A naked man gets arrested for making coffee in his home.
Apparently, 29-year-old Eric Williamson woke up Monday at 5:30 a.m. and went downstairs to make coffee in his Virginia home. At the same time, a neighbor was out walking with her 7-year-old and passed by the house. They saw Williamson brewing up a cup of joe in the nude and called police.
He was arrested for indecent exposure. Cops say they believe he wanted to be seen naked by the public.
Williamson, who is father of a five-year old girl, says he's the victim. Now he's meeting with a lawyer to fight the charge and may attempt to seek damages from Fairfax County Police.
If convicted on the misdemeanor charge, he would face up to one year in jail and a $2,000 fine.
It seems to me that it should be the neighbor who is arrested — for being a peeping tom!
‘passed by the house’.........where is the part about her walking through his yard???
Depends. Was he standing in front of a picture window with all the lights on looking out on the street? Otherwise, I agree with you.
Now if he could carry 2 cups of coffee AND a dozen donuts......
*cleaning coffee of screen now*** lol
In some areas, the houses sit on a lot about twice the square footage of the house.
Who’s out walking with their 7 year old at 5:30 am?
She follows Emo Phillips rule - you have to get up pretty early to catch me looking in your window.
Parents who take their child to a neighbor’s before leaving for the morning commute.
This story has changed somewhat from when I first read about it. I guess the deal is the guy allegedly exposed himself twice by moving to windows so that the boy and his mom would see him on purpose. Or so that’s why he was charged. I also noticed the 5:30 am thing has been left out in the latest reporting. 0.o
Scenario One. Naked man inside, woman looking through window. Arrest man for indecent exposure.
Scenario Two. Naked woman inside, man looking through window. Arrest man for window peeping.
The guy’s lucky he’s not in California, where an indecent exposure conviction gets you registered as a sex offender.
Personally, I judge these kind of things by looking at how overwrought the mother is. I watched a City Council meeting last night where some woman was going berserk over the fact that her neighbor, the registered sex offender, had installed a video camera pointed at the street. She initially started sounding somewhat rational, then began listing all the agencies she’d talked to that had ‘refused to help’, hyperventilating more which each one she listed. She’d created this whole scenario of what he was doing with the camera that existed entirely in her imagination.
The agencies she’d called kept pointing out to her that there wasn’t anything he could be doing with the camera that he couldn’t accomplish just as easily by looking out the window. She just wasn’t listening, though. Something tells me we’ll discover the guy put up the camera because his property was being vandalized, probably by her.
There’s lots of whackos out there, and if the prosecutor doesn’t do a good job of sorting them out, these laws can be really dangerous. It’s tougher to disprove a false ‘weenie wagging’ charge than it is to disprove a false rape charge.
And she was walking with her son.
That is not the same as if she had a 6 year old girl with her.
Be that as it may, she looked in his window. He was not out on the street.
There are some things that just happen. A phone call to him that some little girl might see him would have resolved it without cops, courts and lawsuits.
Sounds to me like she is a bitch.
“People who live in glass houses, should undress in the basement.”
Maybe she was just ticked off that her husband didn’t measure up.
Lets be constructive.
Where is the shrubbery?
How far is it from the street to the house?
Did she really need to cross the yard to get where she was going?
Where was she in the yard? Was she inside some natural shield from the street, such as trees, bushes, etc.
What is the window sill height? Was it a window to the floor or did she have to stand on her tip toes to see what she considered to be objectionable?
Someone said he moved around from one window to another. First I read of that, but so what? When you get your first cup of coffee, don’t you turn on the TV to get the morning news and weather?
Don’t you look out the window to see if it is raining or whatever?
Since you don’t know, it would be wise to wait until you do to condemn him.
I think he got a raw deal. Even if it was as she said, a phone call would have been enough.
I think he should bring peeping tom charges against her.
So guys walk their dog so they can look in windows. She walks her kid. Prosecute her for peeping and threaten to take the kid to DSS.
My old girlfriend had one of the best lines. Confronted by a flasher who opened his coat and called her attention to his display, she calmly looked, then, in her best compassionate voice said, “oh, you poor man”. He slumped away. Just deflated all his expectations.
He needs to sue her for trespassing. Also, didn’t I hear that he lost his job over this incident? He should sue her for his loss of a job for her peeping into his house. She didn’t HAVE to look, she CHOSE to look.
Shoot, I run nekkid through my house all the time. Well, okay, I wear socks or slippers.
This thing has gotten blown WAY out of proportion. The WOMAN is the perpetrator here, the MAN is the victim of her prudish political correctness.
And why was she using binoculars when she was looking into his window? How many people use binoculars when going on a morning walk?
Really?
How far is it to the street?
My guess is that it is a considerable distance, otherwise why would she have cut across the yard.
People usually don’t cut across if the yard is only 50 ft.
I suspect that he had reason to believe that either no one would see him or that they would be far enough away that they would see no “details”.
It would be wise to find out before condemning the guy.
How much light?
Light from the kitchen, light from the hall or full lights in the living room?
Was the TV on? Was he in that room to turn on the TV?
My point: Cops said he intentionally moved from window to window.
Really? Or was he doing what we all do...get up, turn on the TV, check the walk to see if it is wet, turn off the alarm, let the dog out, etc.
Need to know before judging the guy.
I have all the information I need to conclude the guy is a perv or stupid.
Would you please be kind enough to share your “evidence”.
There is no law against being stupid.
You are lucky in that regard.
Thinking . . . If some nosy Bitty is snooping around my windows at 5:30 in the morning, I am likely to look out a few different windows to see what the Hell is going on!
Yeah....
And with the .45 in hand.
it might complicate things, also, if he were making that cup of coffee with "one hand"...
I take it he doesn't like his coffee black?
Just this minute, before break, FOX announced they’ll be covering this story and talking with the ‘perp’....
Yep, this story is right in Fox News’ wheelhouse isn’t it?
