They’d give the guy a medal had he killed someone or molested a kid.
18 months of free room and board.
This reminds me of the O Henry story “The Cop and the Anthem”.
Long history and armed robbery.
I don’t have a problem with 18 months.
It appears to be a pattern with this man. He shouldn’t be free in a law-abiding society.
The man should have raped the hotdog, he would have been given probation.....
Soon people will be getting 18 months for not having Obama-approved health insurance...
Someone should do a news search to see how long the last child killer or child molester got?
I bet it didn’t even have sauerkraut.
Someone should make a habit of giving this thug a hotdog while he’s behind bars.
I don't either given the history.
But I'm always reminded of the following verse. Which I read as we should be mindful of motive. A hungry thief should still be punished but not despised.
Pro 6:30 [Men] do not despise a thief, if he steal to satisfy his soul when he is hungry; Pro 6:31 But [if] he be found, he shall restore sevenfold; he shall give all the substance of his house.
I’m okay with this. The guy’s a repeat violent offender who brandished a weapon in this crime. My only regret is that I suspect the perp will not use his year-and-a-half vacation to get his head out of his butt and straighten out his life.
If he raped the hot dog and then called it “art”, then he would be a free man today.
Steal a hot dog, do 18 months in prison.
Rape a 13 year old, get away scot free.
MADNESS.
lulz. Crazy stuff going on up there in those northern states.
Stealing food is one thing, brandishing a weapon and robbing someone is something else.
I have to believe that it is difficult to go truly hungry in this country with all the various aid available.
I do too. But I can see someone who is not familiar with how to apply for aid, getting themselves into trouble by waiting until the last moment. Or someone losing their transportation, before hitting rock bottom.
Or someone who has no compunction about robbing people.
Hard to know what really motivated him.
I suspect that is the case with this guy. Hard to believe he didn't know where to turn for help.
Unfortunately, that reminds me of a scene from Bachelor Party.
Typical MSM. Sensationalistic headline.
What a moron. He could have raped and robbed a child of their lunch money and BOUGHT a hot dog. The worst he would have got would be thirty days probation.
Maybe the original owner of the hot dog was an ACORN worker. I hear they have a lot of pull with government and the courts.
It was armed robbery. He flashed a gun. Thats why he got the sentence he got. Regardless it was just a pellet gun, his intention was to scare the other person with it, no different than if he had walked into a bank with a toy pistol and flashed it.
Had he merely just grabbed the food from the other guy without doing that he would have probably walked ot at worse got a day in jail.
Maybe the hotdog owner was a homosexual, and a misunderstanding ensued. “Can I have your hotdog?” “Why, yes!”
ROFL!!! :)
“Nice buns!”
