In the Obama White House, the new adage never let a crisis go to waste has highlighted the Presidents overwhelming domestic agenda. So much so, in fact, that it is clear the President is missing opportunities to make real changes, and is instead delivering empty promises, growing problems, and enlarging the national debt.
Set against the backdrop of some $12 trillion in debt, the President is calling for even more spending in the form of health care reform, which the CBO estimates will cost upwards of $1 trillion. While health care reform is an important issue, the President has failed to address the real crisis: exploding debt and entitlement reform.
With such abstract numbers, many Americans may not realize what an out-of-control deficit means for the immediate future of our country. Paying for the nationalization of our auto-industry, the bank bailouts, and Barack Obamas venture to create Americas first health insurance company, will create an environment of spending where we can expect higher taxes and higher interest rates. People will be working harder and keeping less of their money. This is un-American.

Medicare Part D.
Wait, that was a RINOpublican creation.
Also, since meds for seniors are now covered, there is a bit of a “fire wall” built up, against the seniors wanting very much “change” -— they have most of what they might be able to get, and they don't want anything taken away from them!
I am an insurance agent. Yes, Part D is a pain in the neck for me, but -— politically, it might be part of what kills or slows socialized medicine this year.
Part D and the whole of Medicare, as well as Social Security, are wholly un-Constitutional.
ending entitlement?
Not even the GOP would do that.
Could we at least means test? Boot off some illegals?
Got to start somewhere.
Do you wish to make things better, or do you wish to simply attack those who are trying to make things better?
It is IMPOSSIBLE to get elected, to ANYTHING in this country, with a platform of abolishing SS and Medicare.
I don’t like it, but we are stuck with these programs.
Do not expect conservative politicians to commit political suicide over things we can not change.
Just like it's impossible to dismantle the Departments of Energy and Education, eh?
Or how it's "impossible" to accomplish anything substantive by voting for third-parties, nevermind the fact that Doug Hoffman in NY-23 is poised for victory.
SS and Medicare are both un-Constitutional programs that will ultimately engulf the Federal government.
The cold hard reality is that either conservatives will take charge and get rid of them...or the open markets will do the job that conservative "surrender monkeys" are unwilling or unable to do themselves because they are afraid of doing what is "impossible."

You nailed it.
Hoffman does not advocate abolishing Social Security.
Hoffman does not advocate abolishing Medicare.
Politics is the art of the possible.
I support Hoffman, and I do think he has a chance.
I know he will NOT have a chance if he has to carry the platform that you propose.
Politics is the art of getting re-elected.
Sure, you get some short-term gains, but if you fail to think and act long-term, your efforts are for nothing.
