When he was a presidential candidate, Barack Obama promised to make negotiations over healthcare reform an open and transparent process. Now that he's president, the reality is that most of the high-stakes work is being conducted by just three senators behind closed doors.
According to the Washington Post, Senate Majority Leader Harry Reid, D-Nev., and Sens. Christopher Dodd, D-Conn., and Max Baucus, D-Mont., gather in Reid's office to hammer out a merger of competing bills before a Senate vote. The only other people allowed in the room are key aides and Obama's representatives on healthcare reform.
More than a year ago, Obama promised something entirely different.

If you had to choose who were the last for people in the world you’d want writing your healthcare plan, wouldn’t it be these 4? At least with Pelosi, there would be a civil war, and it would get undone after the fact.

No Senator, and certainly not Obama, is “writing” the bill. People with better skills who are much more knowledgable and smarter are doing the writing. The politicians’ input is mainly in the form of telling the real authors that they need to seize as much power as possible over the system without being more obvious than is absolutely necessary.

How can they claim there is a crisis, when other than being taxed for them, we wont see them until after the 2012 elections are done?
We are in a sad state, folks because the truth of the matter is, they can do whatever the hell they please, and nobody can stop them.
Its not good to think about getting guns ready, because you cant have a revolution today, they are called riots. People will end up dead or in jail.
Unless someone with more power than we have can think of something that can be done and has the power to do it..we are royaly screwed.

Unless you mean those who are permanent bums or illegal immigrants, they will get hit with an insurance bill, when they had none, higher insurance premiums, if they had some, choices taken away, longer waits for doctor visits and surgeries, which mean more deaths for old and young alike, not to mention higher taxes, which they will see, long before any insurance kicks in.
If it wouldnt be so devistating for the rest of us, I would love to see this bill pass, so its shoved right up the wazoos of those who think its the best thing since sliced bread. THEY DESERVE IT!!
Golly Gee, I don’t see that they invited that wonderful bipartisan (b*tch) Olympia Snowe to participate. At least they could have her bring in coffee and Danish or something while they are working so hard at destroying our country.
