After this weekend saw all the usual suspects like Rahm and Axelrod spouting to all the Sunday morning news shows (except Fox of course) about how todays Afghanistan issues are all Bushs fault because he turned over nothing except 8 years of being adrift there, Dick Cheney called them on it today in a major way.
"Recently, President Obamas advisors have decided that its easier to blame the Bush Administration than support our troops. This weekend they leveled a charge that cannot go unanswered. The Presidents chief of staff claimed that the Bush Administration hadnt asked any tough questions about Afghanistan, and he complained that the Obama Administration had to start from scratch to put together a strategy.
In the fall of 2008, fully aware of the need to meet new challenges being posed by the Taliban, we dug into every aspect of Afghanistan policy, assembling a team that traveled to Pakistan and Afghanistan, reviewing options and recommendations, and briefing President-elect Obamas team. They asked us not to announce our findings publicly, and we agreed, giving them the benefit of our work and the benefit of the doubt. The new strategy they embraced in March, with a focus on counterinsurgency and an increase in the numbers of troops, bears a striking resemblance to the strategy we passed to them. They made a decision a good one, I think and sent a commander into the field to implement it.
Now they seem to be pulling back and blaming others for their failure to implement the strategy they embraced. Its time for President Obama to do what it takes to win a war he has repeatedly and rightly called a war of necessity.
So Bush brought Obama fully into the loop right after the election. Obama asked Bush to keep that a secret, which he did. Then Obama appropriated what Bush shared as *his* strategy in March as if *he* had developed it from scratch. Then if that were not bad enough, he adds to the back-stabbing by continuing to blatantly lie in saying Bush had given him nothing. Just when you think Obama cant get any more abominable, you find out you were wrong."
Much of the rest of the speech is given to blasting Obama for stabbing the CIA and others in the back instead of thanking them for keeping us safe.
Good stuff. I wonder if anyone other than Fox will report it.
Ass kicking on an historic level.
OH MY GOODNESS—That is the slap heard ‘round the world!
Keep hammering them Dick!!!!!!!!!!!!
Eggzellent work my good man!!!!
How about a$$ kicking at a biblical record?
Boy do I miss Bush/Cheney...
They'll only report it if Obama gives them permission to report it, and you know that's never going to happen!
Oh wow, THAT is going to leave a mark..!
Shoot, I thought that last paragraph was Cheney as well. That would have been a HUGE whack with a 2X4!
Bravo! We have a Vice-President we can be proud of!
A leader for all seasons.
Obummer are you listening?
Since FNC is one of the most watched news channels, it no longer makes a difference if others report it, IMO
Obamao is a lying coward.
Even out of office, Bush and Cheney are controlling their message and acting more Presidential than the present President himself.
The bitch-slap heard around the world - and Obama is the bitch! Go Cheney!!! And I know he has the documentation to prove every word.
Won’t happen except maybe old Dobbs on CNN.
If you click through the Red State link, it comes from FOX News to begin with.
Cheney’s like Palin to them. They won’t be able to stop themselves from reporting on it, trying to ‘tear it apart’ and they’ll make themselves look like idiots in the process. Same thing happened last time he spoke out.
They are actually polling, did Bush send enough troops to Afghanistan. The SAME PEOPLE WHO RIOTED AND DEMONSTRATED IN THE STREETS TO NOT SEND TROOPS.
They make me sick.
God Bless Cheney. Unafraid.
Obama gets a small spoonful of the viciousness he spewed for years at the Bush administration.
Oh wait, Cheney wasn’t vicious to him, though.
I know the kids do not like him, therefore, not just because she is someone I would love to spend the rest of my life with personally, should Dick decide to put his daughter, Liz, up in his place, well, I would be beholden to him.
Cuz, personally I have renamed "Hope and Change" to "Hopin' Chaney."
Palin/Cheney 2012....see some hyper-rotatory librul heads!!!!
Me too. Big Time.
HA HA HA HA
Nobody forced Obama to run for President
What a crybaby
Cheney doing the answering as Bush stays quiet
Obama is plain pathetic, a guy who runs off other people's pity.
“Just when you think Obama cant get any more abominable, you find out you were wrong.”
Oooooooo I’m going to just savor these words.
BUMP!!
Yeah, it’s easy kicking the asses of Couric, Matthews, Olbermann, Emanuel & Axelrod. They’re an easy target as they all gravitate towards Obozo’s ass.
(( ping ))
Do not miss this!
Ah, when Jimmy Carter was President, that was the good ol’ days. ;^0
“Hopin’ Cheney”
I LOVE IT!
Is there a video out? I missed it today. grrrrr
A new low for a US President, I meant lying Chicago thug with absolutely no integrity.
On the sunday shows, they were using the ‘poor’ elections as an excuse to not send more troops - saying that ‘we’ would not know who was really running the government. I have yet heard ANYONE ask the question about the form of government when we first sent troops over there.
May the Angels always watch over Vice President Cheney.
Here is a link to the speech in it’s entirety:

Thank you very much..
Perhaps the entire speech will be available tomorrow.
Ping and Bookmarked to read later.
GRRRRR! Go Cheney!

Boy do I miss Bush/Cheney...
I didn’t really start following politics until 2000. Didn’t start listening to Rush until 2003 (used to listen to the Jim Rome show until the Iraq war started, and there was more talk about politics than about sports).
The Bush/Cheney ticket was the first ticket for which I voted, that won. Dukakis/Bentsen didn’t (thankfully)...Bush/Quayle the sequel didn’t (ruefully), nor did Dole/Kemp.
I’ve always said that two things changed my involvement in politics, at least to the extent that I follow it today: the 2000 recount, and 9/11. Live next to one of the nation’s busiest airports, within sightline of two of the runways, wake up to dead silence when it’s normally noisy, and see if that doesn’t change your opinion REAL fast!
Don’t know if you heard about the Esquire interview (I think) where that punk spoiled sport, LeBron James, said when asked if he could dunk on anyone, who would it be, and he said if it didn’t have to be a player, he’d dunk on George W. Bush’s ass (his words), taking down the backboard and shattering the glass...95/5 against Queen James’ statement.
Millions of jobs lost, billions of dollars lost, trillions of new debt added in the last nine months, and all these hosers currently in power can do is talk about brooms and mops and other people’s faults. What a bunch of...cats...wanted to use the other word..mixed company...not gonna do it....not gonna go there...wouldn’t be prudent.../Bush 41 caricature, Dana Carvey

God help America...
nobama/george soros thought, as a “black man president” he could do and say no wrong. When things went south the only thing he could do is blame the “last” administration. clinton did the same thing, pretending he was sooo young. Blaming the “last administration” when things go wrong, seem to be the democrat president’s MO. There are no more President Truman in the democrat party, no backbone, only a finger in the air to see which way the poll numbers point.
What an outstanding speech by Dick Cheney. He’s a man that puts our nations safety before politics and doesn’t back down no matter the criticism from Democrats and leftists.
Unlike Dick Cheney our “present” President distances our friends and allies, new and long standing, around the globe by kowtowing and making nice to our adversaries, dictators and despots of the world.
Probably worse, as Mr. Cheney points out, he’s trying to make impotent our military and intelligence agencies that have been by far the finest in the world these last eight years in protecting us from further terrorism here at home.
We need many more patriots like Dick Cheney in leadership roles instead of the anti-American bunch we have in Obama and his group of thugs whether it be Republicans or Democrats.
Thanks for linking his speech, Smooth.
God love ya, Dick. You are one of the (very) few Republicans today actually holding Obama’s feet to the fire. We need more like you.
Keep it up.
