Can one even imagine CNN fact checking any of the skits SNL on President Bush or Sarah Palin?? Heaven forbid SNL finally make fun of President Obama. CNN couldn't help themselves. They actually fact checked the jokes. Lets bring in CNN's Kareen Wynter. Shes checking the facts for us. All right, Kareen, what are you finding out?
KAREEN WYNTER: Hi there, Wolf. Well, some observers say- sure, we are just talking comedy here, but that, on many points- well, SNL couldnt have been more off the mark.
WYNTER (voice-over): A cold open for the countrys commander-in-chief.
FRED ARMISEN (as Barack Obama): Because, when you look at my record, its very clear what I have done so far, and that is- nothing. (audience laughter)
WYNTER: Obama on Obama- well, not

Funny, but I don’t recall CNN “fact checking” SNL’s Sarah Palin skit wherein they implied she said you could see Russia from her house.
Wolf Blitzer, who had to fact check comedy on Obama, was during the Campaign repeating gleefully how “accurate” and “almost identical” Tina Fey was mimicking Palin, “comedy indistiguishable from reality”.
Bleh!
Bingo
I find it even a bit scary that the media would get into the business of “fact checking” humor because since when is humor supposed to be 100 % accurate & since when is the media supposed to be the watchdog of cultural matters. This makes for a comedy sketch in itself but the notion of media “ correcting” a comic sketch could be something right out of the old Soviet Union or Nazi Germany as it promotes the notion of a party line everyone must adhere to or face the wrath of the media Commissars. This is how totalitarianism tends to start.
CNN.......same people thought Hollywood should send the CSI people to help solve the DC sniper case.
CNN.......same people reported someone’s audible *bang bang* as gun shots.
What a joke CNN is. Check out how rude and unprofessional this CNN reporter is at a Tea Party, which is ‘Not really family viewing’ according to this clown:

That raises an interesting possibility. If SNL does a skit about CNN fact checking an SNL skit will CNN fact check the SNL-on-CNN skit? And would a woodchuck chuck his TV if they did?

Given Wolf Blitzer’s demonstrated inability to distinguish fact from fiction on Jeopardy, this piece is even more hilarious. I’m not certain that it wasn’t designed as satire and we are all falling for it!

Larry King Live featured a long session with Ann Coulter and Kiki McLean Wednesday night.During the interview, King asked Coulter about the recent Saturday Night Live skit about Obama running through a check list of his failures as president and whether this was the beginning of a trend of media criticism of Obama.
Ann said Michelle Obama would turn on Obama before Saturday Night Live would and that the skit was good fun.
She then noted that websites like Free Republic were criticizing CNN for fact-checking the comedy skit...

The interesting possibility is that SNL received a horse’s head sent by Rahmbo.
Also to note Fox news at 3am gets better ratings than CNN at 8pm.
Talk about a constant conundrum which is self perpetuating.
I can just picture SNL and CNN locked in a death spiral unable to break it off or talk about any other subject.
Not too unlike the Olbermann / O’Reilley wars.
This should be used if Bernie Goldberg ever decides to do a follow up of his awesome book on the "slobbering love affair" between obama and the media
