Barack Obama's Nobel Peace Prize Is Snub To Bill Clinton

Many feel that Bill Clinton, right, deserves the prize more than Obama Christina Lamb

Although the award of the Nobel peace prize to President Barack Obama was widely interpreted as a repudiation of the Republican era of George W Bush, the real snub may have been to Bill Clinton.

The former Democratic president is widely held to be overdue for the prize. He helped to promote peace in Northern Ireland and devoted more time to achieving a Middle East deal than any other president, although the effort was unsuccessful.

Since leaving the White House he has created the Clinton Global Initiative to combat problems from Aids to global warming, worked hard on good causes and is the United Nations special envoy to Haiti.

In August he flew to North Korea, held talks with its leader, Kim Jong-il, and secured the release of two jailed American journalists, Laura Ling and Euna Lee.

While Hillary Clinton, the secretary of state, congratulated her boss personally, the usual garrulous Bill Clinton was silent. In Washington the speculation is that the politically correct Nobel committee cannot forgive him his affair with Monica Lewinsky, the White House intern

They are saving Bill’s prize for the next Republican administration.

Oh how the scavengers turn to attacking each other.

Clinton may not have done much, but compared to Obama, it’s hugh!

Maybe Bubba will get it next year...or the year after...or the year after..And if he doesn't get it....another DEM will. Glad the Peace Prize isn't politics as usual.

Now, about the Olympics. How would it look if he won two things in a week.

We are living in Obama's virtual world!!It's sick!!!

I really doubt the Nobel committee would even consider the Monica Lewinsky situation (as it would pertain to Clinton receiving a Nobel Peace Prize).

Oh yeah, that's close. The same class of euro-degenerate who feel so much sympathy for Roman Polanski shrink back in horror at Billyboy's adolescent antics. No, Bill is next, but things being what they are, Obama had to be expedited. After all, "The World Can't Wait!" right?

...the politically correct Nobel committee cannot forgive him his affair with Monica Lewinsky, the White House intern.

Knowing how this committee operates, Roman Polanski was probably their second choice.

The so called peace prize has never gone to a conservative or a Republican. I don’t think a Pulitzer has either...

This is simply a “special interest group” bribing a public official for a future course of action. Old fashioned graft.
The Chicago Way.

Note the comment about a General in Afghanistan being aghast because he now knows that Obama will not send the troops. Quid pro quo.

It is no different than NEA giving him a $1.4 million campaign contribution and he goes against private school tuition vouchers and home schooling.

He is bought and paid for.

Sweet. The 1st black president gets upstaged by and uppity, half-n-halfer. That will really frost his ego.

Obama's Peace Prize A Snub To Bill Clinton

Gee. I hope the White House interns don't snub Obammy. It'll be racist if they don't give him what they gave Slick Willy.

The only thing about this award I agree with is that it indeed is a Bubba snub.

While Nobel will award this nonsense to any American liberal, Clinton doesn’t deserve any prize for peace for one core reason:

The wars of this decade are being fought because he failed to do anything substantive to stem the jihadist tide in the last decade.

He’s got blood on his hands and did nothing for peace.

Why should they give it to Clinton? What can he do for them now? Carter got it because they could use him as a foil against Bush. Obama got it because he is in power and can be manipulated. But Clinton? Nah.

It certainly is (among many other things). Clinton just has to be eaten up with envy - BHO gets the prize that he craved, and after only eight months in office and having done nothing in that time other than give a few speeches overseas.

A snub to Bill Clinton? LOL.

How about: Winston Churchill, Franklin Roosevelt, Harry Truman, Dwight Eisenhower, Pope John Paul II, or Mahatma Gandhi, who was nominated from 1937 to 1945 before he was assassinated. How about Ronald Reagan, GW Bush, or Margaret Thatcher?   None of them won a Nobel Peace Prize.

They were not only snubbed, but totally ignored, because they didn't fit their politically correct agenda.

This whole Nobel Prize award is a total joke.

Well, Teddy Roosevelt was fairly conservative by modern lights, and he was a Republican (at least until he bolted to the Bull Moose Party).

The wars of this decade are being fought because [Clinton] failed to do anything substantive to stem the jihadist tide in the last decade.

That's exactly why he'll get it! Jimmy Carter got the award for the same reason.

Don’t you know Hillary had to go ballistic. And she has to go out in public and congratulate O-boy. Just a matter of time before she’s outta’ there! She was actually stupid enough to think and her and Bill were the only ones where loyalty went one way.

I do care that he raped a woman.

I’m sorta getting sick of hearing that Slick Willie went to N. Korea and “secured the release” of the two Americans.. Actually I heard the release had already been agreed to but with the stipulation that Clintoon came to pick them up....just saying.....
