SURPRISE, Ariz. — An Arizona sheriff known for cracking down on people who are in the country illegally launched a crime and immigration sweep in northwestern metro Phoenix on Friday, a half day after officials in Washington limited his powers to make federal immigration arrests.

We knew Joe wouldn't sit down and shut up. He is one of the few notables resisting Washington's Communist/Fascist takeover.

I’m sure Maricopa isn’t on the “Tour Guides” those illegal non-citizen border crossers have. Isn’t it amazing that when you know you can’t break the law and be immune to pusnishment that you don’t go there? Too bad the whole country can’t do that!

Like most of us here, I love the man, but the Feds are going to end up putting him in jail, guaranteed. They're not going to tolerate anyone of such a high profile resisting their fascism. They'll find some "dirt" on him, and railroad him out of town, or get a court to rule that he's violated the rights of some "citizens of the world" and subjected his county to heavy fines so that they get rid of him.

Take it to the bank.

The good folks in Arizona need to rise up in support of Sheriff Joe, and against their former Governor, who is a disgrace as the head of Homeland Security.

Just don’t expect any help from their senior Senator.

We knew Joe wouldn't sit down and shut up...

I suspect Joe and Janet have some history.

But Joe is on solid ground.

For years, the locals were schooled by ICS and their predecessor INS to stay out of the immigration business.

Meanwhile, local sheriff and police depts. watched as federal laws went unenforced by both federal agencies and prosecutors.

Overtime, local departments watched their communities disassemble with the failure of ICE to do its job.

When competent sheriffs and chiefs find they have the budget resources to enforce state and local laws against undocumented individuals, more power to them.

We have to expect that the liberals in power have high expectations that they can pass some kind of amnesty or at least find ways to give more illegals on the voting register.

I welcome folks from other nations having a desire to move here, but do it the right way.

And when you come, learn English, become a citizen, work hard, pay your bills, and forget your allegiance to whatever nation you emigrated from.

More power to Sheriff Joe for doing what his county is paying him to do.

I’m sure Maricopa isn’t on the “Tour Guides” those illegal non-citizen border crossers have.

The problem it that, in fact, it very much is on their list of places to go..

The Police Chief and Mayor of Phoenix have it as a “Sanctuary City”

Right now Phoenix is the Kidnap Capital of North and Central America.

Taking second place only to Bogata Columbia as Kidnap Capital of the Western hemisphere.

Phoenix proper arguably is the Narco and Human Trafficing Hub for the United States because of its location and the policies of the Mayor and Local Police Chief..

Phoenix is comprised of a bunch of smaller communities side by side. Many if not most of which use the Sheriffs Department for Law Enforcement.. So the Maricopa Sheriffs do a lot of City type patrolling duties.

There is one area just outside of Phoenix with multiple points of access that has become a dumping ground for dead bodies.. Illegals dying at Safe Houses, Hits between various drug and human trafficking organizations..

It’s been routine to find a body or two daily.

The people of the smaller communities don’t want the illegal criminals moving into their neighborhoods and the Sheriff is just responding to and doing his job to try and protect them. (Very unusual in this day and age of course)

Phoenix Proper really has become a cesspool. People dart in and out of it going only to specific well protected places. Other Parts right next door look just like the poorer areas in some of Mexico’s larger cities..

Phoenix is a cesspool not maintained seeping into the communities around it..

The Sheriff and his Deputies are really stuck trying to keep the crap away from the decent folks of the outlying communities.

While Pink Underwear and Green Baloney IMO is stupid..Bad PR... He has a really tough job that overall he and his Deputies do fairly well.. Not perfect.. but certainly better that what is being done in Phoenix Proper.
(no reflection on the Patrolmen who put up with a lot of crap because of their Department Policies and the Mayors need for the endorsement and support of the.

“International Association of Illegal Alien and Narco Traffickers Local 187”

>"Will we offer our blood also?"

The history of communism, mostly doesn't "offer" "choice" in the matter.

Mass starvation, exposure through destitute living conditions, military/police use, they have even more choices they can make, all with the same results.

Hey it's easier to rob dead people. Just ask the preborn, & the elderly.

RAGTIME COWBOY JOE

Out in Ar-iz-o-na where the bad men are
And the on-ly friend to guide you is an Eve-’ning star
The rough-est, tough-est man by far is Rag-time Cow Boy Joe
Joe got his name from sing-ing to the cows and sheep
Ev’ry night they say he sings the herd to sleep
In a bass-o rich and deep croon-in’ soft and low.

CHORUS
He al-ways sings rag-gy mu-sic to the cat-tle
As he swings back and for-ward in the sad-dle
On a horse that is syn-co-pat-ed, gait-ed,
And there’s such a fun-ny me-ter to the roar of his re-peat-er
How they run when hear that fel-low’s gun
Because the West-ern folks all know
He’s a high-fa-lut-ing, scoot-ing, shoot-ing
Son-of-a-gun from ar-iz-o-na Rag-time Cow Boy Joe.

He dressed up ev’ry Sun-day in his Sun-day clothes
He beats it for the vil-lage where he al-ways goes
And ev’ry girl in town is Joe’s ‘cause he’s a rag-time bear.
When he starts a-spieling on the dance hall floor
No one but a lun-a-tic would start a war
Wise men know his fo-rty four makes men dance for fair.

Like most of us here, I love the man, but the Feds are going to end up putting him in jail, guaranteed.

Joe Arpaio is not the first sheriff to have stiffed the Feds by enforcing the law. In fact, Gary Penrod of San Bernardino County, CA, did something more radical, removed all law enforcement authority by Federal regulators, effectively throwing Federal LEOs out of his county.

That's right all you California bashers, we've got real conservatives here who don't deserve you even subconsciously abandoning them. There are too many FReepers here who get a large charge out of shooting their own rearguard.

Sheriff Joe is trying to protect his county from being over-run by foreign nationals. Those foreign nationals sap our local governments dry. They cause financial harm to local hospitals. They cause financial harm to our schools.

It is the President’s job to protect the states from invasion. It’s says so in Article IV Section IV of the U.S. Constitution. Obama swore to protect and defend that Constitution, and yet he rends it unenforceable by urging his Justice Department to go after Sheriff Joe.

Perhaps I have a faulty understanding of the Justice Department, but in matters such as Sheriff Joe’s enforcement of laws on the books concerning foreign nationals here against our nation’s laws, wouldn’t it have to be at the President’s request?

The President is clearly breaching his oath of office. He is facilitating a crime. As such isn’t he in violation of his oath of office, an accessory to crime, and therefore guilty of a misdemeanor.

Isn’t he impeachable for this?

Sheriff Joe = Fully within the law

President Obama = Fully outside the law on this matter

There are several kinds of courts, one obvious one is the legal court, the kind that might find Sheriff Joe guilty.

The other kind is the Court of Public Opinion. Over the years Sheriff Joes actions have caused this court to be stacked with judges (the general public) who wholeheartedly love the man and will find him innocent of all charges.

We’ll see, but I’ll wager that the Court of Public Opinion will trump the legal court. I say they’re scared to even give more than lip service to any threats.

"one obvious one is the legal court, the kind that might find Sheriff Joe guilty."

Sheriff Joe is acting within legal means. It's the federal government whom is acting outside those means.

I trust the Sheriff KNOWS what he can and can't do, as AN ELECTED STATE OFFICIAL and what the fed CAN OR CAN'T CONTROL in his jurisdiction.

It’s not surprising , Arizona has laws against harboring or transporting illegal aliens, and the aliens themselves are conspirators, and Sheriff Joe said he will enforce ARIZONA law, and if the Feds won’t take the illegals in, he will drive them to the border himself. Nothing the Feds can do about that, unless they sue to prevent Arizona from enforcing Arizona law. That would be interesting.
