Prime Minister Binyamin Netanyahu told the presidential Facing Tomorrow" conference Tuesday night that the world must end its dependence on oil "that strengthens terror and damages planet Earth.
He said that the dependence on black gold raises the price of oil and stunts economic growth in Africa and other poor areas of the world, as well as in developed countries.

Didn’t Israel make a major natural gas strike offshore in the Med, some time ago?
Are these folks global warmists too?
I read his statement to suggest the west should wean themselves from Arab oil which funds a large portion of Islamic terrorism. Unfortunately, most crude oil is a fungible commodity. Therefore, as long as the Arabs produce oil it will find it's way into the market place, somewhere. So, his speech was a hypothetical statement or just wishful thinking perhaps...
This must drive Iran and Russia nuts as they try to corner the worlds Gas Markets...
LOL! Terror and politics is a reason good enough... no need to whine about Planet Earth, Binyamin. Sheesh!
If youd like to be on or off, please FR mail me.

Anti-Islamists have common cause with climate change nuts.
Oil funds our enemies.
Green movement in Israel? Don’t make me laugh.
It’s a fungible commodity, but if America and other countries with rich oil deposits both inland and offshore were to exploit those resources (Drill, baby! Drill!), then the price of oil would drop, and the only defense that the Arab oil producers,1 and all of OPEC for that matter, have is to cut back their own production to inflate the price of crude, which means that the world becomes less dependant on them. So the more oil there is, the less pull OPEC has.
...strengthens terror and damages planet Earth. He's half right.
