A majority of gun owners think President Obama wants to ban gun sales.
A new Gallup poll shows 55 percent of those who own a gun, 53 percent who have a gun in the household, and 41 percent of all Americans believe he will attempt to ban the sale of guns while he is president.
This concern is greater among Republicans and people living in the South and Midwest than among Democrats or those living on either coast.
It also helps explain the sharp increases in sales of guns and ammunition. There are reports that U.S. bullet-makers are working around the clock and still can't keep up with the demand for ammunition. Shooting ranges and gun dealers say they've never seen such shortages.(continued)

...and he needs fiber. He is cranky as hell.
CNN is a joke and Cafferty is the punchline.
..Jack must have come to this conclusion after many sleepless nights......idiot
They’re not worried Jack. They just want to make sure they have adequate ammunition to take out morons like you when the shooting starts! By the way asshole, have you DUI hit-and-run any cyclists lately????
Jack is correct. No need to ban guns when there is no ammo available to buy.
“The president has said that he believes in the Second Amendment and that “lawful gun owners have nothing to fear.”
Candidate and President Obama has said lots of things, Jack. That’s why we’re worried.
BTW, anyone else get a gander at the funky pic they ran of the gun owner and the rifle?
Let me guess...the joke begins with "A news anchor walks into a bar..."
I don’t pay attention to what The 0 says; it’s uaually a lie. I pay attention to what he does.
Everything this Tyrant has done (or undone) so far give every indication that banning gun sales is soon on the horizon. Sometimes real Americans “just know”.. Over 1 million guns were sold in the U.S. in the month of August alone, and there’s a reason for that.
What is that, Paul Bunyan’s AR-15?!
I take it CNN has resorted to reporting rhetorical questions as news.
CNN is really talk radio: Air Amerika
...Cafferty is a jerk-off....he was 35 years ago when he was on WHO in Des Moines too...hasn’t progressed one bit.
“Lawful” gun owners have nothing to fear, but we will narrow the class of people who are “lawful.”
If this was a comedy skit I would request a fact check.
Marxist dictators outlaw the tools of resistance hack ...um, I mean jack.
It’s what they do.
That's a "bottleneck," not a "shortage." Stupid writer.
Well, it’s like this Jack: That’s what he wants to do.
Obama says there’s nothing wrong with “common sense” gun laws...
That tells me all I need to know.

>>The president has said that he believes in the Second Amendment and that lawful gun owners have nothing to fear.
He’s right about that. WE have nothing to fear. But when his disastrous policies make the SHTF, his sycophants have plenty to fear because “there will be a rifle behind every blade of grass”.
Yes, we were so glad to see him go, as I recall. Floppy and Duane could do the news better.
| Jack Cafferty: Why are so many Americans worried Obama will try to ban gun sales? ANSWER: Because Obama is a wannabe.... |

I have one word for you, Jack: “Cling”
LOL!
ML/NJ
Hot damn that’s funny...
True. And they blame the right wing for that. I’m not so sure. I wouldn’t put it past this Admin to have found some way to grab it all up for Obama’s own little civilian army.
Funny. The government violates the Constitution almost daily and somehow, we’re supposed to believe they’ll stop at the Second Amendment just because they say they won’t? How many times did Adolf Hitler say he was satisfied before WWII started?
Just another example of how nowadays, people aren’t encouraged to think.
Jack is an ‘effing dumb ass if he has to aks that question.
....Cafferty always got his butt kicked back then by Paul Rhoades at KCCI....Rhoades had a down to earth style, unlike ego-maniac Cafferty.
Actually, the "angry man" syndrome is more often blamed on a clogged gallblader.
Why, no, Sheeple, Dear Leader doesn’t want to take your guns. Why ever would you think such nonsense?

“In a 2003 case, a resident of Wilmette, Ill., used a handgun to defend himself from a burglar with a drug habit and a long criminal record, breaking into his home for the second day in a row. Though authorities found the shooting justified, the armed citizen was charged with possessing a handgun in violation of Wilmette’s handgun ban.
Illinois lawmakers proposed legislation that would make self-defense an “affirmative defense” against prosecution for handgun possession in towns like Wilmette. Mr. Obama voted four times against the measure, which passed over his opposition, and over a veto by Illinois’ anti-gun governor, Rod Blagojevich, a long-time Obama ally.
Self-defense at home or outside the home - it’s all just as bad to Mr. Obama.
In 2004, he said he was “consistently on record and will continue to be on record as opposing concealed carry,” and that he’d back “federal legislation that would ban citizens from carrying weapons, except for law enforcement.” Mr. Obama had already put that anti-self-defense belief into action in 2001, voting against a state Senate bill that would have allowed people who receive protective orders - such as domestic violence victims - to carry firearms”
The Executive branch is run by Maoists who recognize that all power comes from guns. I thank them for the reminder. I see that as instructive in the defensive path that must be taken.
Hmmm! He is full of it in any case.
No kidding. I was at the SW shooting range the other day and they were low on all the big stuff. Plenty of nine amf twenty two’s but much larger. You’d think they would me able to get it.

As a portrait artist myself, I can admire the skill here - but I could never work on a portrait of him - I'd be puking before the first minute of painting was done
I believe that banning gun sales is way down on 0bamas agenda, too many other socialist irons in the fire right now.
He will get around to it eventually.
From the article itself:
The president has SAID that he believes in the Second Amendment and that "lawful gun owners have nothing to fear."
But then it says:
Mr. Obama's record as a state legislator and U.S. senator where he "voted for the most stringent forms of gun control."
Where in the world is common sense? Over and over I hear people say, "But He SAID!"
Where are their brains? NEVER ever ever listen to what a politician says. Watch WHAT he DOES and how he VOTES!
Thanks for those quotes. I’m noting them and keeping them handy.
Do you remember Tony Powers? Worked together with him at the Job Service office after he left sports.
He needs to buy a clue.
Unfortunately, he wouldn’t get it even if it were printed on a giant clue mallet and smacked into his face repeatedly.
He asks that as if it's our responsibility to defend our attitudes till he's satisfied or to change them. In reality, he should be asking what Obama is doing or what the Democrats have done in the past that would give rise to the fear and change THAT. It's their job to satisfy us that they're leaving us alone to an acceptable degree, not our job to lower our standards so they pass. This guy spent too long in some little league where everyone got a trophy.
The problem isn’t so much that people are buying it up as it is that there’s a shortage of brass for ammo. That is an artificial shortage.

Like most journalists, CNN morning anchor Jack Cafferty would prefer to cover news than make it. Especially when it's bad news.
But Tuesday, a stunned Cafferty was greeted by photographers as he went into a midtown Manhattan court to plead guilty in connection with a hit and run accident.
According to the criminal complaint, Cafferty was driving a Cadillac with a New Jersey Press license plate on Ninth Avenue near 42nd Street May 14th when he allegedly made an abrupt turn and hit bicyclist Billy Maldonado.

has a handy list of anti-gun groups funded by Joyce Foundation
^
Someone else in the Obozo administration has ties to Joyce; can’t think of who it is offhand, though
Like this crap, perhaps?
“...During Obamas tenure, the Joyce Foundation board planned and implemented a program targeting the Supreme Court. The work began five years into Obamas directorship, when the Foundation had experience in turning its millions into anti-gun grassroots organizations, but none at converting cash into legal scholarship.
The plans objective was bold: the judicial obliteration of the Second Amendment.
Joyces directors found a vulnerable point. When judges cannot rely upon past decisions, they sometimes turn to law review articles. Law reviews are impartial, and famed for meticulous cite-checking. They are also produced on a shoestring. Authors of articles receive no compensation; editors are law students who work for a tiny stipend.
In 1999, midway through Obamas tenure, the Joyce board voted to grant the Chicago-Kent Law Review $84,000, a staggering sum by law review standards. The Review promptly published an issue in which all articles attacked the individual right view of the Second Amendment.”
