Any discussions about 2012 are useless until we get through the 2010 mid-terms. That should be the concentration.

Sarah’s book is on pre-order sale at both Walmart and Amazon for only $9!

They make great gifts and send a great message as to how many millions are pre-ordered.

“What happens if she decides not to run?”

If she decides not to run, for me, it depends on who DOES decide to run.
Right now – except for Sarah, I see our bullpen as being completely empty.
I swallowed my disgust and pulled the lever for McCain a year ago. I’m not going to pull the lever for another useless, loser RINO again. EVER – and that includes EVERY ONE of those pathetic losers who were in the primaries last time around.

I supported Sarah Palin even before McCain chose her. I had seen her on Glenn Beck and thought how down-to-earth and knowledgeable she was on energy. But then those interviews with the media! She was not prepared and they had their claws out. I don’t know if she can ever recover. Like Bobby Jindal—after the President’s address to the nation. Jindal sounded just awful. I don’t know if there is a conservative or a republican that believes in the constitution, lowering taxes, balancing the budget, and breaking the hold of the lobbyists. Palin might believe in all those things—but she does not have broad enough appeal.

Let’s talk about how she is going to capture the nomination, of a RINO party most recently “led” by John McCain, with runners up like Romney and Huckabee.
Let’s talk about what we’re going to do when we wake up to count the votes of all the Dems who crossed over to vote for a RINO in the 2012 primaries. Maybe we’ll start thinking about fixing that problem in 2016, if we still have a country by then.

Sarah doesn't have the best/longest resume in the US for a Republican and actually she is similar to O’Bambi in lacking executive experience.

I fear she would govern like O'Bambi being afraid to make decisions and not willing to make intelligent compromises to get things done in Washington.

I like Ms Palin very much. Her heart and mind are in the right place. She is a patriot. Whatever she may now lack can be acquired by 2012. My concern is how she can overcome the demonization of her that has been in full swing almost since the moment of her nomination for VP. Similar demonization will prevent Newt Gingrich from ever becoming president. I agree with another poster who said that we should concentrate on 2010, but if Sarah Palin is to be a viable candidate, her image must be rehabilitated, the sooner the better. She is in the proces of doing that now. How we can help her is another question. We can not count on the failures of Obama to pave the way for Palin, although they may help.

I can sympathize with your feelings. I’ve voted in 8 presidential elections and it is ALWAYS a compromise and frequently a defensive vote. Nobody is ever going to agree 100% with me so of course I take the lesser of two evils. At some point though I realized that I’m not going to dig my heals in and say never, ever, ever because that’s more about pleasing me rather than making any kind of difference.

What I suggest may happen is a third party candidate (propped up with stealth Democrat money) and as a result another win for Obama. If a conservative candidate who doesn’t scare the pants off independents can get the GOP nomination then great but I’m not going to toss my vote away on a third party candidate just to feel good about myself. The cost of of 4 more years of Bambi I think is more than the benefit of sticking it to those “country club Republicans”.

An acquaintance of mine is typical of the problem you mention. He is conservative, yet he has a low opinion of Palin based on the information he derives solely from the old media (tv and newspapers). He thinks she’s inexperienced and only got the job of Alaska gov because there aren’t many people up there and anybody could have gotten elected!! He’s one of many people who’ll get a copy of Palin’s book from me, this winter. The local library will get a copy as well. I hope every freeper who can, will buy an extra copy and donate it to their library. It will help offset the disinformation out there.

We have to wait on events. Remember Bill Clinton’s convention speech in 1988. Jindal’s speech will become a distant memory if he is able to establish creds as a competent, small government politician. The Establishment, of course, would prefer someone like the governor of Indiana. Sarah remains the best orator among all the possibles, and she seems to know how to get her opinions out. Let’s see how the book turns out. I guess she will hit both the RINOs and the Liberals. Obviously she is testing the waters with this book.

Very well said! I hope the 3rd party voters will take note, but I fear they won't. They are so hung up on “voting their conscience” that they don't realize what that vote will bring us. I feel sure that the democrats are already preparing to send in a 3rd party shill in 2012 (like Perot) so they can get 4 more years of “the one”.

At the moment, I agree with you. In the Presidential elections, I haven't voted "for" anyone since Reagan. All my other votes were lesser evil votes to keep the demonrat candidate out of the WH. McCain was my worst vote yet and I actually tried to convince others to vote McCain to keep obama out. What did I get for compromising my values?

Not only did obama win, but McCain continues to make me regret my voting for him. Most of the time, I don't think a President McCain would be much different than obama, though he would have killed the rino party once and for all.

What's that they say about insanity and doing the same thing over and over again while expecting a different result? No more voting for rinos.

I was hoping someone like Clinton or some other liberal would pull a Ted Kennedy and challenge "the One" but I think this administration is too thuggish to let that happen. However, I don't think for a minute that the GOP didn't encourage Nadar runs in 2000 and again in 2004. It's a standard tactic of the two party system and has been throughout our history.

Sorry, your inaccurate hit piece doesn't wash.

Sarah has many accomplishments unlike your messiah, the OBOZO. That includes making hard decisions as the executive officer of the largest and most important state in terms of energy and independence from saudi dictators.

Add to it her intelligent common sense conservatism ALWAYS succeeds, it's a no brainer for Sarah to be a VERY successful president.

Nice try, liberal trollie - you're showing your fear of Sarah. Again.

One of the things Governor Palin has NOT shown is an unwillingness to make touch decisions. However, much like the Gipper, she has an instinctual feel for what matters to the common person. I would trust her gut instinct on an issue far more than I would trust the expedient actions of more “informed” politicians.

I totally agree. Sarah has plenty of executive experience. I have posted this before, but again, Woodrow Wilson and Grover Cleveland were elected POTUS and had two years experience as governors...........

Sarah made promises to the Alaskan people when she was elected. She kept every promise she made.

She cut Medicaid backlog by 83%. She cut the state's budget by 7 billion. She spearheaded an increase in veterans benefits, and had a new veterans hospital built. When oil prices went to 140 bucks, she created a rainy day account and there is almost 7 billion in it. She increased benefits to Special Needs Children by 300%. She also was instrumental in having Alaska go ‘green’. 25% of Alaska's energy is produced by renewable energy. In 10 years they will be at 50%. She also personally negotiated the AGIA natural gas pipeline project, a 60 billion dollar project to bring clean burning natural gas to the lower 48........that is only SOME of what she did........

She has plenty of experience, and as she has said, she is a “Common Sense Conservative....”

Curiously enough, her short tenure as Alaska's governor shows exactly the opposite. Decisive with small shrift for bureaucratic BS.

Maybe you'd prefer someone with more experiences... Like "Brady Bill" Bob Dole or Jaun "Amnesty" McCain?

No thanks. No RINO's...

The first day she met with the Alaska State Legislature, this what she said, “You people need adult supervision.”...........is that cool or what? Cracks me up.........

You are correct, Sarah gets things done. And she isn’t going to make a promise she can’t keep.

When she was mayor of Wasilla, she was able to cut out alot of waste in the city budget. Guess what she did with the savings?.........She cut property taxes for everyone in Wasilla............NOW that is my kind of leader!

You’re kidding, right? Sarah Palin is not even remotely similar to Barack Hussein Obama. Obama’s problem is not indecisiveness. He’s already decided to fundamentally change America as we know it. His problem is he can’t figure out a way to do it before the rest of America catches on. He’s not indecisive at all.

Sarah Palin is the anti-Obama. She is the anti-politician.

You’re kidding, right?

Sorry to all you Palin fans but I am not under her spell. To those of you that love her that is great but a reality check

I believe she has 2 years as Governor (not a full term) and 6 years as mayor of Wasilla so that equals 8 years total of executive experience. Not what I would say qualifies her to be president.

And because O'Bozo doesn't have experience I am not going to accept that in a GOP candidate. If there are no good experienced Republican that means the party needs to be rebuilt.

I wouldn’t describe our support as “under a spell”.

That would require Palin to be manipulative and disingenous - two things which she’s not.

Hmmm - experience. Let’s nominate McCain or Dole or how about Jeb Bush? Too bad Schwarzengger isn’t eligible. /s

She realized that she was responsible for their money, and properly returned it to them.

Now theres a novel idea that we won’t see repeated by members of congress.

P.s. Forget about the $250 SS offset payment, that doesn’t count in my book. That’s an illusion of “ we care for you”

The way I understand it Sarah resigned as governor because of increasing pressure by left-winged radicals to make it very difficult/expensive for her to do her job. Manipulative and disingenous tactics by the Demonrats.

Who is to say that won't happen again if she were to become President of the US? My fear is the lefty tactics that Bush 41 could ignore/deal-with may bring Sarah down. (Just my opinion)

Bush41 actually was brought down by the lefty tactics. He was destroyed. His reputation destroyed. Republicanism destroyed.

Sarah is not Bush41. She resigned not because she couldn’t take the pressure - she resigned so that Alaska would not be destroyed. She couldn’t get any work done with the constant stream of attacks.

Then she took Anita Dunn’s favorite philosophers advice: Sarah’s fighting her own battle while her enemies fight theirs.

I WILL vote for Mrs. Palin, or anyone I am convinced is a real conservative as long as there is no RINO presence on that ticket.
