Following my article last week on whether Barack Obama deserved to get the Nobel Peace Prize, my inbox was inundated with emails from American readers seeking to know whether I have proof that Obama was really born in Kenya.

If he was born in Kenya, they theorise, he is therefore not entitled to claim American citizenship and the presidency of the United States.

I could not help laughing at those emails, most displaying a naivete' and lack of understanding of this sentence from last week’s article: "It seems Barack Hussein Obama, President of the United States of America (via a sleepy village in Kenya called Nyang’oma K’Ogelo) can do no wrong."

To all the skeptics out there, here is one inescapable fact. There was a Barack Hussein Obama born in Kenya. He is the father of your president. He was a black man from black Africa. The name and the person Barack Hussein Obama Sr, came from a sleepy village in Kenya called Nyang’oma Kogelo.

And here is another inescapable truth: the fact that Barack Hussein Obama Jr was born in Hawaii has already been proved beyond doubt by your own government. He is a US citizen. His election a year ago and his popularity around the world baffled many Americans but the fact remains he is entitled to be president. Get over it, you conspiracy theorists and people of dubious intelligence who cannot accept your country is led by a person of African descent. Obama has been examined under your microscope for at least two years. If there was proof to the contrary, wouldn’t you have found it by now?

For the record, my article did not question whether the US President began his life here in Kenya. The gist was that the President of the United States is a man who can seemingly do no wrong. His words and deeds since he took office, his visits to various parts of the globe have helped to change the image we have of America and Americans.

The questions I posed are paraphrased thus:

• How can we create a better, more sustainable world? I believe I read somewhere that Americans consume over 50 per cent of all global resources, and they will need to lead the way in all spheres (military, scientific, political, and economic) to reduce the strain placed on our global ecosystem.

• Can President Obama succeed in changing America and thus the world? Will the Americans let him, I wonder? If the Americans cannot agree on something as fundamental as healthcare for all, something that even a poor nation like Kenya strives to provide for its citizens, can these most wasteful of human beings accept a change in lifestyle, even for their own good? Only time will tell.

I admire how Obama has dealt with the various circumstances and difficulties destiny has sent his way.

I think about the American side of his family. Did his mother have any idea how great her son was going to become? I feel for him, knowing that his mother, Ann, grandfather Stanley, and especially his maternal grandmother, Madelyn, who died just two days before his historic election victory, never lived to see their son become one of the greatest men in the world. I feel sad he has to live with the knowledge that none of the people who brought him up were alive to see that moment. The American side of his life needs to be honoured and celebrated, just as we celebrate his Kenyan roots.

Let me explain how it works, America.

In Kenya, and many other African countries, a child belongs not just to the mother and father, but to the extended family: grandparents, uncles, aunts, cousins.

Amongst the Luo, this concept of community is particularly strong, which is why even though Obama is fully American, to his relatives in Kenya he is fully Luo. He is a son of Kogelo. That is his home.

In patrilineal Kenya, everybody has a ‘real’ home, which is where the father/husband originally comes from, and not just where they have chosen to live and work.

I, for instance, have lived and worked in Nairobi all my life but my children will grow up knowing that home is the dry and dusty area North-East of Nairobi called Kitui.

Obama doesn’t have to have been born in Kenya to get the privilege of calling Kogelo home. And even though, legally, the Government of Kenya does not recognise him as Kenyan that is of little consequence to his family here.

So, was Barack H Obama Jr born in Kenya? No. But believe it or not, the President of the most powerful nation in the world is still from a sleepy little village in Kenya called Kogelo.

I guess Nairobi is not up-to-speed on education, because this asshat sure has a misconception of "facts".

No proof of citizenship has EVER been presented by The Messiah (and he's spent millions of dollars to avert having to do so) and NO RECORDS OF HIS have been seen (no school records, medical records, travel records, college records, etc.), as his first day in office resulted in the sealing of all his records by Executive Order (which was according to some script of what he must do immediately upon being sworn in, I'm sure).

Alas, culture counts. No African has ever ruled an African “nation” in the last centuries without being despotic, capricious, and usually cruel. One or two were cannibals.

A noted “leader” and his wife used a peculiarly African form of savagery to terrorize their enemies. The favored tactic was to tie the victim up, place a used tire around their neck, fill the tire with gasoline, and set the tire and victim on fire.

Why not? To have participated in the attack makes one fully chargeable with first degree murder. That means much of that crowd should be executed.

Yet, because they are urban blacks, most likely, nothing will be done to bring that crowd to court, then the death gurney.

Here in Miami, a white boy was burned alive by two black boys and two Latin boys. Only one was charged with attempted SECOND DEGREE murder. The others face only aggravated assault charges.

Why are all not facing murder charges? Probably because the Miami Prosecutor's office is:
1. Overly full of black and Latin personnel who condone the wrist slap being given to most of the savages.
2. Afraid to file an attempted murder charge against “minors”.
3. Democratic Party Liberals unwilling to have a trail which will highlight the failed results of generations of Liberal policies.

Most interestingly, the issue of a hate crime never was raised, even though the savages were black or Latin and their victim was a white boy with blue eyes.

I suggest that when the civilized stand by and allow savages to get away with their brutally violent behavior, that we are validating their culture, violence and all.

Alas, evil does exist. Evil can't be talked out of being evil, it must simply be destroyed.

No. Those two facts, BHO Sr born in Kenya, and a lifetime British/Kenyan national, and (If fact it be) BHO Jr's birth in Hawaii, do not make him eligible. On the contrary his father's nationality makes him ineligible.

I could care less if both his parents were of pure African "descent, or pure Irish via Australia. If his parents were from say Nigeria, but were naturalized before he was born, that would be fine as it would make him a Natural Born US Citizen. If all four of his grandparents were Africans, who came to the US before his parents were born, with both of them born in the US, even though the grandparents were never naturalized, that too would be fine. Either way, he'd be a Child of two US citizens, born in the US, and thus would be a Natural Born Citizen, as the Constitution requires. But his parents were not both US Citizens at the time of his birth wherever it was, and thus he not a Natural Born Citizen and is not eligible to the office he now usurps.
