Obama vs the American Businessman
Big Government ^ | 10/24/2009 | Peter Schwiezer

Posted on 10/25/2009 7:21:43 AM PDT by SeekAndFind

Okay, it’s time to finally admit it: Barack Obama hates businessmen. Not just certain businessmen, mind you, but the entire profession.

Of course President Obama will deny this. He told Businessweek magazine in a recent interview that he is not anti-business and that he believes in the private sector. But the evidence is overwhelming, and it helps explain why he is pursuing kamakazi-like economic policies that will damage the private sector in America.

Obama has demonized just about every business sector in America. Through the 2008 campaign to the present, he has gone after credit card companies, the coal industry, mortgage companies, real estate companies, steelmakers, utilities, drug companies, doctors, oil companies, Wall Street, defense contractors, and health insurance companies, just to name a few. In each case he has dinged them for greed, taking excessive profits, and failing to put people first. His criticisms have not been over minor matters but over their basic core functions, and their values or lack of them.

Obama demonstrates almost complete ignorance about the private sector and it’s no wonder: he has so little experience in it. He has spent his adult life in college, teaching college, and organizing communities. The one private sector job he has held, for a consulting firm in New York, he recounts as a terrible experience. In his memoirs he describes the experience as working for a private business “like a spy behind enemy lines.” He also recounts in his memoirs that the multinational corporations in the Indonesia of his youth were propelling the average worker “into deeper despair.” He likened the presence of corporations in his native Africa to a form of “neocolonialism.” Michelle Obama has beseeched young people, “We left corporate America, which is a lot of what we are asking young people to do. Don’t go into corporate America. You know, become teachers, work for the community, be a social worker, be a nurse….move out of the money-making industry, into the helping industry.”

This is, of course, the Obama Cosmotology. The private sector is largely populated by devils, who are self-oriented, concerned about personal gain, and unconcerned about others. The government, on the other hand, is made up of people bathed in altruism, whose only concern is you. Thus it is quite easy for Obama to recall the divide between the private and public sector as “enemy lines” even though he would never call the Iranian Mullahs, Hugo Chavez, or Vladimir Putin an “enemy.”

All of this begs the question: does Obama’s demonizing of business simply reflect his lack of experience in the private sector or is it based on a well-thought out analysis? In short, is it based on ignorance or ideology? While we can’t know what Obama’s deeper thoughts actually are, it does seem pretty clear that Obama has at least some sense that the free market is people voluntarily exchanging money for a good or service they want. After all, this is a man who has made millions selling books. Surely he has to understand basic economics? The darker interpretation of this is the Obama knows that the private sector creates wealth and prosperity and that it wages war on it anyway because his ideologically driven agenda is more important to him that the economic health of the country he is supposed to be protecting. Say it isn’t so….

I was listening to Mark Levin the other night, and he was playing an audio clip with Obama saying something like (and I paraphrase) "I am pro business, I believe in private property ownership..." and I swear I hear Mark Levin nearly spit out whatever drink he had in his mouth...

Obama and other liberals have discovered that they can tell any lie they wish, or shred whatever part of the Constitution they don't like, and there are no ramifications.

Both are mutually inclusive.

Obama is NOT very intelligent, has a huge ego, and craves power. Easy pickings for far more powerful elements who are manipulating him. Soros? He is just one of many.

Obama has been on an all out assault on American business - from Brokerages, Bank, Drugs, Energy, Mining, Coal, Insurance.

There is not one US business that Obama does not dislike. To Obama, Government is the only business that America needs.

Obama abhors capitalism. This is apparent not only in domestic policies, but also in his foreign policy.

And in that thought, he has plenty of company.

Over 50 million more or less.

I am listening to Internet radio today (today is NFL day, and I am not someone who is going to boycott them until Rush Limbaugh does...:) and they have a lot of ads from the “Ad Council”. Now, it could be me, but this “Ad Council” sounds like the most uber-liberal organization there must be.

They had an ad looking for volunteers for the Peace Corps. Now, I don’t necessarily have an issue with that organization, I think if people want to do it, power to them, even though it sounds like a complete starry-eyed liberal “we are the world” type of thing.

But what did bother me was the tone of the ad...those of you who go out and work for a living are being selfish and self-centered in the capitalistic pursuit of the almighty dollar.

Where do these morons think the money to fund the Peace Corps comes from? Do they think it just grows on trees?

Oh, wait. I just answered my own question. What a bunch of libtards. I don’t even need to reference Margaret Thatcher’s quote about socialism...

I believe it is both. Look at the hatred of and contempt for traditional America and the communist ideology of the mother he was born to. Look at the ideology of the marxist sperm donor he idealized. Look at the hatreds and ideology of the people we know of as his associates- past and PRESENT. NOT A HAPPY CAMPER TO BE FOUND. ESPECIALLY SOROS.

And all this poisonous self pity and hatred - indulged and sympathized and supported by two of America's most successful entrepreneurs, Warren Buffet and Bill Gates. Yeesh.

On the other hand, if the next two national elections prove, beyond a resonable doubt, that ACORN owns the ballot box and stole the 2008 presidential and Al Franken Elections all bets are off and the clock starts ticking.

Government can provide jobs but not job growth. Government jobs are based upon taxation on business income and wages on jobs produced by business.

Government jobs based upon debt is like taking your own money and paying yourself to work.

Just like you did Shelly? Yeah we should all get a no show 6 figure job at a hospital steering medicaid patients to other hospitals. The problem is most of us don't have the option of marrying a Marxist senator to give our careers a jump start.

Peace Corps ads are massaging the egos of folks that think that way to get them enlist. It’s smart advertising.

No one is going to buy if the message is “business is where you should be, you’re appreciated and due to a big raise - plus you’re making the world a better place. But please consider giving it all up to sleep in tents, drill wells and clean latrines.”

It’s just the way it is.

"Obama is NOT very intelligent, has a huge ego, and craves power."

Doesn't matter his IQ, ego or appetite for power.
zerO is a beard.
Period.

"Easy pickings for far more powerful elements who are manipulating him."

Not manipulating, controlling.
Literally a puppet, and one who at best made a Faustian deal. Merely playing jester the clowns.

"Soros? He is just one of many."

Uh-huh, bingo.
Just change "many" to "select group. ;^)

It seems pretty obvious to me that the 44th POTUS is not a believer in capitalism. His policy priorities are very anti-business and defy all logic in the midst of a major economic crisis. Unfortunately, the media is also acting irrationally and reports on whatever the WH communicates as the news without question. It’s almost as if it’s a conspiracy to fool Americans into a world of lost sensibility.

I work in a business for profit. We treat our employees well, conduct ourselves ethically and comply with the law like 99.99% of all the other businesses we deal with. We pay our taxes, provide jobs, provide employee insurance coverage, participate in community services, give to charitable contributions and produce products and services that our customers want. Our employees are professionals and reject the notion of the need for third party (union) to represent them. We consider ourselves a family and feel good about what we do.

Businesses like this are the engine that makes America work. With our technology and our productive work force, we can compete with companies all over the world. Why “The Leader” of the free world wants to destroy businesses like ours is a frightening proposition. It will rip apart the very fabric of this country. I can only discern that he knows this, and must have the most unthinkable reasons for his intentional drive to ruin the very thing that made America great.

I hope regular citizens realize this before it’s too late. Once gone, these types of businesses will never return.

LOL

Guess this means he likes businessWOMEN.

The Odumbo can go after small business all he wants to. Believe me, we’re all smarter than he is, and most of us have survivied crises in our lives that would send that immature, pantie-waist puttz and his ‘team’ into fetal positions.

Can anyone say “cash economy” and “family-owed and operated business”?

Obama had no problem cashing the publishing company checks for earnings on his books which allowed him to buy the mansion in Chicago and allowed Michelle to buy the designer clothes.

I wonder if those social workers ever get to jet off to New York on a private plane for a date night. How many teachers can have Earth Wind & Fire over to the house for a private concert? I suspect not many nurses wear $500 Lanvin tennis shoes.

The Obama’s are no different than the other elites running the liberal plantation (Kennedy, Gore, Clinton, Rockefeller, Pelosi). They send their children to private schools, wear designer clothes, travel around the world on energy consuming and carbon emitting private jets, live in huge houses, eat at the best restaurants, and rub elbows with the Hollywood stars and eastern intellectuals. While living the high life they occasionally take time to preach to the masses about the need to serve their fellow man, conserve energy, and do with less for the common good.

It is unfortunate the masses can’t see through the arrogance and hypocrisy. Too many people are more concerned with American Idol and Dancing with the Stars than they are with the future of their nation.

Well, that would be one thing if it were just the Peace Corps. But have you listened to any of the administration officials, most notably Obama, speak to college kids at their commencement exercises?

This is the administrations ENTIRE approach to the economy. Which is the point of this article...they think EVERYONE should work for non-profit organizations.

All career politicians especially democrats who never held a real job or started a business are ignorant as to how economics works

They just respond to lobbyists pressure

That is why we are never going to get out of the recession and or depression while the democrats control congress and the WH

In fact we will be lucky to survive as a nation
