London, October 25 (ANI): Michelle Obama has become the subject of a new book that hails her style and wardrobe for influencing the fashion pages.
“Mrs O: The Face of Fashion Democracy”, published by Hachette, celebrates the US First Lady’s closet from the campaign trail to the White House.
The tome glances at the mum-of-two’s designer dresses to affordable brands with more than 120 pictures, reports the Telegraph.
It also features interviews from some of Michelle’s favourite designers, such as Isabel Toledo, Jason Wu, Michael Kors, Maria Pinto and Isaac Mizrahi.
Mary Tomer, 28, who works in advertising for Bartle Bogle Hegarty in New York, said: ‘I was captivated by this very dynamic professional woman who was confident wearing such striking feminine clothes.
‘She was just as happy wearing off-the-rack outfits for 150 dollars as she was choosing interesting young designers in high fashion. It was such a change for a woman in politics where if you think of style at all, it’s all boxy suits.’
Simon Doonan, the British creative director of Barneys, the chic New York clothing store Barneys, also praised Michelle, often dubbed the First Lady of Fashion, saying. ‘Mrs Obama has a nuanced but creative style of dressing.
‘She is a connoisseur who knows how to go beyond a purely conventional approach and inject her style with a dash of idiosyncracy. Nothing extreme, always appropriate, but never boring or conventional.’ (ANI)

Was this with the $500.00 sneakers? She may wear off the rack outfits but they come off the rack of a Paris boutique after spending gobs of taxpayer money flying over there to pick them up. By the time she flys home with these "off the rack" outfits they're probably north of $5000.00 each compliments of the US taxpayer.
I kinda liked that Black Widow thingy she wore in Chicago that first night. Hoped it would catch on. Not too late.

It was hysterical on election night watching libs defending the dress. "Black Widow spider? What black widow spider? Don't you know black widows are black with red hourglasses, (insert expletive here)". Or, "I thought it was beautiful, but would have liked it better without the sweater".
Even the runway model couldn't make that monstrosity look good.

I think the universe is bifurcating. Productive, sane, rational conservative/libertarian theists on one side, parasite progressive atheists on the other.
The "distance" between the universes is expanding, so we're still able to exchange information across the boundary (like books and stories about how MO is beautiful and stylish, etc.), but the data passing across the barrier becomes increasingly divergent from the world state on our side.
It's either that, or a "They Live" scenario is in play, and we've all got the glasses.
There is also a BOOK AND A MOVIE comming, about the life- biography of obamas mother... sheeesh.
Fashion, sure, you just have to love these people who fawn over Michelle Obama's 'fashion'.
