Protest-fetish protest group CodePink -- a social circle whose members wear pink feather boas and zany hats while shouting -- will be in Union Square tonight, protesting President Barack Obama's visit. According to Appeal.BCN. CodePink"will ask the president to commit to an exit strategy from Afghanistan." Also, they will display a banner in Union Square, "while a Code Pink member will try to deliver petitions to the president inside the fundraiser." Outrageous.
Other protest groups wringing their hands in Union Square this evening while Obama eats fancy food at the St. Francis Hotel: Single Payer Now, who "plans to have doctors, nurses and health care reform activists across the street from the hotel demanding national single-payer health care," and a group called the Stop NAFTA/CAFTA Coalition, who will ask the president "to end the North American Free Trade Agreement and the Central American Free Trade Agreement, which the group says have increased poverty and inequality."

Ironic, but nonetheless, Barry’s response will be “Get in a line and know your role.”

Oh they are hyper hypocrites.
They believe in almost anyone at war against the USA.
They funded the terrorists fighting against our troops in Iraq to the tune of about $60,000 or so.

The Ego has landed.
KCRA has an early report with video.
The Chronicle has a reporter inside the hotel.
Lots of protesters outside.

News reports coming in.
No big deal, mostly supporters you would think from this article:
(AP) 38 minutes ago
SAN FRANCISCO Crowds lined the streets around San Francisco's Union Square as President Barack Obama arrived in the city.
*snip*
A mix of cheers and jeers greeted the president's motorcade as it approached the hotel.
Some in the mostly well-behaved crowd were there to support the president, while others were there to protest
Story says 1000 people there.

SAN FRANCISCO INTERNATIONAL AIRPORT (KGO) -- Air Force One touched at 5 p.m. at SFO and the president was 20 minutes ahead of schedule. He's in town for a multi-million dollar fundraiser for the Democratic Party, but scores of protesters waited for him outside the hotel. There was sort of a bipartisan assortment of people unhappy with the president.
*snip*
The last time President Obama was in town was also for a fundraiser, during his campaign, and he raised money and eye brows for remarks about people in Pennsylvania clinging to their guns and religion.
This next part says this guy defended Obama, but this is what he said.
Real estate broker Larry Garvin was at that fundraiser and defended Obama.
"It was a response to a question that he was asked and I think as he usually does he treats people as adults and he gave a thoughtful answer," said Garvin during the first visit.
However, that was then and today Garvin has no money for President Obama and very little to say in support.
"You know what I thought was going to be a transformational president in my opinion has turned out to be the third Bush presidency," says Garvin.
Nice defense LOL
Another little snip from the bottom of the article:
President Obama is heading for the Westin St. Francis for a dinner that costs $30,400 per couple and 150 are expected for dinner. There's also a reception with 800 people attending and the tickets are between $500 and $1,000 a head. The total take after expenses for the Democratic Party are expected to top $3 million.
That's the bottom line. Money from California leftists again.

Another fawning article from a few minutes ago:

(10-15) 20:22 PDT SAN FRANCISCO -- President Obama was met with cheers and jeers Thursday in his first visit to San Francisco as commander-in-chief, telling a friendly crowd at a sold-out Democratic Party fundraiser that while "some of our opponents think they can wear us out, I'm not tired - I'm refreshed."
America is "closer than we have ever been" on health care reform, he said, and promised to follow through with efforts to develop green technology and tackle difficult problems around the globe.
"Iran is hard, Afghanistan is harder" Obama told supporters. "Iran, seeking to develop nuclear weapons, is hard. The Middle East peace process, that's hard."
In a city that former President George W. Bush never visited, Obama was greeted with wild applause from a capacity audience of more than 1,000 Democratic supporters who paid $500 to see him at the Westin St. Francis Hotel, where he starred at a reception to benefit the Democratic National Committee.
Good for Bush for not going to SF.
Poor little Obama, war is "hard."
I guess it is hard to do practically nothing.

I read an article earlier about Obama beind afraid to show his face in SF.
Well, e put the kids that love him in cages. (She looks a little scared)

Taylor Parmenter looks through the barricades outside the Westin St. Francis Hotel in San Francisco as she waits to get a look at President Obama on Thursday.

They all seem to love Obama in SF, as we can see from the pleasant look on his face
