BREAKING - Dem Senators who Help Filibuster Health Care will have Chairmanships Revoked.
MSNBC, Rachel Maddow Show

Posted on 10/07/2009 6:09:09 PM PDT by cc2k

Rachel Maddow just said that Democrat Leader(s) in the Senator have told her that Reid will revoke chairmanships of any Senator that sides with Republicans in a filibuster.

She's discussing various strategies that the Democrats in the Senate are evaluating. But the first seems to be bullying their own leadership.

Sorry, no video yet. It will be online later tonight I'm sure.

And she could be full of it. No guests or anything to support this other than her own monologue.

She also mentioned reconciliation as a last resort.

Well, this is a critical vote for them. Revoking committee chairs for party members who vote the wrong way on critical votes was S.O.P. for years.

The question is, how come only the Democrats do it? Why is Olympia Snowe still on all those committees? Why hasn’t she been moved to the basement of the Senate office building?

It seems as if the Democrats understand Politics 101, if nothing else.

If true, I hope the Republican Senators will invite the ex-chairmen to join the Republican Party. Shouldn’t be a scary move for these Democrat Senators, since if they’re wanting to filibuster with the Republicans already, it’s because their constituents have let them know in no uncertain terms that the socialist health care reform proposal must be killed.

Other than Baucus, who could this be aimed at?

Or will they revoke seniority as well, so if you do this, you never get a chairmanship.

Are these men willing to bankrupt and enslave America and abandon our poor and elderly to a discompassionate healthcare bureacracy whose main goal is not the quality of human life, but cost containment?

Or keep a “Committee Chairmanship” in a Senate that will only slightly less hated than the swine flu?

It seems being spanked by Harry Reid should be a Red Badge of Courage.

Wait ... I thought that the Dem Senate was now 'filibusterproof' supposedly ... and Reid *still* has to threaten heavy-handed tactics against any Dem who might have a few questions or two ???

Our Founding Fathers must be laughing in their graves over this complete overreaching dramatics by some schmuck from Nevada .....

Reid reminds me of the histroy of King George III. Any noble supporting the independece of the American Colonies would lose their titles and estates.

Americans knew what it meant then, and they know what it means now.

So these RAT Senators don’t have minds of their own to think with??? They need Reid/Obama to tell them how to vote and when to vote and when to.....

Then what good are they to their constituents if they can’t think and bow to threats and can be bought off so easily?

I’ve been wondering how that particular issue will play out. They are going to do this as an “Amendment in the form of a substitute” to a revenue measure that the House has already passed (probably H.R.1586).

When that happens, the House has limited options. The pressure will be on for them to just concur with the Senate amendments. That won’t require another 60 votes in the Senate.

But if Queen Nancy Pelosi does that, She becomes “Speaker of the House that Doesn’t Matter.” I don’t think she cares about the Constitutional issue. But she will have essentially no power on anything if she allows this to go through with no input from the House.

“A lose of chairmanship versus preserving freedom? ...”

This must be a hint of what the Founders meant by pledging their lives, their fortunes and their sacred honor.

I wish our senators and representatives would listen to the people. You’d think some of them would be encouraged.
