Alert The Media: Ayers' Claim He Wrote Obama's 'Dreams Of My Father' A Blockbuster

[Full, unedited title: "Alert The Media: Ayers' Claim He Wrote Obama's 'Dreams Of My Father' Is A Blockbuser Story"]

Anne Leary is a conservative blogger found at http://backyardconservative.blogspot.com/. She claims to have recently met Bill Ayers at the Reagan National Airport. She approached him and out of the blue, he claimed to have written Barack Obama’s bestseller Dreams of My Father. Was he joking? Serious?

I wanted to have Anne Leary on my radio show right away to see if she was reliable and to see what Ayers may have been trying to tell her. I have been actively tracking Jack Cashill’s investigation into the possibility Bill Ayers was Obama’s ghostwriter for Dreams. I was very skeptical of the story at first but Jack’s research and Christopher Andersen’s favorable book on the First Couple both supported that Ayers did, in fact, play a significant role in Obama’s book (which President Obama claims he wrote with no help).

This looks better and better all the time, especially the bit about Michelle requesting Ayers to do the writing, which fits with Andersen's bok.

Well, don’t forget that this is likely a ploy to take our minds off the healthcare debacle long enough for them the pass the thing. I find this story much less of interest than the possibilty of that disaster happening and us losing our liberties. Keep focused. Don’t let them distract us from the real issues. Who really cares about that stupid book, anyway?

I wonder if Ayers and company (including Soros) are beginning to realize what a liability Obama is and are throwing him under the bus?

I really don’t think anyone can rely on Anne Leary’s account. I’m not saying she’s lying about the encounter. But I think it is entirely likely that he was playing her. Even if he wasn’t, it’s just his word against hers.

His line about “if she could prove it they could split the royalties” really raises my eyebrows. Like he couldn’t prove it himself if he wanted to. He has no notes, no drafts, no scrap of a manuscript that he could produce to bolster his claim to authorship, if in fact he wanted to press it?

I think this story does more damage to conservative bloggers than it does to Bill Ayers.

Why have these threads, useless, McCain lost, no one cares about who wrote Obama’s book. No one still cares who wrote Obama’s book. Talking about this is about as politically useful as bringing up the birth certificate issue. 50% of the people are functionally retarded in this country and in some demographics a full 90% are one evolutionary step above a chimp. Only thing the country will turn on is 20% unemployment, people being denied medical care in droves and prison camps being erected for political undesirables. This is going to end badly, there will be no velvet revolution here, we will have to take it back.

Actually, it was 52% who voted for zer0bama.

But some of us do care about exposing his lies, his associates, and his plans.

Getting caught in lies has become so prosaic in the ‘bama administration that it’s no longer news.

Those are a couple of good scenario examples.

Others are having one or more cities nuked, suffering a major military defeat, or having Soetoro's birth certificate trigger a constitutional crisis.

I disagree that this issue is useless. Perhaps it won't matter a whole lot right now as far as the general public is concerned (since the media probably won't cover it to any extent), but if it could be proven beyond reasonable doubt that Ayers had a hand in Obama's Dreams then that should definitely come into play in 2012. It would help put another dent in the "he's so talented, he's such a genius" facade that has been built up around Obama. How many so-called conservative intellectuals have swooned over his supposed writing ability? Brooks, Noonan to name a couple. Besides which, it brings to the fore the fact that Obama flat out lied when he denied knowing Ayers, saying he was just some guy in the neighborhood. It would provide a direct link between Obama and Ayers.

Certainly we shouldn't put all out eggs in this basket, but neither should we discount its potential impact and leave it out altogether.

We could take it back in 2010. Two demographics which voted for zero are getting screwed - the elderly through cuts in medicare and the recent college grads who can’t find jobs. The GOP needs to appeal to these two groups in a big way.

Well we can agree to disagree then. This is a pyrrhic victory for our side, that we proved he didn't write the book. Talk about “Preaching to the choir”. America needs to see the radical at work and be horrified, only then will things change. You have the country teetering on the takers out numbering the givers. You think pointing out that some 60’s terrorist wrote his book will be anything more than FR fodder, good luck with that. Let's not be naive that people give a rat's as* about this. If you think you can make people care then have fun hitting head against brick wall and enjoy being Don Quixote. These maybe salient issues but salient does not mean useful, effective or important to forwarding any agenda. I say we engage in real battles about real legislation, these type of issues are easily diffused and consume alot of momentum. Don't believe me go find a "Moderate" that you know and tell him what you know about Obama's book. Watch as the eyes glaze and subject quickly changes, its a loser issue.

It may not be politically useful, but I think there’s a point. We focus on personalities more than we ought to. Obama matters more than a lot of people, but not so much that we have to rake over the minute details of his life. I’d simply like to see the history books be forced to bring up plagiarism questions. I’d like for Obama to drift into that good night with some soil on his suit.

Because history books matter. Lord knows how much damage has been done by the way Nixon is demonized or FDR glorified before our children.

But that's just it. Certainly this alone won't topple Obama but it provides yet another hard link to a radical and plays into the overarching theme of him being influenced by and working directly with extremists. And it is only "preaching to the choir" because the ObamaMedia have taken it upon themselves to erect a dam around Obama and deflect or at least downplay anything that might prove embarrassing to him. Still, that doesn't mean we should just give up. The more streams of attack we having going against Obama the more likely that dam will burst at some point.

Does this mean Zero is a liar? I believe he has used quotes from the book "Dreams of my Father", he said he wrote.
