"Many members" of Congress suffer from the same disclosure issues as Rep. Charles Rangel (D.N.Y.), one of his allies said Wednesday.
Rep. Maxine Waters (D-Calif.) downplayed the seriousness of allegations against Rangel that he failed to disclose sources of income and pay taxes on some properties, saying that many lawmakers suffer from innocent lapses in judgment when filing mandatory financial disclosure forms.
"I want to tell you, there are many members who, if you go back over all of their records, over all of the years, you're going to find that there were disclosures that were not made," Waters said during an appearance on MSNBC Wednesday morning.
Republicans are seeking to force Rangel from his position as chairman of the House Ways and Means Committee by offering a privileged resolution from Rep. John Carter (R-Texas) to mandate Rangel step aside.

WOW.... is she nuts... The AG should be directing the IRS to audit every Congressman based on those comments...
Cool! Run them all out too. Time to clean house - and senate.
Cause most of them would have to explain where all that money came from. Ain’t gonna happen.
I really dislike these corrupt liars.

The culture of corruption.
Of course! It’s not Charlie’s fault! He’s a victim who suffers from the recently discovered, TurboTax syndrome. The disease, although deadly, is only fatal to non DemocRATS. DemocRATS have a built in immunity to the disease.
"We're all crooks up here, Charlie's no better or worse than the rest of us."
Seriously, where the hell is my pitchfork? I'm getting fed up.
Oh...well...that makes it okay...I guess...everyone else is doing it.
Audit the FED and Congress! Pronto.
Wait a minute. Do we ALL get a *chance* make good?
I didn’t think so.
Lord help us...the revolution had better hurry.
Yep, Maxine Loud Mouth Soup Waters hasn’t splained herself or her husbands participation regarding their bank problems.
let a regular citizen try that with the IRS
Have you forgotten who is Attorney General?
Wow did this worthless person ever get near the House?
What an idiot. If what she says is true she’s admitting that many elected Reps are committing tax fraud and if it’s not true she’s lying to cover for Rangel. Either way it confirms what we already know about many of them and that’s that they have little or no integrity.

Dear Maxine should be the first one we look into after Charley.
Somehow I don't think the IRS would buy that excuse if I tried to use it.
I wonder if Rangel's accountant is available?
Better get rid of MANY members then. Including this government whore.
“The AG should be directing the IRS to audit every Congressman based on those comments...”
At least the ones that have a net worth many times larger than when they were first elected.
Any public servant that becomes rich is a crook. To paraphrase Harry S. Truman.
You see, the average person cannot understand the complexities of the elites finances. It is not for us to question but to understand that their finances and lives or more complicated than ours, therefore these lapses in judgement are understandable.
Sounds like the people are going to have to fix the problem, and its not going to end well for the politicians in D.C.
I think Waters is smoothing the waters for when she gets caught tax cheating.
We have a Senator in this state (along with her husband) who have some major explaining to do. (toll roads)
“Disclosure” is when they get caught. The problems these members have is fraud, theft and tax evasion. All felonies.
Sheesh...
If you want to stop the tide of corruption, you first have to stem the Waters..
Oh really. Pray tell.
Apparently, 250+ members = some.
Prison is full of folks who had innocent lapses in judgment.
Illinois has one governor in prison now and another headed that way as his cell mate.
I think the count is five of Illinois’ last seven governors have spent time in prison. And I know a big city mayor that should join them.
So here is a question; how many multiple term Congresscritters of either or any party come out of office poorer or at the same net worth? Believe it or not, this was the normal condition for the first half of this country's history. Now I don't think I could name one past 3 terms in the House. The Senate, being the home of the already rich as a rule, is harder to determine.

She plans on using toll roads against Perry when her hubby is knee-deep.

No argument there!
Isn’t her own husband the beneficiary of many pieces of her legislation? Clearly many of them are on the take, most likely her and her colleagues in the CBC (two members that I know of have absconded with tons of taxpayer cash which has benefited their families).
But no one in this democrap Congress seems to care. All they want to do is cover up these crimes.
How did our country ever get into such a mess? As Glenn Beck keeps pointing out, our corrupt politicians are driving our country into ruin.
Well, okay then.
Da Man!! they mean Americans because those half wit Communists dam sure ARE not.
BTW (and damn it) Looks like we might have another of those *lesser evil* elections coming up next year.
Yep
LOL I assume you are talking about the evil KBH.
Maybe not evil just DC tainted.
Maybe.
They need to be in prison.
“I want to tell you, there are many members who, if you go back over all of their records, over all of the years, you’re going to find that there were disclosures that were not made,”
Which is precisely why their very jobs involve being trusted to make complex financial decisions for the entire country on a daiuly business.
How refreshing, to hear a poltician admit that politicians are unfit to do their own jobs.
Sounds like some ugly, stupid bitch wants to confess......
