I do not think you understand the point. Without realizing it, what you are saying.

Do you not think if England had willingly surrendered its claim to American sovereignty and freedom was gained without war that would have been better?

What you are saying is, “it was good that Nazi Germany went to war with the world so we could have the good of the Second World war.

It is good that Japan bombed Pearl Harbor so we could have all the benefits of the war in the Pacific.

By the way, slavery was about to end in America without the Civil War, but of course it was better it be ended by means of one of the most horrible wars in history.

And war has not halted the spread of Communism, or perhaps you have not been keeping up with the news. Every hear of Obama?

I’m not opposed to war, or the shedding of blood when necessary, but it is just plain wrong to say war is good. When it is necessary, it is like an operation, a necessary evil. I am glad surgeons can remove a cancer, if necessary, but it would be better not to have the cancer. I’m glad we are capable of defending or freedoms by means of force if necessary, but it would be better if it were not necessary, and when it is, like and operation, it is not good, and it leaves terrible scars.

Hank

But that's not what you said.

You said, and I quote, "No good has ever come from any war."

That statement is false. My post illustrated that.

War is horrible, to be sure, but it is frequently the only way to stop large-scale evil.

Stopping large-scale evil is most definitely a Good Thing.

There are many men who have formed bonds of friendship through the hell of war that has lasted their entire lives. That is about the only good thing that I can think of from war.

Thumbs Up...

The 2nd is 2nd for a reason - and not 1st.

The 2nd amendment protects the 1st; and it’s the 1st that must be exercised more vigorously. The idea being, not to chop the tree down (Useful Idiot Timothy McVeigh style), but to the nudge the tree of liberty back into the founder’s intended form.

bookmark for later.

I regard war as an evil thing. No good has ever come from any war. That does not mean that things might not have been worse if the war was not fought, only that things would definitely have been better if there had been no war.

Wrong. The Civil War, WWI and II, and the Gulf Wars are all excellent examples of wars that not only needed to be fought, but had consequences that were exceptionally good. Sure, they were bad for the losers, but the losers were the ones who forced wholly unecessary armed conflict on the rest of world to begin with.

There will be blood.

There will be a bloody Second American Revolution.

The battle lines are drawn and the time of dialogue and compromise are fading into pages of history. The Left with the election of Obama has empowered its radicals to attempt a putsch against the U.S. Constitution. The Patriots of all political parties, races, creeds and religions in this Free Republic cannot allow this offense against liberty to stand.

They will fight.....

THERE WILL BE BLOOD!!!

Where in the Constitution does it authorize: interstate & federally funded roads, the banning of substances like marijuana (especially given the light that a Constitutional amendment was needed to authorize a ban on ALCOHOL!), the permanent abridgment of the right to bear arms (felons), the USSC to declare that states may not consider the unborn as people and prosecute murderers according, the USSC legitimizing theft and larceny (under the eminent domain clause), the USSC declaring the federal government has the power to regulate privately used, sold, and grown grain wholly in a single state falling under INTERSTATE COMMERCE; where does it give Congress the power to make retroactive laws (AIG, telecomm, tax, etc), or laws targeting a person or class of people (AIG, telecom, etc), where does it allow the imposing of driver’s licenses given a right to travel freely between states?

****Does that mean the freeing of millions of people that were under the bonds of slavery, imperialism, fascism and tyrannical governments all ovre the world mean nothing to you?****

No, it means that evil lurks in the hearts of those tyrants who would enslave his fellow man. This is part of the evidence of the state of fallen man. Other fallen men must take up the challenge to remove the tyrant from power. The state of war only exists because of the tyrant. Tyrants start wars. Better men have successfully stopped them so far. Yes, by fighting a war. War is a necessary result of evil men, better that is should not exist at all. I hail the better men for doing what must be done without regard to the cost.

Big Difference: On 9/12 2009 we did not stay for days and stand in the streets in a non movable - non violent - civil disobedient manner ...

With several million more protesters doing the above — results will come about.

On 9/12 near dusk or before we all left quietly - even cleaned up the grounds on the way out. Next time we don’t leave - BIG Difference.

Taxes: Your theory is good, but in practice it seems impossible to get Americans to put their thumb in the eye of the IRS - FEAR - personal FEAR... a sad comment. I wouldn’t count on this.

Alternate - everyone change their W4 to have 12 dependents - If tens of millions did this - the tax withholdings would drop drastically in a month. But Americans won’t do this either - FEAR.

We got a million in DC on 9/12 — we can get three times that many and STAY - I betcha...

Thanks for the quote, by the way. Real revolution always requires the people to change what they are thinking and doing. It cannot be imposed.

Thanks for your thoughts and comments. If it’s pulled off and it works, who could complain about that.

But if it does not transpire, the next step must be a strike of the producers—and that will work.

The length of time is however long it takes for the demands of the strikers to be met. Two weeks to a month is only an estimate of how long that would be. It could be longer and the strikers will be prepared for that.

By the way, the strike ought to be announce loudly and clearly as possible, so there would be no mistake about what is happening, and what must be done to end it, since force will not work. You cannot force people to produce by pointing a gun at them. Would you let a doctor operate on you if he was being forced to at the point of a gun? How about food provided that way, or medicine?

Yes you are right. The Bible is replete with God telling his Kings to go to war. That was the only way to clean out the evil. His wars were much more brutal than anything we see today. I will repeat, Communism has NEVER been peacefully removed. CO

He is incorrect on the point of revolution in this country.

It will start with the military, most revolutions do. More and more and increasing in size Tea Parties will take place. At some point the fascists with ever increasing amount of repression. And as is written above the entrance at the DOJ in DC, “Repression breeds violence”.

Obama at some point will have troops or tugs fire into the crowd. If troops my guess is they will refuse the order. If that happens then the government collapses.

If he gets the troops or tugs to fire on us then the next protests will include armed protesters. Like the sign said at the Tea Party in DC, “attn congress, this time we came unarmed”.

Thomas Jefferson wrote: “When the people fear the government you have tyranny, when the government fears the people you have liberty.”
