A hate crimes bill, which was passed by the U.S. Senate on Thursday and sent to President Obama for his signature, will serve to muzzle Christian writers, preachers, and teachers who still possess the temerity to advocate Biblical values.
Mr. Obama has made a pledge to the gay and lesbian community that the bill will become law before the end of October.
Matt Barber, an attorney for Liberty Counsel, says that the President desires to "throw a bone to homosexual activists because they have been breathing down his neck...and this is a way to hold them off."
Attorney Barber believes that the legislation will result in the arrests of anyone who publicly decries alternative lifestyles. "Unfortunately, it places Christians -- people of faith, people who have traditional values relative to sexual immorality...in an untenable position," he maintains

Wouldn’t this new law make half of our existing laws “hate crimes”? Porn, incest, bestiality and pedophilia are “alternative” sexual lifestyles as well.
Congress and Obama are going to be put out of office and hopefully in jail cells where they belong.
This truly is the first major step to getting an "in" to state-persecution of Christians for their beliefs. The Church is the last major bulwark against open, militant, oppressive sexual perversion washing over society. So the Church must be dealt with severely - expect this to happen quickly with this leak in the dam.

When the first priest, minister or rabbi is arrested for what he or she preaches from their church or synagogue, it is then time for an armed revolt....time for the shooting to start.
Yes...it’s not hard to see what’s coming...Christians are being driven to the margins of society. While the first amendment will continue to allow free practice of religion, the civil and future criminal costs will begin to be prohibitve.
By 2050 there will only be underground Christian churches.

This "government" is way out of line in it's prejudice, protecting and honoring only a small segment of society.

So - line up in a small town - proclaim the Faith together & just keep coming until they run out of (1) policemen (2) holding cells (3) judges. Insist on jury trials - object to anyone except Christians on the jury. Sue under The Constitution that Congress shall make no law............

You can bet money the socialists have a decoy Christian “trial” waiting in the wings to play over and over on CNN. They stage this stuff just like the movies.
The crunch will come when local police and prosecutors that would normally identify themselves as 'Christian' are required by this 'hate crimes' law to arrest and prosecute a Christian minister/evangelist that speaks out against homosexuality as a sin, clearly defined as such in the Holy Bible that has been extant for centuries.
Of course, Islam and every major religion in the world condemns homosexuality so actually enforcing this faux 'hate crimes' law may become impossible, unless the religious somehow collectively agree to simply stop preaching/teaching that homosexual behavior is termed a sin in the bible and other holy books that support most religions, including Islam. Fat chance.

Yes, the desire to push Christianity to the margins and out of the picture is overwhelmingly evident in the language of today's average liberal. Instead of underground, they boldly use the terms, "inside their own walls", a rather restrictive space, but deliberately used.
Of course, the pastor in Sweden wasn't protected by the walls of his Church when he was arrested for "disparaging" homosexuality and offending homosexuals' sensibilities. We can expect the same here.
Fortunately, general law enforcement (state, local, county) will not be directly involved. It’s a federal thang, the ‘Mo’s will call the ACLU and the ACLU will sue and then the feds will investigate and have to bring hate crimes charges against whomever. I don’t see local cops ever getting involved....until they’re conscripted into Obama’s SS.
However, it won’t take long before the constitutionality of this bill gets challenged. Once the ACLU starts suing a couple hundred preachers/ministers things will get moving.
Suit wearers come pre-roped.
Noncompliance is the best way to defeat this kind of mind control. Defy it at every opportunity, and challenge the fascists to do their worst.

Even a milspec tie would snap under the stress of, say, a Barney Frank-level load.
There is absolutely no way that you or I, as Christians, could go to jail because of this law unless we pick up a monkey wrench, go onto the street, and bash in some kid's skull. In that case, we were going to jail anyway (hence, my point, that this is a meaningless law). Comparing what happened in the Netherlands or Canada, where they do not have the same protections that we do in our constitution, it a faulty premise. If it were the truth, a Christian prosecutor in a small town could put everyone who spoke against Christ in jail because it would qualify as a hate crime against religion.

Nothing in the law makes any of that illegal.
The law only provides that, if you kill or physically assault someone, your penalty can be increased if your act was motivated by bias against the victim's sexual preference. It makes nothing illegal which wasn't already illegal; it merely ups the penalties for certain crimes based on the criminal's motives.
Of course increasing the penalties for what a person happens to be thinking violates equal protection, but what the hey they’re just words.
I’m wondering how prosecutors intend to go about proving motive. Will the sexual orientation of the victim alone serve as a priori evidence of “hate”? What if a heterosexual is assaulted by someone who THINKS he’s gay? And what happens to people who use the term “gay” disparagingly in a confrontation that eventually erupts into physical violence?
Hate crime legislation has always been draconian. With this, it becomes Orwellian.
I can easily recall just a few years ago when the gay rights groups in my state (Connecticut) claimed they 'only' wanted the right to adopt. Well, our liberal legislature gave gays that legal right - and the next year they were right back with demands for 'gay marriage'. It took a few years - but they finally got that, too. The Gold Ring for gay rights groups. Marriage between same-sex couples is now the law in Connecticut....and it only took a few years to get to that point.
Anyone can find all sorts of reasons to deny that 'hate crime' laws will lead to Christians being arrested and possibly jailed for preaching biblical admonitions against homosexuality but history demonstrates that gays will never stop pushing lawmakers, who are usually responsive to their demands, until their behavior is not only protected under the law, but anyone daring to criticize homosexual behavior, even by quoting scripture, will be silenced and punished. Besides, it's almost guaranteed that a leftist judge will be happy to find that 'hate speech' can be stretched to include quoting the bible when it condemns homosexual behavior.
Dark days for Christians are coming and betting on the letter of the law to spare the kind of oppression I've referenced may be comforting for now but will be worthless when the oppressors began to rule, which shouldn't take long at the rate our nation is devolving into a socialist wasteland.
