Obama makes stop in N.O., bypasses Miss.

NEW ORLEANS (AP) — Supporters of President Barack Obama lined the streets leading to a town hall meeting at the University of New Orleans and erupted in cheers as the president’s motorcade arrived Thursday.
Even before Air Force One landed, hundreds were lined up at UNO for the town hall at the school’s 1,500-seat fitness center.
About 150 demonstrators were ushered behind barricades about 400 yards away. Some were Obama supporters, others were there to protest the president’s health care proposals.
“I’m a small business owner and the things he has proposed are going to collapse my business,” said Tom Clement, 62, who traveled from Baton Rouge, where he runs a landscape contracting business with five employees.
Inside, however, the crowd applauded Obama enthusiastically. There were loud boos when Obama recognized Republican Gov. Bobby Jindal and a mix of boos and cheers when he recognized Mayor Ray Nagin.
Jindal later laughed off the boos, joking that audience members must have been worried he was going to give a speech. The governor said he met with Obama and discussed some of Louisiana’s most pressing needs, including additional federal funding for coastal restoration projects and to rebuild a storm-damaged hospital in New Orleans.
“We didn’t get any specific commitments,” he said.
Jindal said Obama and his senior aides pledged to “continue to look for ways to work with us” on the region’s recovery from Katrina.
“It’s not a partisan issue,” he said.
Although health care was on the minds of demonstrators, Obama’s trip focused largely on the city’s recovery from Hurricane Katrina.

Of course Jindal was booed all of his supporters were out working to pay their taxes so the Obama followers could be their while still receiving their government checks. Or as Obama would put it their long overdue income redistribution allotments. These same people who blindly follow the one are the ones who were too stupid to get out of Nawlins when it was getting destroyed by God.

There, fixed it for you. I'm a Mississippi Katrina survivor and haven't got handout number one, other than some water and food in the immediate aftermath of the storm.
right. and even more specifically those in New Orleans who were being put up in hotels for free and complaining about the free food. I remember that TV news story a while back.
