The NFL gives “second chances” only to thugs, murderers, rapists, drunks, druggies, felons, dog killers, and steroid junkies...but a conservative talk show host who wants to use his own money to buy a team that is the worst in the league?

(Rush, you should’ve seen this coming after the Senate Liars letter)

To bad Rush didn't hire a person to represent him. I just hate this. The man can't even pursue a hobby without political implications.

I hope Rush investigates all avenues of possible legal action. Who outed him? Find them and prosecute to the fullest extent of the law if possible.

Make the NFL pay - don't watch their product on tv, don't purchase any of their products in the stores. Rush has about 20m viewers. If these viewers boycott NFL football, the owners, commissioner, will get the msg...

“Rush was lynched”

I believe God moves in mysterious ways. It may be Gods providence that prevents him from sinking a lot of cash into a dying franchise. Rush loves football, but maybe God is saying, “Rush your wisdom is on loan from me, and I’m going to use the enemy to keep you from blowing it”!!

I just called Direct TV and canceled the NFL channels. I won’t be a customer of a bigoted organization like the NFL that caters to liberal causes such as false racism. Let the NFL get its money from the bruthas in da hood.

The NFL, the National Felon’s League, has more crap in it that for them to think anyone, especially Rush, isn’t welcome, well, they are just too bigoted for my taste and my money.

(from a sports board)

We should all open accounts at Wikiquote and start attributing false quotes to Olberman, Goodell, and everyone else associated with this smear job.

I’m a long time NFL fan (with the Bucs since ‘76, unfortunately), and an addicted fantasy player, but I’m seriously considering canceling my Sunday Ticket, putting my Bucs stuff away, and quitting my fantasy leagues.

These are tried and true Leninist tactics they’re using, and I’m frankly getting tired of them. My temptations to go Galt are becoming greater by the day...

I think you're right that many of them were but it also became a political tool.

Wikipedia - "Suspicions were often given credence despite inconclusive or questionable evidence, and the level of threat posed by a person's real or supposed leftist associations or beliefs was often greatly exaggerated. Many people suffered loss of employment, destruction of their careers, and even imprisonment"

Wiki source?

Just because it’s an accepted meme doesn’t mean it’s true about McCarthy.

It seems that “Rush is a racist” is also an accepted meme, whether the quotes were made up out of whole cloth doesn’t seem to bother anyone, Rush is a racist, McCarthy was wrong, Vietnam, etc. All big lies.

Exactly. One of Rush's many false accusers is drunk driver/murderer Rick Sanchez of CNN.

I do hope that Rush does sue. The major comment attributed to him that caused the damage was the one about slavery having merits of keeping criminals off of the streets. Rush says he never said it and I believe him.

Everything that Rush says on air is available on tape via FCC regulated stations. If he did say this in 1998 Gore, Kerry or Zippy would have found it and used it to discredit him to his own audience. Crimmy sakes alive they all had the budget for opposition research to find a great big bomb like this.

This is simply a rumor that was repeated in the MSM like you would expect to hear in a girl’s bathroom in high school. Rush hinted today that he knows the original source. I hope that he takes them to task on it in a great big way.

The left gets away with this crap all of the time. They repeat lies so often that they become what people accept as the truth. I say that we start taking their own words out of context and use it against them on the net. Give them a taste of their own meds (not making it up just editing in an artful way) and see if twists their panties into a knot.

I have reconsidered my love for pro football in the light of the really troubling information on the health problems that attack players after they quit. The helmet, which may as well be the German coal scuttle helmet, is itself responsible for the increase in concussions. And we are learning that serial concussions can sure as hell shorten life.

The legal argument is, I suppose, that he is a public figure and thus criticism of whatever nature is fair game. However, slander that can be proved to affect an individual’s ability to make a living, is something else entirely. If Rush goes after just one individual it will have a beneficial effect.

The Obama presidency (remember the guy who's white and black), has emboldened players and the media to engage in reverse racism.

Obama's a divider, not a uniter.

Free speech is dying. Glad Rush is suing the slanderers and libelers.

Having been dropped from the investors group, Rush can now assert economic harm caused by those who slandered him. This is one avenue where a public figure can prevail with a charge of slander or libel.

Dropping him may have played into his hands in his suit against his detractors.
