"New Mexicos oil and gas producers are used to cyclic ups and downs, but operators say the current slump is the worst theyve seen in decades."
....
"Industry representatives also blame adverse environmental regulations, especially new state rules on the management of oil-and-gas pits that took effect in New Mexico last June.
The overzealous and out-of-control regulatory environment makes it very tough to do business in New Mexico, said Bob Gallagher, president of the New Mexico Oil and Gas Association. Id say thats even a bigger concern than price instability."

Don’t worry. We can easily use wind and solar power to save us now!
I was talking to a former NM congressman last week. He mentioned the declining NM oil and gas production is caused by Big Bill’s idiotic enviro-over-regulation...............
Don’t forget rainbows and unicorns too.
The government in Santa Fe is slimy, even more so after Gary Johnson left office and Bill Richardson became caudillo.
New Mexico had the gall to expect me to pay state income tax for the years before I lived in New Mexico (they lost that argument). I will never do business in that state again.
The green movement is worldwide with the help of the taxpayer funded communist and islamic loving peoples of the westen nations who are part of the existing Obamanation adminsitration.
May the Lord Jesus fight against those who destroy mankind through lies, deceit, trechaery and greed and especially the worldwide communist loving god hating depraved of the left who are destroying the once Christian nations that God once blessed.
Goodbye America, I thank God that He will come in the person of Jesus Christ after the coming 7 year tribulation to rid the world of the evil rulers and peoples and to bring in His Godly Kingship over all the earth.
Come Lord Jesus, rule and reign in the midst of all thine enemies.
“the worst theyve seen in decades.”
...get used to seeing these words. They’ve been used in regard to unemployment, retail, commercial and residential Real Estate, stock market, education, ear marks, pork, you name it.
I was in Farmington NM last week. there still seems to be quite a lot of activity going on but I only saw one drilling rig set up. Rush hour is still RUSH HOUR!
I noticed many of the wells now have a pump working on them. When I lived there years ago only a glycol dryer was in service on the wells.
The people there are expecting things to get worse.
On TV there were lots of anti-Cap and Trade adds wanting people to inform Bingaman that CO2 is NOT a pollutant.
The Oil Patch has always been Boom or Bust. Never fails, but often forgotten.

Not only will NM pay for the Richardson reign, but we will pay along with the rest of the country for the reign of President Paris Hilton!
***King Bill throwing state money at his pet projects like the Railrunner.****
All tht money for Railrunner and there was gridlock on I-25 during the balloon festeval. It (and I-40) was so bad we left Farmington and took Hy 64 through Chama and Taos to Hy 412 on our way home.
Nice post. Sobering content, but thanks for looking to the future of God’s Kingdom!!!!

I bet Big Bill ends up as a 000czar soon after leaving orifice.
You mean Partial Birth Baby Killer Bingaman?
He’s a disgrace.
I miss Pete!
Waxman bought his vote on the "Crap & Tax" bill with money for a job retraining program for oil workers 'down in the patch'.
A few million bucks for a Hobbs based facility, to teach them how to say: "You want fries with that?"
Oil is about $71 per barrel right now and only likely to go up with inflation with oil futures rising to $75 in July. The oil patch has rebounded somewhat, though the regulations are a real drag in NM.
See post #1.
