It's Not a War Against FOX News
The New Media Journal ^ | Oct 22, 2009 | AJ DiCintio

Posted on 10/22/2009 8:48:07 AM PDT by NewMediaJournal

Last weekend, the White House fired some of its biggest guns at FOX News. But tempted as we are, we cannot allow ourselves to speak of a war because the attack represents just one battle in a conflict whose scope is profoundly greater than the current administration’s attempt to crush a cable news channel it regards as an enemy.

Moreover, the actual war, which has as its object the imposing of liberal ideology upon the nation by using every social/political weapon except the ballot box, was begun in earnest more than fifty years ago by a group that represents 18% of the population but has nevertheless won victory after victory by the relentlessly employing a strategy that only minds possessed of a Gulliverian arrogance can love.

Think of it.

I truly believe that the focus on Fox and Health Care is to take our minds off of other things that this Administration is doing. Be careful folks, there’s more than meets the eye going on.

Sorry, it's a war against anyone critical of the WH/democrats. It's not an grand ideological battle that some would like to dream. It's not Lord of The Rings.

FNC is not a ideological station, it leans more conservative than MSM, but it has a huge variety of shows and opinions. Many of the opinions are DC conservative establishment in nature. Hannity is an RNC hack for example.

The time of optimistic conservative dreams 1994 is long over, killed by the republican party.

“Let’s hope Obama’s assault on FOX News causes every common sense citizen to think about the full meaning of that warning.”.....

You bet it does! The radical left has been busy for a long time with their agenda of a government takeover of our lives. They have been patient and quietly going about their takeover of the country. In the schools, in the courts and all branches of government. But something has happened. Enough already!!! Even with all this, they have run into a buzz saw....A buzz saw of hatred from American citizens who will not go quietly into the night! There is going to be hell to pay for all the socialist garbage they are trying. It’s to much to fast and voters are throwing up!

I enjoy Glenn Beck. He’s entertaining and he has the knack to lay things out to make people think. If only more people would listen to him. He may not be always correct, nobody is perfect, but he makes you think.

The attack against FOX is an attack against anything or anyone that dares to criticize Socialism. Obama is a useful “idiot” for Soros and his ilk. This is why I reject the comparison of Obama to Hitler. The latter ran the political party and Germany, but Obama is run by others. He is a tool. When it comes to Obama, there is no there, there. The lights are on, but nobody is home.
Is there any doubt that those controlling Obama would shut down all criticism of Socialism if they had the opportunity? Instead, we are going to hear newspeak, such as “fairness” or “neutrality.”

Glenn Beck's main point yesterday.

Was a nice presentation.

However, i sent him an e mail this morning with a correction.

The "coin" is not Foxnews.

The "coin" is the current Potus. the sleight of hand is what is happening to this country.

That's what we need. More people to start thinking and applying Common Sense. Another Beck theme. That's why I was furious about the N.C. City that was trying to change their ballots to be nonpartisan, only to be told by DOJ they could because blacks wouldn't know how to vote. Is that really what our Govt. thinks about us? We are too stupid to think and reason, come to a decision without having a D or R behind the candidate's name! Infuriating! But alas, that is what most of the citizenry has been trained to NOT do over the last 50 years...don't think, just sit back and watch some TV, have a beer. Don't worry the ________ party will run the country for you. BULL$#!t

I found this segment of the show interesting.

Glenn Beck: Progressives Three Tactics.
http://www.glennbeck.com/content/articles/article/198/32222/

The three things they continually use in disparaging any dissent are that those involved are: “wrong thinking”; the ideas presented are a “danger”; or that those opposed are simply in it for “profit.” Meanwhile, their goals are always right, their methods safe and healthy and their motivation pure, enlightened and for the betterment of humankind and Mother Earth.

If it is against Fox than it is against US, Fox tells the truth and exposes Obama's real agenda and that is why FNC numbers are growing incredibly and the Obama admin. knows it; Obama would love to control EVERYTHING just like they do in Venezuela and North Korea. He would love to tell us only what he wants us to know and he must be stopped. Thank God we have Fox News and talk radio and the internet so that we can get the truth, but they will try to take over all of it.

I am working with Team Sarah (Palin) and we are going over all the health care bills with a fine tooth comb. Right now I am searching for keywords on the Baucus bill, making sure they are not slipping things in with no one knowing--imagine searching a bill that is supposedly about health care using words like fire arms, homosexuality, unlawful immigration and other words you would not expect in such a bill--but we all know that the dems are scum and will use every trick in the book to push their liberal agenda.

If anyone has some free time, join us over there, we can use all the help we can get, look for the health care review board topic at teamsarah.org

Hannity is an RNC hack for example.

While that is true, I have to say that Sean doesn't just make things up the way the MSM does, he brings on the facts and also gives his opinion of those facts, but at least he doesn't bring up something unless he has something solid to back up his words, unlike the MSM. Beck is the same way, they may have opinions but it is based on facts. Sean spoke about the Bill Ayers-Rev. Wright connections ad nausem, but he was right. Obama did say to judge him by who he surrounds himself with, and while right now he is not surrounding himself with Ayers or Wright, the people he has appointed as Czars are cut from the same cloth. Those associations that Hannity tried to pound into everyone's head were very important because it showed the true colors of Obama.

"No experiment can be more interesting than that we are now trying, and which we trust will end in establishing the fact, that man may be governed by reason and truth. Our first object should therefore be, to leave open to him all the avenues to truth. The most effectual hitherto found, is the freedom of the press. It is, therefore, the first shut up by those who fear the investigation of their actions." --Thomas Jefferson to John Tyler, 1804

RE “ he brings on the facts and also gives his opinion of those facts, but at least he doesn't bring up something unless he has something solid to back up his words,

I posted (in a reply) a couple example clips I found and can find them. I need to post a vanity. Early September 2008 Hannity was arguing on his TV show that the economy was booming, low unemployment, low inflation and that any democrat claiming the economy had a problem was making it up. But three weeks later he was claiming that years earlier ‘ republicans warned us of the coming economic crash due to the housing market ’ but democrats ignored it (when republicans were in charge of congress, yet.) If republicans warned Hannity of the coming crash, why was Hannity claiming the economy was strong three weeks earlier? Apparently Hannity never got the warning, till after the crash. Moron!!

RE :” Sean spoke about the Bill Ayers-Rev. Wright connections ad nausem, but he was right.

I thought as a campaign strategy McCain jumping on Ayers the last week or so was a loser. But I heard Hannity the day before the election on his radio show claim that McCain was going to win the election because of Ayers. (Ann Coulter was there too.) I was driving and said “ Holy Crap, many of his listeners are believing this non-sense ” There was no way Ayers was going to change that election, jeeze, bailouts, market crash, housing crash,......Ayers????

Someone pinged me with a good example, when the CBO said Obama-care would create a huge deficit, Hannity called CBO “the Golden Standard”. Two months later the CBO says the Balkas health insurance bill will not increase the deficit or premiums, suddenly Hannity says the CBO is usually wrong. I did not hear this myself but it sounds like him.

Anyone with brains would not claim the CBO is always right because they know it can come back.

What I remember Hannity saying was that the CBO is usually wrong in terms of they are usually too low with their estimates—but they are right when it comes to what the dems say vs the CBO—just not right when it comes to actual figures—that is what he was saying. Bottom line CBO more believable than the Obummer admin. even when their figures are off.

Like I said, that one someone pinged me with. The other example I need to post as a vanity(youtube clips from his show) , classic RNC nonsense.

I am a retired teacher, and believe me Beck is a natural teacher. He knows who he is talking to. The intellectual critics should recognize who he is actually addressing, high school graduates that read at sixth grade level, and he makes it simple enough for them. Plus he is entertaining, most important thing.

I totally agree. I was not a teacher but I was a football coach for about 15 years. I coached young kids up through Freshmen in High School. What I learned was that complete and total honesty was key with these kids. They could take on any team if I was honest with them. Win or loose, I was honest with them. The American people are the same. As with kids, if you are dishonest, they will figure it out. They may not say anything for a long time, but when they figure it out and get tired of it, they will revolt. Americans are about at that point. Glenn gets people to think for themselves and ask questions. I did the same with my kids. I wanted them to think and react to different situations and use their brains.

Americans have to do the same today. For too long now, they have trusted our government to do the right thing and they are finding out that they are being used and led down the path of distruction if things don’t change.

Well I taught computer Science, so I was a resource as well, coaches in general were the only conservative allies I had. :)

I actually retired early because of all the Homosexual indoctrination we were being forced to attend, plus Christian Conservatives, were not welcome, so they began to make life miserable for me.

I ran into some of that. That’s why I got out of the school system of coaching. I had a teacher come out on the field on day and told me to run Johnny extra laps because he was goofing around in his class. I basically told him that this was not my problem. He had to handle his class and I had to handle my team. I told him that I understood where he was coming from but not to put punishing Johnny on me. He wouldn’t go to his math teacher to ask him to do that would he? He said no.....then he walked away. I then talked to Johnny and told him what was going on and that he best straighten his act up in class. This kid pulled a 4.0 from that point on. I checked on my kids grades all the time. The average grade of my team was 3.0. Not bad for a bunch of football players.
