Maria Shriver Busted Breaking Husband's Own Law Calif

Gov. Arnold Schwarzenegger is calling out his wife, Maria Shriver, for apparently violating a state law he signed — holding her cell phone while driving.

The celebrity Web site TMZ.com posted two photographs Tuesday showing Shriver holding a phone to her ear while she's behind the wheel. It says one was snapped Sunday and the other in July. The Web site claimed that this was not the first time California's first lady was caught chatting on her cell while driving.

SACRAMENTO, Calif. (CBS) - On his Twitter feed Tuesday, Schwarzenegger wrote to TMZ.com founder Harvey Levin: "Thanks for bringing her violations to my attention. There's going to be swift action."

Schwarzenegger spokesman Aaron McLear says that by "swift action," the governor means he'll ask his wife not to hold the phone while driving. A law that took effect in 2008 requires California drivers to use a handsfree device.

She’s a Kennedy. Laws don’t apply to her.

Really, People please. Those laws are for the ignorant commoners. You can’t expect the privileged to abide by them.

She’s a member of the “ruling class”, and “serf laws” don’t apply to her.

It’s not about safety. The government does not care about your safety, if it did it would outlaw ciggarettes.

It’s all about fines.

New Jersey was one of the first to fine motorists for using cell phones. If it was about safety as they claim, then why would it not be ok to make a call while at a 2 minute red light? no, no, can’t do that. We’re the gov’t and we say you can’t chew gum and walk at the same time.
In Fact if your car is in a parking spot at the mall and your motor is running and your cell phone is on, your getting fined.

On the first day of this idiocy, my daughter was driving to college. There were a half dozen State troopers at the entrance stopping cars and writing tickets. Of course a lot of flashing lights also. While at the entrance to the college and stopped at the light, my daughter not knowing what was going on, and fearing some kind of terrorist act, called a friend already in school to find out what was going on. Well you can guess what happened. She was instantly pulled over and issued a ticket. $100 and another $25 court costs.

Of course there may be people who can’t chew gum and walk at the same time, but most can.

There are already laws in the books to cover careless and reckless driving. We don’t need any more.

Actually, Maria's cell phone slip-up doesn't bother me in the slightest.
The California cell phone law is the most ridiculous law on the books. Do the Police even enforce it?
Anyone with any sense realizes the cellphone law was written by some wannabe to get his/her name on the books.
There's no way I'm wearing one of those metrosexual earpieces. I use the cell phone up to my ear all the time. Sometimes I'll put it on speakerphone.

Remember when the law in California was first enacted??? - THEY FORGOT TO ADD TEXTING WHILE DRIVING! Then, the wanker who thought of the law said "oops" and added the law to include texting, as well. LOL!
Texting while driving is one of the most dangerous acts that a person can do. That's what the cell law should have been.

Talking on a cell while driving is safe and basic. Who cares? Repeal the law. Barely anyone abides by it anyway, and I haven't heard of anyone actually getting a ticket for it. It's a laughable law.

Hell yes they do. The first fine is supposed to be around 20 dollars or so, but by the time they finish adding on the extras it comes to around 114 dollars.

The purpose of all laws is to be selectively enforced against people you don't like.

If you like them, you just pretend you didn't see.

She’s a big Democrat. She can drive an Escalade if she wants to.

Obama’s buddy, Deval Patrick, earned his nickname Coupe Deval when he was elected governor of Massachusetts. One of the first things he did was to get rid of the old governor’s car and get a Cadillac Escalade.

There’s going to be swift action:

Arnold: “Maria, you know better than that. Driving in public with a cell phone in your hand, right after I said that people shouldn’t do it. You’re setting a bad example.”

Maria: “Get stuffed, Arnie.”

Arnold: “Oh. Uh. Yes, Maria. Whatever you say.”
