Last week, Bertha Lewis, the chief-organizer at ACORN, the Association of Community Organizations for Reform Now, cited Linda Tripp when she spoke about ACORNs lawsuit against James OKeefe, Hannah Giles and Breitbart.com at Washingtons National Press Club.
ACORNs lawsuit accuses OKeefe and Giles, whose pimp and prostitute undercover operation captured ACORN workers, on video counseling them on how to cheat tax laws among other potential crimes, of violating Maryland law that requires two-party consent for electronic surveillance. Breitbart.com, the news website, is also named as a defendant for first posting the video.
It is illegal, as Linda Tripp will tell you, to record someone in the state of Maryland without their permission. Just because we were embarrassed by these highly edited tapes, which dont tell the whole story
doesnt mean that these people didnt break the law in order to embarrass and attack the organization, Lewis said.

problem is unlike Linda Tripp, Acorn had no expectation of privacy as the tape shows many people walking in the room.

If ACORN is acting as an agent of the government, and takes government money, shouldn't there be a different view regarding taping? These were not conversations with private individuals, they were taped conversations between an agent of the federal government, while giving advice about the government, and a private citizen attempting to expose government corruption.
If a state's DMV was selling drovers licenses and other government officials insisted on looking the other way (Holder) and someone were to tape a license being sold and went to the media, who would complain?

These laws forbidding recording conversations were put in place by corrupt politicians intent on protecting corrupt politicians. No sting - no crime.

This ACORN suit was a big mistake. Now all the dirt ACORN has so carefully hidden from the public will come out in discovery. These people really ARE stupid. LOL!
