Luckily, that book was not required reading in my constitutional law classes. Had it been, I strongly suspect that I would have failed the Florida bar exam with flying colors.
Representative Steny Hoyer (D. Md.) was recently asked a series of questions by CNSNews about the constitutionality of the proposed mandate that all Americans purchase health insurance or pay a tax. His answers are more than a little revealing, particularly coming from a graduate of Georgetown Law School.

Hoyer doesn’t even know the difference between the words ‘promote’ and ‘mandate’ which immediately brings into question his ability as a lawyer to understand the Constitution. :)
right....but how do we find someone to challenge this that is competant ?

Is it time to get out the torches and pitchforks yet?

To the Liberals/Communists/ Socialists, the Constitution, if it exists at all, is only what 5 of 9 judges say that it is.And, they are hoping to replace the last swing vote so that they can get on with their plan of making America into a third world cesspool.
if Hoyer had any sense he wouldn’t be a democrat..
Long past time, but doubt it will ever happen. Widespread citizen outrage doesn't seem to happen unless orchestrated by the Media.
No lawyer here, but am intrigued by this discussion.
I have noticed that many times, Congress approaches an issue by threatening to withdraw federal funds if a state does not do this or that (such as set the speed limit at no more than 55). Doesn’t this imply that Congress has no power to do all sorts of things, and can succeed in imposing its will only indirectly? In this case it would be threatening to withdraw federal funds from any state that does not set up a Romneycare type program for its residents.
That’s a whole lot different from what they are trying to do.
I am waiting for the inevitable backpedal after someone educates him.
