Last year, Democrats sailed to their current majority of over 70 seats in the House, thanks to the coattails of Barack Obama, especially among African-American voters who turned out in record numbers. In 2010, without Obama on the top of the ticket and with Democrats increasingly isolated on their agenda, that majority may disappear. Democratic strategists worry about record low turnouts among black voters and what that might mean for the midterms next year:
Alarms are being rung about just how many African-Americans will vote without President Barack Obama on the ballot, and the New Jersey and Virginia governors’ races in three weeks will provide the first major test since the 2008 election.
A recent Washington Post survey estimated the black turnout in Virginia’s governor’s race at 12 percent, which would be about a 40 percent drop from last year’s general election. Other polling has shown both its and New Jersey’s black population unmoved about the off-year election.

Silly, that’s what ACORN is for. They don’t need voters to show up at the polls, they just need them to be registered, and then they need to print lots of ballots. If they don’t turn in a sufficient number, they can get more after the election and turn those in.
Its worked for 50 years.
Maybe since 0bama’s not on the ballot,
but, from what we saw in the election,
the vote appeared to be a very tribal decision,
and I don’t see anything that has changed that.

A low turnout doesn’t matter much if the ones that do vote do so 2-3 times apiece.
those Gov races are not the first test , the first test was the second election which happened in GA and it showed blacks never came out as no black was on the the ticket

If the dead can vote, why can’t the black segment vote? The Dem’s real worry should be that enough of Justice and the FBI haven’t been perverted so they can’t check on voter fraud.

For reasons we may never understand, their culture is strongly peer pressure driven and has long history of being taken advantage of by leaders they assume have their best interests in mind, but who only view them as easy marks and simpleton pawns.
Looks like the Democrats squandered their political power and good will. Their public support is in danger. Hopefully 2010 should put a stop to their policies of destruction (or at least slow them down), if we are lucky to get enough conservatives elected to the House.

I will carry it one step further, by stating that our National Coffers will be additionally diminished until November, 2012 — due to the increasingly expanded hires and overtime within the ranks of the Secret Service !!! *S*
As an aside, I am still awaiting the response from my Democrat Representative, who slid into Congress on Zero's coattails regarding the upped 10K wager I tendered to Congressman Mark Schauer relative to the turkey's imminent defeat in 2010.
Only stipulation on the wager was that Schauer NOT cover the bet with campaign funds. A designated CPA in Jackson, MI would hold the funds in cash — and would be tasked to ensure that the Congressional miscreant, indeed, puts up only private funds in his own behalf.
Gutless little wimp. For that reason, I let Schauer’s staff in on the bet as well, only limiting each staff puke to 1K — with the same “washing” stipulation — which at least will ensure some embarrassment within the office when the boss is seen to be nothing more than a Zero Pussy...afraid to bet on his own capabilities as a Mark 1, Mod 0 political hack.
