Can Congress drill its way to legislation to cut greenhouse gas emissions?
Perhaps, says Sen. Lindsey Graham (R-S.C.), who believes there is public support for both reducing reliance on energy imports and curbing carbon dioxide emissions. "If you married these two ideas up, I think you could get 60 votes, but that means give and take," Graham said yesterday.
"My hope is that if you marry these two ideas up you would get the votes for a reasonable climate change proposal, that's blocked now, and you would be able to become energy independent, that's blocked now," Graham added. "Both ideas run into a wall. I am trying to knock that wall down."

He should use his head...
Australia is energy independent, had a 5.8% unemployment rate, and is a net exporter, of Coal, Oil and Natural Gas and is Energy Independent.
They make us look like Smucks, and this Pinhead is one of the main perpetrators of the impression.
Read Burt Rutan's PDF Gramnesty, it is all about the skewing of the data when the Russians closed down their outland weather stations after Reagan kicked their asses and they couldn't afford to keep them open.
Agggghhh,,,, I feel better now...
Can someone please vote this knucklehead out of office?
The moment a politician mouths the words “global warming” or “climate change” I know he’s unfit for any position of responsibility.
We should be working toward the same end. Instead the OPEC shills in DC keep changing the subject. I want to hear how we're going to reduce our imported fuels and they change the subject to windmills or whatever, which do not reduce our imported fuels by a single drop. I want to talk about opening up the coast for drilling and they want to talk about greenhouse gases. I want to talk about our saudi-sized oil shale deposits and they want to talk about carbon.
Its a sleight of hand. Most of our politicians are in OPEC's pockets, pretending to be enviro-heros.
Lindsey Graham?
Can’t someone get this little girl a babysitter?
Glenn nailed it last week. It is not revolution in the street that needs to happen. The revolution will be the disintegration of the dysfunctional systems. The big three that will collapse as they try to prop up a broken system are the complicit media, The K Street Special Interest and Corporations cutting side deals.
It all revolves around the tax code and the corruption it entails.
We can't get to a Natural Gas Economy, Coal to Oil for our Military and Airliners, and Nuclear Power, convention or Thorium Reactors when the Sierra Club and all their minions are feeding the Piggy's at the trough via their campaign money.
Steve Forbes was right the Flat Tax will be needed 1st and a compelete change the Dod Gamn bunch of the Bastardos in the House and Senate so that we can make common sense decisions to build energy plants etc and to drill this country like it was a rented mule.
There is no climate change Richard head.
Sorry, we won't have that opportunity until 2014.
SC needs to ditch this RINO.
Thus souring an otherwise very sweet day.
