintegrates now there is no space for a replacement party at all. The Left is in power and moving so hard for socialism that without opposition they will attain it and then it will not matter what parties form or what names they choose. Ask the British. If the Republican continues with a RINO party-label-is-the-only-consideration leadership then the result will be the same. This is the Wall and we are up against it. That’s a RINO over there walking toward us with something thal looks like blindfolds.
Allahpundit is a good source for material of the Islamic War. I leave them at that.
I think now is the time for being a scorched earth conservative.We always get screwed by the rinos and it is time that stopped.
So Beck decided to stand on ‘principle’ and oppose the Rs, like he was ever a part of it to begin with.

I owe no blind allegience to the GOP. What have they done for me lately? Nothing that’s what. The GOP has used up every chance we’ve given them. They’re out of Chance cards.
I’ve been disturbed by all of this RINO-initiated criticism of Palin and Glenn Beck for a few months now. But lately, it’s really been pissing me off.
You know, sometimes I wonder if I’m in a minority. But then I put in some FR time and realize that it’s a large minority.
