DALLAS For just $39.99, you can now dress up as an "illegal alien" for Halloween. Target is selling the costume made up of an orange jumpsuit with the words "illegal alien" written across the chest. The costume even comes with a mask of a space invader with big eyes, and a green card.
It's not a funny matter to some leaders with LULAC, one of the largest Latino civil rights organizations in the country. Immediate National LULAC President Hector Flores says the costume is racist in nature. Flores adds, "The costume, while clearly depicting a supposed visitor from space, can generate images as portrayed a la Lou Dobbs, with his inflammatory pictures of people crawling over the fences on the southern border of the U.S., or anti-immigrant."
Target's website states the illegal alien costume is only being sold online. The costume won't be online very much longer, according to Target spokesman Joshua Thomas.
Thomas told us by phone Friday afternoon they were made aware of costume Thursday through calls to its customer relations office. Thomas adds, "We went into the process of pulling it from Target.com. It takes about 24 hours. The costume will be taken down either late Friday or early Saturday."
Flores says, "I think that Target may be stretching its marketing regardless of its racial and ethnic implications. I plan to refer this matter to our national LULAC office and general counsel for their advice."
Target's spokesman counters: "It was never our intent to offend any of our customers."
Thomas says he doesn't know if the company had any gatekeepers who could have prevented this costume from making its online site. He says, "As a company, we will try to learn something from this and apply it down the road. There are times when we make mistakes and will do what we can to correct it."
haw haw haw....
Freedom of speech? Get over themselves.
Why is it racist? An illegal alien can be of any race.
What would happen to an illegal alien in Mexico? Hmmm.
What, now the mexicans think they are the ONLY illegals in the country?
If they want censorship they’re free to go home.
It’s not, and they’re not really outraged. They’re trolling for “donations” from corporations.
I’m there next June to check up on a potential condo, family stuff w/ my brother who’s married to a Fil and some “biz”..
If anyone is in the Hollywood area, the “uni” is in the La Brea/Sta Monica location. I went there w/ the Gf this afternoon but it’s there. Doesn’t faze the mexican clerks.
And let’s put this in perspective. They get all bent out of shape because they think they are the butt of a joke. Remember it’s only funny if there’s an element of truth to a joke. And it’s damn funny.
They can’t handle that. But if they were illegal aliens in MEXICO, they’d get the crap kicked out of them by the locals and police, they’d be jailed, their monies confiscated, and then taken on a non-airconditioned piece of crap bus, back down to wherever they came from, deep into their own country, and dumped there.
And they have no sense of humor. Seems they don’t have a sense of perspective either.
Hope they took their coloring books with them.
Illegal Alien costume , get yours today!
I hope target stucks tio its guns. If they do ,, they will sell out with all this free advertising!!!!
We should buy 100 of them and march through downtown LA.
Legal aliens would not be offended. The offended need to be rounded up and sent home.
Oh jeebussssssssss h. keeerisssssssst!!!
They were pulled.
Thank you Mr Bush for letting millions of illegals into the country with virtually no enforcement of our immigration laws. Now they are dominating our culture turning the US into the third world hell hole they came from.
It would be one thing if they wanted to adopt US culture but they clearly do not.
It’s not a funny matter to some leaders with LULAC
But immigrants are laughing...
Yeah, where was the complaining there?
“It’s no fun, being an illegal alien...”
A few bucks can be made here!
They think they have a use patent on the term.
The movie portrayed the Border Patrol badly, so the Reconquistas weren't upset.
Racism against fictional space beings...this country is officially off the rails
Oh, please! Does it never end?
This from a woman in the middle of a dragon costume....eesh.
Think, Target ...
What if you did NOT pull the costume?
You could have had an excellent opportunity to educate the masses about English grammer and the definition of words ... you could have claimed a violation of YOUR constitutional right to the PURSUIT of happiness (evil profit) .. you could have done ANYthing ... and in a few weeks, it would all be over.
Alas, you've targetted yourself as a target.
Your days are numbered, they will crush you and you will be replaced with THEM and most people will have no clue what happened to you.
Some of us know
Alinsky is their tool. It’s not fair to use Alinsky against them. /s
The package states that he has a green card...but not from anywhere on Planet Earth!
I can sympathize with them. We stopped laughing about 25 million invaders ago!

If you want on, or off this S. Texas/Mexico ping list, please FReepMail me.
Why is it racist? An illegal alien can be of any race.
That cracks me up! I want one of those!
They need to shop Wal-Mart and be happy they are not deported, the fools.
Only those who need to be targeted by the Men In Black would complain.
Change to “undocumented worker”
“Immediate National LULAC President Hector Flores..”
Without your whine, I would have never wanted one of these. You are doing a great job at bringing sales to this costume company.
Yeah, well I’m offended by legions of illegal immigrants invading my country and turning it into a third-world hellhole.
