The GOP needs to shed its image as the "old white guy party," Jeb Bush said this week.
Speaking at George Washington University, Bush said Republicans need to reach out to a more diverse group of voters.
"You don't have to be a rocket scientist to realize that in order for a political party to be successful it has to reach out to everyone," Bush said, according to the GW Hatchet. "In politics, you never win when you say 'us and them.' We need a more welcoming message."

We will have no more of those candidates

Well the GOP’s affirmative action chairman is a disaster. If they felt they had to have a black man they should have chosen one who is a conservative first.

Let’s all reach out like McCain! I am lucky to be alive after getting caught in the stampede of Black and Hispanic voters that were rushing to vote for McCain since he reached out so damned much. Two words that turm me off completely to any candidate are “Reach out.” From the time I read those words, it completely disqualified Jeb Bush from ever getting my vote, no matter who he is running against. We run Republicans like that, we deserve the likes of Obama or worse.
How about being a party of Americans with no hyphens regardless of ethnic background? Although I don’t publicize it in my profile I am not a “white guy” old or young, I’m an American. And by the way, it’s about time for the white majority to stop apoligizing for being the white majority. That’s just how it is in this country. That’s the basis for our shared American culture with the Blessings of Liberty being secured for all Americans. I, as someone who is not ethnically European glory in our shared American culture that could only have come out of the European enlightenment.
The fact that our unique American culture is based not on ethnicity or blood ties, but on shared principles of freedom and liberty is what should be celebrated. Everyone who denigrates that is free to go somewhere else, another one of our great freedoms.
Oh, yeah, let’s keep voting for Republicans!

I learned two things in the course of my “old white guy” life. First, that when old white guys hold out their hand...it gets bitten, and second...that the GOP is is a piss poor excuse for a friend.
Here’s a crazy idea, Jeb; why not reach out to conservatives of all colors. Your party might even when an election again!

As I said on a previous post, I will take no advice from the Bush family. They just want to grow the family business (government). Dad gave us the Clintons. Son gave us Obama. Thanks a lot.
Interesting, after these old and becoming more demented RINOs got theirs, they seem to have resigned from reality…sounds a little bit racist to be making statements about the color of anyone’s skin plus a somewhat biased against the elderly. If they are addressing population demographics, well then start being Conservative and Americans first, the rest will fall in line! Not only did Ronald Reagan prove this, he made asses out of everyone of you RINOs, being the un-American human debris (aka POS) that you are.

Can I just say this. The things that “white people” believe in are universal. God, Freedom, The Pursuit of Happiness, Morals etc. Why do they think that is a “white mans” belief. I think you're right -- but it won't be just the GOP. I think the whole country is more than ripe for a complete realignment. I've no idea how long the whole process will take or how it will all shake out, but I think it's coming. Both parties seem to have a sclerotic leadership that has little to do with the people they purport to represent.
Jeb need never fear being elected a President.
