Massive numbers of immigrants always change the culture of their new home. People have argued against all the waves that have hit America would change the culture and each time they were actually right. Some of the changes were for the good such as new foods, and many were not. The problem unique to the waves of immigrants arriving in Britain is the percentage of Muslims. Despite a rather tolerant attitude toward religion on the part of the British, the new waves are not tolerant in return. They are viral in their aggressiveness and will attempt to change more then the eating habits of the British. They will not stop until they have turned Britain into the same sort of counties that they have fled, Islamic and intolerant.
Consider a Congressman knocking down ...what? about $180K a year—and that’s just seed money. The real dough comes from the “contributions” you get, the deals you’re let in on, the stock tips, the IPO’s, etc. Then there is the free limos, airplanes, free health club, free restaurant, free health care and big fat retirement, and if you can hang around long enough for a committee chairmanship—it all doubles or triples.
Now consider that 10 or 15 thousand of the right immigrants helps you hold that job, and another 5 or 8 or 12 million immigrants nationwide helps your party hold the majority and all the power that comes with it—
Wouldn’t that make a lot of these people big pushers for more immigrants and special favors for the ones already here and for ACORN to register them and no voter ID law ETC ETC???

This is horrible policy to follow, regardless of intentions. No doubt Labour figured they’d have a nice peaceful multicultural society when it was over. What they will get is one of two outcomes: Either the Muzzies will continue to grow in strength until they DEMAND an Islamic state - which will start a civil war, or the Brits will elect a serious nationalist that will attempt to expel the Muzzies before the Muzzies are ready for combat (but still ignite a civil war). Horrible policies lead to horrible outcomes.

I had a friend who was born in England in 1896 - she remembered Queen Victoria's funeral cortege. She died 10 years ago at 103.
Her last visit ‘home’ in the early ‘80’s was heartbreaking to her. “It's not England anymore.” she lamented.

Yep. Those upon whom the multicultural demographics have beset, are too immersed in their own sub-intelligent universe, video games, pot, sexx, or sports subcultures. Large-scale immigration to Britain has been continuing throughout the last 50 years. Over that period as a whole, the percentage of Muslims is not nearly as high as tends to be assumed on this forum. Yes, there are plenty of Muslims: but there have always been large numbers from countries where there are few or no Muslims, including those with vigorous Christianity; and from cultures (such as Hindu or Sikh) with long experience of dealing with threatened Muslim hegemony. For that reason the growth in Muslim influence, or indeed control, is nothing like as inevitable as Freepers tend to suppose.
Whether or not the claims in this article are true (and I'd like to see rather harder evidence than the casual recollections of a former speech-writer) it's disingenous to suppose that it's all the current government's fault. This has been a slow burn for fifty years. Over that period governments of both parties have, for various reasons, taken their eyes off the ball. Many recent immigrants are a direct consequence of the original large waves in the 1950s and 60s, through the import of spouses for second and third generations, or of extended family members. In the early period it was Conservative governments who saw immigration as a solution to labour shortages: while it was a Labour government (Callaghan's in the 1970s) which introduced the first serious immigration controls.
