Police hear less from Badger Guns
Milwaukee Journal-Sentinel ^ | 19 oct 09 | JOHN DIEDRICH

Under fire from the Milwaukee Police Department for selling guns used in crimes, the owner of Badger Guns boasted last week he has a close working relationship with his local police department in West Milwaukee.

"West Milwaukee knows what we do," Adam Allan told Milwaukee aldermen during a hearing on gun laws. "We always are having felons taken out of there."

Data from the West Milwaukee Police Department tells a different story. So does the village's police chief.

Police calls to the store dropped sharply beginning in 2007, the year Allan took over the store, according to a Journal Sentinel analysis of hundreds of calls over a 10-year period.

Calls reporting fugitives, weapons violations and suspicious people at Badger averaged about 30 per year until 2006, the newspaper found. That figure dropped to 10 calls in each of the following two years. As of Friday, there had been four such calls in 2009.

Maybe less and less felons are trying to get their guns from a gunstore that reports them to police.

I think the focus is that the store is NOT calling the police anymore. Imagine that; some guy comes in, shows ID, gets the background check and leaves with the gun. They don’t call the police! What’s up with that? Is this still Russia or what?

I’d hardly call annoying, repetitive and stupid “nice”! Nor is it actually “about” badgers. Maybe you were brought up in this modern school system where words don’t actually have definitions.

Well based on his sign up date I'd say he hadn't seen the video yet and he thought the poster was being series.

Glad there’s no moose.

There are enough variations on that video that there may well be a Moose one. :-)

(PS I have found that some of the variations are... umm... not for family viewing.)

You didn’t watch it long enough. Did you see the part where the Badgers . . . Oh never mind you have to see it to understand.

This story is part of an ongoing attempt by the Milwaukee mayor, police chief and newspaper to close down Badger Guns.
