Democrats Allow ACORN To Have Authority Over Financial Institutions
Flopping Aces ^ | 10-24-09 | Curt

You have got to be kidding me:

During consideration of H.R. 3126, legislation to establish a Consumer Financial Protection Agency (CFPA), Democrats on the House Financial Services Committee voted to pass an amendment offered by Rep. Maxine Waters (D-CA) that will make ACORN eligible to play a role in setting regulations for financial institutions.

The Waters amendment adds to the CFPA Oversight Board 5 representatives from the fields of “consumer protection, fair lending and civil rights, representatives of depository institutions that primarily serve underserved communities, or representatives of communities that have been significantly impacted by higher-priced mortgages” to join Federal banking regulators in advising the Director on the consistency of proposed regulations, and strategies and policies that the Director should undertake to enforce its rules.

By making representatives of ACORN and other consumer activist organizations eligible to serve on the Oversight Board, the amendment creates a potentially enormous government sanctioned conflict of interest. ACORN-type organizations will have an advisory role on regulating the very financial institutions from which they receive millions of dollars annually in direct corporate contributions and benefit from other financial partnerships and arrangements. These are the same organizations that pressured banks to make subprime mortgage loans and thus bear a major responsibility for the collapse of the housing market.

Oh, Maxine and Barney will argue that they didn't specifically SAY members of ACORN could serve on the board but the fact remains that with this amendment it doesn't exclude them either. It allows ACORN to jump aboard and give them power they should never have.

97% of black voters voted for Barry Half-White..
BUT 3% of them are smart..

Statistics can seem to be very racist..
I hate it when that happens..

ACORN is a criminal organization, under investagation across the country. This is insane! But.....people like Waters know that no one is going to do anything about it. This has to change somehow. These people in the government need to, not only be run out of office, but run out of the country. They’re going to force racial tension and I believe they know it. If they don’t, they don’t deserve to be in office.

bankers need to expose this insanity loudly and be prepared to walk out and say HELL NO>

WE need some heroes on the frontlines here, to defy these facsists.

Imagine of last October 2008, when Paulson called our largest bank CEO’s into the Capitol, locked the door, and ordered them ALL to sign up for TARP, imagine if some had reacted like the passengers of Flt 93 .... instead of sheep...

Imagine if they had told that skank Paulson to get out of the way, they were calling the police to report false imprisonment, or were gonna use a conference table to break down the door and get out of that room.

You’re a racist if you call a TRUE racist, “racist”. Well, it’s time to speak the truth without fear.. Maxine Waters is, without a doubt, RACIST, and it’s an outright embarrassment that’s she’s a member of our Congress.

I'm beginning to understand A LOT about historical events and WHY in ways I never could conceive of prior to this current dictatorship.

An executive order on 1/20/2113 should read:

The following executive orders are hereby cancelled:
( insert multipage list of just their titles )
President #45

Thus restoring things to status quo ante. Bills worded similarly, but likely MUCH longer, should be introduced in the House and Senate a couple weeks earlier with the seating of the new Congress and should be passed ready for #45's signature in the first days. For both the line item selection criteria should be executive orders and bills that are generally considered to have made things worse so that the status quo ante is a known quantity and an improvement, although not necessarily ideal. Subsequent action, suitably prioritized, may be needed eventually to optimize things. Things that can't be safely fixed or improved without without more delicate changes than a legal eraser get pushed into subsequent reform rounds. Start fast and make shrinking not only the federal deficit, but also the currently active federal legal code, a priority. A LIST is clearly needed and some of it should be compiled in time for entry within the GOP platform.

Are all of her [Maxine Waters] voters stuck on stupid??

Her district is my old hood. I can tell you with 100% certainty that what you hear out of her mouth is representative of the thoughts and attitudes of 90% of her constituents.

She sounds brilliant to them.
