PETA Stunts Are Still Trashy

Targeting elementary school children with a bloody elephant character? That was so last week. This week, PETA put up a billboard in the United Kingdom featuring a child killer near the victim's home. But (thankfully) the animal rights wingnuts have been dealt a setback in that country: The government-run Advertising Standards Agency (ASA) has banned a different PETA billboard from the country. Why? For wrongly implying that eating meat causes H1N1 “swine” flu:

The agency said the poster -- on which the words "meat kills" and "go vegetarian" were transposed over the names of deadly diseases, of which swine flu featured most prominently -- was misleading and could cause undue fear and distress.

But the ASA noted that of the four diseases referred to on the poster -- E. coli, mad cow, swine flu and MRSA -- only two were known to have originated from eating meat, and said the advert could cause some readers to wrongly infer swine flu could be caught in this way.

Perhaps the ASA figured out that an organization whose Senior Vice President breathlessly says that “[w]e’d love it if the world turned vegan tomorrow” isn’t going to give meat a fair shake.

PETA is also in the news for offering a $2,500 reward for information in a case of four dead pit bulls found in a trash bin. Does the crime sound familiar? Yep. PETA’s own employees went on trial after they were caught red-handed dumping 31 pets in the trash to rot in 2005. Right after killing them in the back of a PETA-owned van.

So let’s review the PETA philosophy: Meat makes you sick, at least until someone reminds the public that it doesn’t. And animals aren’t garbage—unless it’s PETA doing the trash dumping. PETA has killed more than 21,000 dogs, cats, and other “companion animals” since 1998, and it’s suddenly upset over the deaths of four dogs.

Pot? Kettle? You can’t spell “pathetic” without the letters P, E, T, and A.

Couldn't quite bring themselves to say it was an outright lie could they?

I know. The only time the government can muster the word to call their own citizens “terrorists” is if they’re conservatives.

PETA is just a privately-funded mental hospital. It’s thereputic regime is centered around letting the patients act out their background traumas and the accompanying psychoses in the public square.

Oh,foolish people! Oh foolish nation!!!!

God said, “Take, kill and eat.” They(Peta)say, “Meat is murder.” God and Peta seem to be opposites on this issue.

We can read in Acts 10:9-16 where Peter fell into a trance, after he went to pray; he saw a sheet let down with all manner of animals on it. And there came a voice to him, “Rise Peter; kill and eat. But Peter said, “Not so, Lord for I have never eaten anything that is common or unclean.” And the voice spake unto him the second time, “What God hath cleansed, that call not thou common,” This was done thrice: and the vessel was received up again into heaven.”

The apostle Paul wrote; “For every creature of God is good, and nothing to be refused, if it be received with thanksgiving For it is sanctified by the word of God and prayer.” (1 Timothy 4:4-5)

I believe most of us would be on God’s side, rather tha Petas. Amen !!!!!

Since you’re putting it in a theological context, I’ll share my observations of their logical inconsistencies.

I love to tie the emoting morons in a knot with what I like to call the “PETA Paradox”. Ingrid Newkirk, IIRC (and others I’m sure) said “a pig is a rat is a dog is a boy”, meaning that there is no moral distinction between us and them. But then they go on to argue that this means we shouldn’t eat them, harness them, use fur, etc.

But that’s a non sequitir. The “other animal species” eat each other and otherwise compete for resources. If we’re morally no more than another species of animal, that argues in favor of our simply doing our best to be the biggest, baddest species on the block, like all the others do.

So they say we’re no different, then use that to tell us to behave in a way that doesn’t make sense unless we’re fundamentally different. They can’t even get their own orthodoxy to make coherent sense.
