ALL THE money from the sale of the CD is going to charity.

Dylan is a patriot!
quit the laughter.

Truly frightening. Unlike a fine wine, Dylan's voice has not improved over time...he almost sounds like Tom Waits.

Too funny!

Sounds like it’s along the lines of “Self Portrait”.

I'd consider that a fine thing.

OMG, I love Christmas carols but don’t think this is a CD I would buy - this guy needs to NOT shut up and sing, he just needs to just shut up - this was awful....(Can you tell I’m not now, nor ever was, a Bob Dylan fan?)

I have never understood the attraction for this misfit. He is in my opinion the least talented “singer” I have heard in my 67 years. I heard a snippet of the album this morning on npr (please forgo the slings and arrows) and I is my opinion that he has not improved with age. My dog sings better. sd

I heard bits on talk radio and I think it`s classically Dylan. He is, and has all ways been, gratingly monotone and irritatingly tone deaf. This guy couldn`t carry a tune with a forklift! The wonder is that anyone would pay real money to listen to him, I could do as well with my butt, a quart of milk, and a couple of bean burritos.

It'll never replace Pat Boone's heavy metal album.

Let me be the first to second THAT!

And for those of you who dismiss Dylan’s voice, his last two albums have gone to number ONE on the charts, so obviously there are a lot of people who want to HEAR that voice. Perhaps this album was made for them, and not for you.

On the plus side, he seems to have stuck to very traditional arrangements – so at least we’re not getting rap versions of traditional tunes, or even some rocked up nonsense.

I think his sales have more to do with some wistful hippie memories than actual vocal abilities. Either way he`s still monotone and tone deaf,he couldn`t carry a tune with diesel powered hydraulics. Anyone that claims he`s got range, tonal quality, or power is like wise tone deaf.

Put it this way,I also think Mike Jagger, from the same era,has got a limited range, but at least sings better.A Freddy Mercury Dylan is not!

Everytime he comes on the radio with “Like a Rolling Stone”, I have to either turn to another station or turn the volume all the way down because my head will explode.

The world is full of technically adept singers but no one knows who any but a tiny handful of them are, because frankly it’s an ordinary, almost banal talent to have.

Actually with declining album sales and more people buying "different" things than everyone else (a lot of non-charting smaller albums), I don't think it takes nearly as much to hit number one as it once did.

But that isn't a slight on Bob, just a comment on how the record industry killed music and the common experience.

Look up Mrs. Miller and/or Wing sometime. They sing standards.

My problem is with the arrangements. Don't care for the "traditional" band (and backup singers) playing behind him on many of the cuts and a number of the songs are out of his range.

But some are more subdued.

9. Have Yourself A Merry Little Christmas
14. The Christmas Song

The First Noel may be okay, this snippet doesn't give much of a taste of Bob's vocal contribution.
12. The First Noel

But I don't need more Christmas albums filled with same half-dozen "Santa/Frosty/Rudolph" songs.

At least he didn't do All I Want For Christmas Is My Two-Front Teeth, I Saw Mommy Kissing Santa Claus, or Rockin' Around The Christmas Tree.

He should've done The Original Wailers' "Christmas Spirit" which was a mid-60s NW garage attempt at doing a Dylan-sounding song.

Well if its such a commonplace and almost trite talent, for those that truly posses it, how much worse is it to be considered a “singer” when you have no real talent as one?

His "fans" can give him all their money,it no more makes him any better a singer then OBarky`s election as TOTUS makes him a good choice as POTUS.
